I won't get a game into tonight. I just played the Prarie View game, but lost. I will tinker with the sliders a bit because I should not be losing to Prarie View. I would play the game now, but the West Virginia game will be on in a little while and I can't wait!!!

man that game was close. I am a duke fan and I was sh*tting bricks. we should of never played them like that. But i'll admit, they played us really good. if they play like that against WVU, were done.

I went 39-0 one time with West Virginia. I beat Kansas in the national championship game.

I was ranked #17 I believe the next season and in the season preview show, Greg Gumble says, "And the West Virginia Mountaineers come in as the #17 team in the nation. They accomplished one of the hardest, if not the hardest task's in college basketball, go through a season undefeated." Lol, I felt spiecal.

Good luck superjames.

Yep, can't wait!

Also, this thread is dead. I have decided to do a coaching career instead, because those are usually more fun to me. Sorry for the inconvieniences.

Oh shoot. Slander me if you want; do whatever! I am going to continue this. The thing is with closed legacies is that I just can't get into it with the unfamiliarity of the teams. I wish High Point was offered, because I always enjoyed playing with them as I did in 2K4.

Morgantown, WV - "Take Me Home, Country Roads" blared through the loudspeakers after the game following the West Virginia home win, as always, but it was certainly not the way the Mountaineers wanted to start the season. The Mountaineers were only up by 2 at halftime and fell behind 31-30 early in the 2nd half before finally getting on a run and pulling away.

The Mountaineers struggled to hit their threes as they only hit 4 of 16 three point attempts, including Alex Ruoff's 2/7 from three. Overall, the Mountaineers shot over 50% powered by the likes of Alexander and, surpringly, John Flowers, the freshman.

Alexander starred for the Mountaineers in Coach Bob Huggin's first game as West Virginia's head coach. He got 27 points on 10/14 shooting as he put on a clinic out on the court. Alex Ruoff added 10 points. Darris Nichols and John Flowers added 9 while Deshaun Butler also scored 9 points in addition to grabbing 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

i think the problem with Duke is that they basically recruit shooters, so if they are off, there done. they always get one big guy and one really athletic guy every 3 or 4 years it seems like. and inteh ACC tourney they were shootin bad agaisnt Clemson so 2 straight not - so - good games so im actually expecting a WV victory, even thou i accidently picked Arizona over them when i filled out my bracket (i picked Ariz originally then the day b4 the tourney i made a few changes and i meant to pick WV but i missed it somehow o well). but keep up the season and Alexander should be rated higher than 76

Yes, Alexander should be rated higher, but he is actually pretty good for a 76 rating, even in the game. He got me 27 points in the Prairie View game and I used him to jump over everybody with one-on-one matchups, as in real life.

Thanks. I just got down to Florida this afternoon for vacation. I watched a replay of the West Virginia/Duke game on my computer and boy was it sweet! Wohoo, Sweet Sixteen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason I picked them to win was: 22 winning streak entering the tournament, 3/6 losses to top 2 seeds in the ncaa. 2 of which were single-digit losses. They lost to UNC by 4, Duke by 6, and UCLA by 12. They're a great squad and can get far.

Yeah, they did play the top squads tight. I guess their loss to Western Michigan and the other 2 losses scared me, but every team has their bad days. I guess when they lose by only 4 to the #1 ranked team in the country, that is quite impressive. I will be rooting for my home state's team until and if they play West Virginia, then I will hate them!!!

Yeah. Memphis had their bad days, but they managed to pull out the win (except against tennessee). They actually had one last night and almost lost to Mississippi State. If no teams didn't have a bad day or two, there would be plenty of undefeated teams and even more with only 1 loss. Davidson's last loss was to NC State by 1 point near the beginning of the season. They're on a 24-game winning streak. One day I'll probably do an Open Legacy with them cause I love davidson. It may be partially cause it's my middle name xD. But who knows...

Lol, no one. But I will go with someone when the tournament is over because I'm going to be watching games and I will probably forget the team I'm using. I'll post it on here though..

