i dont play online. (only against the CPU[legend only] and my friends) but im curious to ask. how much importance do yall put in OLine. lookin on this forum @ ppl listin their teams. its jus a bunch of wr's and 3-4 defensive players.....so do yall pick O Line Men? do u think they have an effect on ur play and which tier do u pick?
me personally i pick atleast 1 bronze. Jacoby or Stringer. J for runnin blockin and String for pass blockin. if i pick Walter Payton. i sometimes pick Jacoby and a silver run blockin O line man.
i think when used correctly. they make a difference. but its not worth pickin a gold Line Man. cuz ur missin soooo much @ the skill position w/ the lost pick the O line man takes up. Munez is a beast tho.
thoughts?

Unless your building a run heavy team or sitting in the pocket for a while you don't really need o-linemen

Yea you really dont need O-Lineman... and you say most teams you see on here have tons of WRs and only 3 or 4 defensive players... who's teams are you looking at? The majority of teams on here have most defensive legends like about 4 or 5 total players on offense. Honestly the best players only use 4 or 5 legends on offense and have at least 5 or 6 on D.

I dont think the best players usually have 5 or 6 on defense and 4 or 5 on offense or w/e. It varies with every team u make because sometimes i have 6 or 7 guys on offense and 4 or 5 on defense. Its what ever team you decided to make. I consider myself a good player.

Your right, I didnt mean to generalize. What I meant to say is "Most of the best players use 4 or 5 on offense and 6 or 7 on defense, but some people use more on O, and some use more on D."

I never saw that big of a difference. If anything I would get an Olineman w/ leadership and call it a day

there is a difference..they open up crazy holes and can run down the field and throw some great blocks...nobody uses them but they are way better than generics

Stonewall is pretty nice ability if you have a bronze QB.
Unfortunately only silver and silver+ linemen have it, so you should probably just pick a silver or better QB.
I have been trying to integrate Joe Delamielleure (Silver G, Stonewall, Speed Burner, Bulldozer) but he's only 254 freaking pounds... that's only 1 pound heavier than Okoye...
A CAP C with Stonewall and Leadership might be worthwhile.

I have played guys with an OLine and it gives them a LOT of time in the pocket. The problem is that it requires the QB to move around a lot in order to take advantage of the time. The pocket doesn't collapse, but it definitely shifts, and due to the funky controls at the QB level, it's a bit hard to take advantage of this extra space/time. Not impossible, but not easy.
To me, the best generics in the game are the Offensive Lineman.

I'd agree with that. At what other position can generics go up against golds and hold their own?

Where I'm from (Scranton Pa. area), offensive lineman are important to football. I go to a college where, when you walk through the main door, Mike Munchak's (HOF guard, silver tier tackle ) jersey hangs on the left and Bryant McKinnie's (Vikings current left tackle) jersey hangs on the right. Tim Ruddy (former Dolphins center), like Munchak, is from here, and Chris Snee (Super Bowl champion Giants guard) grew up here.
That being said, the offensive lineman are almost pointless in this game. The gold players are very good, but aren’t worth the pick. The silvers are good, but you’d be better off going in a different direction with your selection. The bronze pass blockers, like Stringer or Boselli, seem to let in any silver or gold defensive player. Now if you’re a run based team, using run blocking bronze lineman, like Jacoby, Tingelhoff, and even Bubba Paris, are great for pulls; they run over one guy and on moving down field to make an other block. There are some teams that benefit from having lower tier offensive lineman, but not many.

Boselli is a beast pass blocker, and also a great run blocker even though he doesn't have the ability.
p.s. Sockcornnoodle's Jacoby was demolishing my defense.

I have a squad that has Bulldozer at every line position, and Billy-Jo Dupree at TE (also bulldozer). Generic recievers, QB, and HB. I can run the ball at will - literally. I've seen someone bring goal line defense against me at mid-field, and I STILL gash them for 4-5 yards. ;)
Understand there's a price to be paid though. I wind up eating up 1 golds, 2 silver, and 3 bronze on my O-Line on that team, but MAN is it fun to watch the other guy squirm. ;) Who do you double up on? Oh, and since two of those guys have stonewall attribute, let's just say I have time to throw too. :D
