Can anyone please give some insight as to why their are no Home Run records listed in the records section of the game - wait a minute let me guess. BONDS!!
Is 2K catering to Barry's feelings or are they just to scared to list the record in fear that they might offend someone or create controversy. I think that says a lot about the games develpoers and publishers and explains why the game has some of the issues that it does.
I'm not bashing 2K or the game, but if you are going to be one of the leaders in Baseball game development, then you need to DO IT CORRECTLY FOR RESPECT OF THE GAME OF BASEBALL!

Maybe the MLB proposed for 2K to omit the record. The MLB does set guidelines for sports developers.

Barry Bonds is not part of the MLB Player's Union, therefore can not be in the game (including records), unless 2k wanted to seperately pay for it.

its not a real record anyway, bonds cheated his way to the record, the record belongs to aaron, just like the single season belongs to roger maris

oh god.. PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT *******! I'm sick of hearing about Bonds **** but they haven't even prove it yet. All they do is getting him in some hearing ****.. but no tests to prove it. I'm not on his side or against him.. I'm neutral until they get proof then we'll all know.
Sorry about my profanity, just frustrates me :box:

I don't care if he did cheat, he broke it, it's his record. Nothing You or I can say to change that. Live with it.

You realize Bonds failed at least one and there are reports that he failed two drug tests, right? Don't let facts get in the way of you screaming prove it though. Bonds even admitted to using the clear or the cream and thinking it was flax seed oil. What, do you live in a cave?

ok so if he got busted.. then where's his punishment.. other than people bugging him about the hearing ****. Why didn't he get suspended like the rest. I heard nothing about that.
Like someone said in the previous post.. he broke it period. The other players could have cheated too but you wouldn't know 'cause it's the past.

You know McGuire wasn't on anything either or Sammy Sosa for that matter.

mcguire DID use steroids, canseco proved it and mcguire refuses to comment on it, sosa did also and it was proven
and i strongly believe the next one to finally get busted is A-Rod, hes a snobby pr*ck and is using some kind of enhancer

Because his failed tests were not administered by MLB and they were from before the suspension policy was in place. I didn't say he failed an MLB drug test, but it has already been proven that he did use. There is no argument against that.
I am not even saying the record isn't his...because it is. They allowed him to keep playing until he broke it, so the way I see it, it is his record. But don't come in here saying prove it when there is testimony and failed test(s) that have proven it.

A-Rod is the same size he was when came into the league there is no way he on steriods. Barry Bonds on the other hand ballooned since coming into the league really grotest. Same thing with McGuire. There is no way in hell A-Rod is on steriods.

A) A-Rod is not the same size he was when he came into the league. He has grown...
B) because he came into the league at 19 and it is not unusual for people to grow thicker after the age of 19. It is actually to be expected in a professional athlete. It is just unusual when the growth spurt happens in a person's mid to upper 30's.

Couldn't they have simply gotten around this problem by making them arbitrary #'s (maybe 72 in a season instead of 73 and 760 for career instead of 762) and giving them to the fake Bonds?

Nah, no point 'casue if he did use steriods or whatever, half of his homeruns could have been from that. So it's easier to just leave it as is and say it's his record.. he broke it, it's his period, steriods or not.

1. No punishment has been given yet because the hearing isn't until June.
2. There is a channel called ESPN, check it out sometime.

So if i hit 74 or more home runs in this game (yeah right, now that I have realistic sliders.) it wont go down as the HR run record?
LAME!!
I dont give a crap about Bonds, just put his fake name, or CAP name or whatever in the HR record in the game.
Why omit the HR record all together?

His trainer guy Victor Conti was found guilty of distributing steroids. His other trainer Williams is in jail for not testifying. He failed an amphetamine test in 03, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, its a duck. Do you need a picture of him jamming a needle in his ***? Oh wait no that won't work it probably needs to say steroids on it for idiots like you to finally realize that he cheated at the game of baseball.

Thanks for responding all,
I really don't care anymore either if Bonds cheated or not - the point still out there is that we are missing a pretty big part of the game because of all of it. I would like to have the Home Run records in there, whoever they are given to, so we have a chance to beat them. Both for a season and lifetime. Like I said in my original post, I think that is pretty chicken of MLB, 2K, or both.

I don't see why it's not in the game. The Show has it in the game, and attributes the record to the "San Francisco Giants."
Why can't you guys just stop with the steroids talk. It's like beating a dead horse.

As was mentioned earlier in this post it has nothing to do with chicken or not. Barry Bonds is not part of the MLBPA. Therefore to use his name in a video game they would have to reach a separate deal and most likely if they made a deal with bonds, The MLBPA would not participate in the game. This means 2K has a choice. Have a game where the only real person is Barry Bonds, or leave Barry Bonds out and have a game with 99% real players. Why they removed the Home Run record all together and did not create one with a fake name or something like that I do not know.

To be honest, someone will come along to break it, records are meant to be broken. If you want to hate Bonds, hate him for the reason I do. He could NOT THROW OUT SID BREAM! Yes, I am a Pirates fan and although it is 15 years later (well will be 16 years later), still hate him for it. You cannot blame that whole series on him, but still. If the Cubs fans can blame Steve Bartman I can blame Bonds.

JaFFiTh I will prove it to you - Look at how small he was when he started and look how huge he is now - STEROIDS! His head grew like 3 sizes. If you honestly do not believe he used steroids then you are blind. Sosa was the same way...