I was thinking about doing a open legacy with Arizona State. But I'm still undecided.

By the way, folks, in case I forgot to tell you all, I am currently on vacation in Florida. This means I am away from my Xbox 360, so no updates until I get back on Saturday. I used to live near Charleston, West Virginia, thus my West Virginia fanhood. I moved to High Point a little over a year ago. Hope that clears things up! ;)

Im going to look online for em but if i dont find em im hoping some1 will post them on here. thanks. and im a HS JR and im lookin at WV as a possible university to go 2, so as much as i like Xavier, i got some love for WV

Lol I'm pulling for West Virginia because I'm tied with this one guy for first and he has Xavier reaching the elite eight, while I have them losing in the sweet 16. So I need them to lose or I'll lose first place :(. And I put Davidson beating G'town and Wisconsin also.

I know Davidson's rating is 78. I got blown out by them 80-41 (they were 3 point crazy). I plan on playing an open legacy with them eventually. Maybe I'll eventually get a job offer from them in Closed Legacy :D.

aight 78 is actually higher than expected them to be. ill probably play a game with each of the 3 teams just to see who i like using more. because i always make a closed and open legacy but in 2k7 i made soooooo many open legacys and never finished a season. i had one wit Alabama, K-State, Davidson, Providence (that was the longest till i accidently deleted it at 16-0), Xavier (2nd longest), George Tech, UCONN, a bunch of them. in 2k8, im planning on stickin wit one team for a few seasons

Xavier was clearly the better team, I guess. If WVU could actually learn how to make free throws, not leave great shooters WIDE open with 31 seconds left and 2 seconds remaining on the shot clock, and maybe hit a three here and there, they would have won. Oh well, I can now feel free to be depressed and agonized by yet another NCAA Tournament overtime loss (Remembers with pain the 2005 Louisville overtime game and, heck, even 2006's Texas buzzer beater loss). What else did I expect, though? I knew they would blow it somehow as they always do, it was just a matter of how they would blow it. They blew it is grand fashion, as I expected. Well, I could rant forever about this, but I will stop and be sad. http://www.operationsports.com/forums/images/smilies/graemlins/frown.gif

I guess I will say congratulations to CincyFan. I hope Xavier goes on to win it all now, almost. I hope Davidson wins it all, actually, but I'll take Xavier 3rd behind Western Kentucky. Let's put it like this: Go mid-majors!!!

Preo32

i got Xavier winning the whole thing so i was basically goin crazy when they blew the 18 pt lead and then in OT when they were down 6 (for about 2 seconds) BJ Raymond did what he had to do, as well as just about every1 else.

Joe Alexander missed that FT and then i had a feeling it wsa OT since i ddnt think X would shoot a good shot. but i got Xavier beating Kansas in the finals, but if i wasnt in a bracket for money, id 100000000% want Davidson to go to the finals. but since it is for money, its 50-50. but Stephen Curry will probably have to get 60 points if they want to win(which is possible)

and im rooting for WKU b/c even thou i got UCLA in the E8 and i had WKU losing in the 1st (almost didnt thou) i think Xavier and WKU are similar teams and Xavier usually doesnt have problems with teams like them, but UCLA has Kevin Love and i think hes too big for Josh Duncan to stop. but i still think Xavier coudl beat them

Yes, Xavier definitely could go all the way.

Arrghh!! I had WVU beating Xavier on my bracket. I'm with you though on the mid-majors..it would be great to see another George Masonesque run to the final four.

hey you can always take West Virginia all the way in your game. Just don't beat up Xavier too bad if you have to play them. I always have one bracket every year that has Xavier winning it so I am still looking good.

As for West Virginia I hope the best of luck, despite hating your coach, and watch out since we all know that we are going to be scheduled each other each year now.

Thanks. Yes, I will try to bring the title home to Morgantown in this one! I will make sure to schedule Xavier in future years of my legacy as well.

you know the ties Bob Huggins have with Xavier. Just except the game to be decided at the end of the game always. Once in a blue moon one team will blow out the other, and every other year the opposite team wins, so in the next 10 years expect at least 5 victories looking on the bright side.

