Getting Cards/Wild Cards

I started a franchise on Pro, and was earning about 3 cards per game (usually 2 wild cards and 1 player card)...at least 2 cards per game for 10-15 games. It was beating the computer like 15-3 stuff every game. So I bumped the difficulty to All-Pro. Since then, I have not earned a single wild card. Im still winning games (last night I won 9-1, allowing only 2 hits)...and didnt earn a single card (not even a wild card). Anyone else have this? Is this normal? How do i earn more wild cards? I understand the player card thing, but how do i earn wild cards?

I am in about the same boat as you. I started a franchise on Pro played six or seven games, getting wildcards, then went with some custom sliders (custom-P). I have stopped getting wildcards as well. Perhaps the servers have been tweaked and are allowing less wildcards? I have since went back to Pro settings and played two games without getting a wildcard. I am not sure what is going on with the wildcards.

i have played about 30 games 1/2 on pro & 1/2 with custom sliders...only 1 wild card & it was i my 2nd game.....what did you guys do in the game to get your wild cards?....being i havent the foggiest idea of how i recieved mine.

I have probably gotten six or seven wild cards so far. I don't know why I was given them, but I liked it. I miss em.

I only play online, abd haven't received any cards. Does it have to be franchise on mode?

No, it isn't supposed to be just franchise. Exhibition or tourney should be able to earn wilds.

I haven't gotten a wild card since the last time the servers were down...(about 10 games for me). I've had plenty of diving catches...I threw a 17 strikeout 2 hit shutout with santana, and won 8-0, with no wild cards. I don't understand what's going on but without them it'll take FOREVER to get cards from teams you'll never play with etc...

I have no idea what i did to earn them, but my first 10-12 games (franchise pro) I earned at least 1 per game, often 2. It never told me what i did to get them (unlike player cards, which are unlocked by achievments). Most of the wild cards where unlocking old jerseys, stadiums and repeat cards i already had. But, ever since i changed my franchise to be more competitive (All Pro) I havent earned a single card of any type.

I'm going to clear the hdd cache on my 360(all game updates etc...) and play a franchise game without signing into live and see if I get any wild cards...that should give us an idea of whether or not it's server related.

okay...this is what i can tell so far by playing for a week.

WILDCARDS...you can win them on default settings. however-if you tweak the sliders at all...you will not earn wildcards UNLESS you pitch a no-hitter...thats the only time ive heard of anyone winning a wildcard on custom sliders.

i have won wild cards during games for things such as DOUBLE PLAYS, SINGLES, DOUBLES, TRIPLES, SCORING A RUN, STEALING A BASE, HO-HITTER (i won 3 wild cards for pitching a no-hitte).

i will play some games and get nothing...sometimes as much as 3 or 4 games in a row...i will play other games and win 3 or 4 wildcards in a single game. its very random...but thats part of the fun IMO...if wild cards were frequent then you wouldnt really get excited about getting the card.

WORST feeling in the world...is winning a wildcard-opening it up and getting one of those ROOKIE class cards. whats the point of them? do they even do anything?

when you get a PACK though-you get stoked! cuz then you get to open the pack too!

worst wildcard i got was last night MARLON BYRD! hahaha.

Well, I just got a wild card for hitting a double. The scrolling data at the bottom told me, plus it added I had a 2% on pro difficulty of getting a wild card for every double I hit. This leads me to guess that the server tweak made the chances of getting a wild card more remote than they were in the beginning..?

So the other night I played on my franchise mode and beat the twins 23 to 1 with the mariners. This was on the all star difficulty and I am soon going to switch to legendary mode because it is far to easy.

Anyways I don't remember the last time I got a player card or even a wild card. I satisfied the objectives from the card list with Erik Bedard, Ichiro, Raul Ibanez, and Adrian Beltre. I did not recieve a single player card or wild card. By the way I was 4-6 with Ibanez with 3 homeruns and 5-7 with Ichiro who hit for the cycle during the game. Im pretty sure those performances would earn me a wild card.

Is it because I change the setting so that my hitters eye is always on so I don't have to click?

I also changed it so that my pitching view is behind the batter and I changed from break point pitching to pinpoint. Are these the reasons im not getting any cards?

i dont think game settings as far as presentation etc have anything to do with wild cards...just sliders.

i just won a mike cameron platinum card for making a diving catch with him. i got 7 platinums all together now...but they are all outfielders and pitchers.