Wait, are they scheduled in real life for the next few years? I did not know that. That would be cool.

And I remember the story you told back on the 2K7 board about all the reasons you hate Bob Huggins. ;)

Well there is no official annoucement. But if you look at the past two years on Xavier's schedule (which I know no one knows since they don't follow them on here like me lol) you will see Kansas State which Bob Huggins was there 2 years ago, before coming over to WVU this past season. I see no reason of why they wouldn't schedule WVU. Everyone knows how much of a riviarly here so we kind of just expect to see it. No official word, but if anything I would see them dropping the K-State to pick up WVU for the rest of the time Huggins is there.

That would be cool. It would get both teams a quality non-conference opponent!

It was a good game but I didn't feel the excitement and intensity from that game like I did the from the close ones in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Idk it was weird. But the T.V. announcers were horrible and boring so they definitely didn't help. I know both teams wanted to win, but it just seemed like they didn't realize that this was a Sweet 16 game and if they lose they are out lol.

Yes, West Virginia made every attempt to lose and they succeeded in breaking my heart.

Hey CincyFan. Is Cincinnati's coach going to continue next year and play Memphis?

P.S. You a Bearcats and Musketeers fan? What the heck? Lol.

As far as I know about the UC bearcat schedule is: They were suppose to play Memphis next year? I didn't know that.

For Superjames and some other people on this board they know why I didn't like Huggins (and not an attack on superjames), but when he coached at UC I hated him so I hated the Bearcats. I always went to Xavier basketball camp growing up, before going to UK, so I was always a fan of Xaviers.

For football since Xavier has been undefeated in football for 30 straight years (we don't hvae a team anymore) I am a big hometown team kid. UC was always the closest school to me other than Miami-Ohio. I am a fan of them cause they are the redskins and my mom and bunch of friends went there for school so I follow them. For me growing up I was in band and we always did halftime shows once a year for a Bearcat game. They were mostly bad growing up but they were my team.

I am very weird when it comes to teams. Use to love Ohio State basketball until they knocked off my beloved Xavier last year (we got cheated, took our coach and recruits lol and look its an ohio school). I hate Michigan Basketball. However I love Michigan football (weird coming from someone who loves Ohio teams I know), and hate Ohio State football (what I actually dislike an Ohio team?)

So I love UC football, but hated their basketball program for the longest time. Kind of like UC basketball now since Huggins is gone, but since X is my team and their rivals really don't follow them too much. Love Miami-Ohio football and basketball unless they play X in bball and UC in football. I love the Cleveland Indians unless they play my Reds in the World Series in which I have to go with the Big Red Machine. Plus it works out since baseball they are in opposite divisions so its okay. For football I like the Browns a lot except for the two times they play the Bengals or if they have a better record than the Bengals then I want them to lose. My mom's side is all from Cleveland which is why I have a soft spot for them.

Like I said rooting for rivals in Ohio? in your words "What the Heck?"

Well, Huggins left to come to his alma mater. I guess I would feel quite slighted if I were a Kansas State fan, though. ;)

Newark, NJ - The West Virginia Mountaineers got off to a cold start in this one as Bruce Pearl's Tennessee Volunteers romped Bob Huggins' West Virginia Mountaineers by 15 points. The Mountaineers were able to keep up early in the 1st half as the lead was within five in the first 10 or so minutes. However, Tennessee would make a run towards the end of the 1st half that would extend their lead to 11 at halftime. A run early in the 2nd half extended their lead to as much as 20 points as Tennessee cruised on for the victory to advance to the Championship Game of the Legends Classic.

Alex Ruoff scored 16 points on 5/9 three point shooting for the Mountaineers. Deshaun Butler and Joe Alexander were the only other Mountaineers who scored in double figures as they scored 11 and 10 respectively.

The Mountaineers will play in the Legends Classic Consolation Game and will play the loser of the Texas/New Mexico State game.