I have my batters eye on all the time, so it isn't keeping you from getting cards.

crazy. It seems so inconsistant. Its weird you have so many platinum cards. I have only 1 plat. card and 8 black and 2 golds. Im starting to think the wild card thing is totally random, the the player card thing is the same way, you may complete the objective (like get 5 RBI in one game with Pujols) and not receive the card (this has happend to me twice now). I wish 2k would publish some kind of Know the Cards page, where all theses questions could be explained. I think the trading cards idea is great and alot of fun, but the fact that no one really understands it is a little frustrating to say the least.

I just won games in the A, AA, AAA and MLB levels of my franchise and didn't get the achievement points. I don't think I had custom sliders during any of the wins. nuts.

I had a bit of trouble getting connected to the 2k servers to redeem the wild card I just got. I had to try twice, but finally got it redeemed. It was a card pack!

Why do they say in the card tutorial that wild cards are

3/4: Individual Card
1/4: Card Pack

I've gotten about 25 wild cards, and 1 of them was a CARD PACK WTF?

I have to be on-line to redeem my wild cards. I am not sure about getting credits, like selling a duplicate card. I don't think you have to be on-line to do that.

To update: Clearing the cache and redownloading the initial update that was released didn't do jack ****. Although, I did just get beat 7-2 by the marlins with the phillies, lol.

I have yet to get a card pack from a wild card. I got 5 wild cards last night and all of them were pretty weak.

I know that the higher the difficulty you are playing at the better chance of getting a rare card is. Also the higher the difficulty the easier it is to get wild cards - I earned mine be getting a single (with Ichiro 1.5% chance on All-Star) I got a wild card by scoring a run (I think 2% chance on All-Star) I got another two by hitting homeruns (6% chance on All-Star) and 1 for stealing a base (2%chance on All-star).

I'm just ****ed you guys are getting all the packs of cards - because it is taking me forever to fill out my on-line roster from only obtaining single cards that basically suck and then selling them back for credits.

I bought my first pack last night which I was excited about - because you're supposed to get at least 1 gold or platinum card, which I did but it was for the 99' Rookie Class - what a let down after selling all my cards.

I've gotten three packs from wild cards, I play on pro diff., maybe that has something to do with it. Plus i have yet to go on-line, do I get something different from redeeming my wilds on-line?
Different question concerning Joba Chamberlain. To earn his card you have to "With Joba Chamberlain, allow 0 or fewer hits in 2+ innings of work" now if he is a starting pitcher do I haveto do just 2 innings at anytime between say the 1-7th inning or does it have to be for the whole time?

thats a really good questions...i wouldnt take my chances...i mean-if you REALLY want the card that bad...go 2 innings without a hit...or maybe its 2 1/3...then pull him...at least that way you ar sure to get the card...then you can always find out another time if you get the card by giving up 1 hit in the 4th or 5th inning.

it usually tells you WHEN you earn the card-that you unlocked the achievement...so if you pitch 3 innings without a hit and still havent seen the ticket informing you that you won the card-i think its safe to say the achievement is based on his appearance as a whole.

with joba you have to get seven consecutive outs without allowing a hit. the 2+ means more that two innings, so seven or more outs. but if you just want the card, take him out after the seventh out without allowing any hits and youll get it. it also doesnt matter when you put him in, start, out of the pen.

and if i remember correctly, right after i got that seventh out, it alerted me that i received his card, but he was still in the game. makes me think that if i would have left him in and he gave up a hit that i still woulda got his card.

see the wording on it is what makes me think its throughout his entire appearance...the other pitchers it says "retire 12 straight batters"...but for jobba its "not allowing a hit in 2+ innings"...wouldnt it simply say "retire 7 straight batters"?????

i got some recently and be4 that i hadnt gotten them in a while it says on the back of the wild cards u get them for diving plays and robbing HRs and winning games and it is increased possibility with difficulty

i havent had any real problems getting cards, but i had something weird happen to me yesterday when i played. after i got done playing a game in my season, i went online for the first time yesterday...i didnt play or anything, just looking around seeing what was what, and when i went back to look at my cards offline, out of absolutely nowhere i had received 15 wild cards and 3 card packs!! i have absolutely no idea why or how this happened...not that im complaining mind you, as it got me 64 new cards and helped get me the achievement for earning 100 cards or more. any ideas on how this happened??

probably since you hadnt gone online at all you had been achieving those all those cards but havent shown up till you went online and "validated your online cards"

im playing on all star and have about 150 cards now.But every wild card i get gives me the Pro difficulty % for whats in the wild card,why is that.Im not useing custom sliders.Im useing the default ALL STAR setting.

but i also get a bunch in exibition.

Dude, this thread is 9 weeks old... it was established that using custom sliders disables wild cards.
