(yes I am OnTheBrink from IGN. decided to post my franchise on here.)

Welcome to the 2007-2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Season. Let's meet the coaches and the players.

Head Coach:
Mike Krzyzewski

Mike Krzyzewski, better known as Coach K, is heading into his 27th year as the head coach at Duke University. His current record at Duke is 714-203(.779) and overall record of 787-262(.750). His NCAA tournament record is an astounding 68-19(.772), which is a record for most wins in the NCAA tournament. He has been picked to coach the Olympic team in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but this year, he has his team focused on the NCAA Tournament.

Assistant Coaches:
Johnny Dawkins and Steve Wojciechowski

Both assistant coaches played at Duke during their career. Johnny Dawkins played in the NBA for nine seasons, with the Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons. In 1996, he came to be a analyst for Duke, and joined the coaching staff in 1998.
Steve Wojciechowski, or "Wojo", is the other assistant coach on the sideline. At 5'11", he is the "Big Man" coach. He is a fan favorite for his coaching style and intensity. They both helped coach Duke to a National Championship in 2001.

Let's Meet the Duke Blue Devils!

Starting Lineup:

PG #3: Greg Paulus:
http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2007/0110/ncb_a_paulus_195.jpg
Greg will be back at the point guard position for his junior season. He will be one of the captains of the team. He is expected to lead the team in assists and will be a threat from beyond the arc.

SG #21: DeMarcus Nelson:

DeMarcus is in his senior season, and after a disappointing exit in the first round of the NCAA tournament, courtesy of VCU, he decided to come back and go for a National Championship. DeMarcus is looked as the team leader, and will be expected to lead Duke in scoring.

SF #30: Jon Scheyer:
http://www.nmnathletics.com.edgesuite.net/pics21/200/QD/QDBTRQBHCRYHHQM.20070910141102.jpg
Jon is a sophomore, with great range. He can shoot the three pointer and will make you pay if you leave him open. He is one of Duke's great young players. He will be a big part of the outside game, as he will be counted on to make big three pointers against the bigger teams on the inside.

PF #12: Kyle Singler:
http://www.nmnathletics.com.edgesuite.net/pics15/200/JW/JWGGEVBLAYHSDTV.20070910141830.jpg
Kyle Singler is one of the three Duke freshman this year. He is from Medford, Oregon and was a 5 star recruit. He accepted the offer to play at Duke by turning down Kansas, UCLA, and Arizona. He is able to play the 3 or 4 and has good range. Kyle will be a key rebounder in Duke's game plan, but will also get his shots.

C #42: Lance Thomas:
http://www.nmnathletics.com.edgesuite.net/pics20/200/XL/XLXDRQTVJVDWQZD.20070910142103.jpg
Lance Thomas is a 6'8" sophomore, who did not get much playing time last year, but will start this year. He will be Duke's starting center in games where they are not facing someone taller than 6'10". Lance is a good rebounder and will also be counted of for defense.

The Bench:
SG #15: Gerald Henderson:
Gerald Henderson is a sophomore and will be expected to play a significant amount of minutes off the bench if he is not starting. He has great athleticism and can drive to the basket at will. He can dunk with the best in college and can drain the three when he is open. Look for Henderson to have some valuable minutes off the bench.

SF #20: Taylor King:
Taylor King is a 4 star prospect from Santa Ana, California and played at Mater Dei High School. He turned down offers from Southern Cal, Syracuse, Villanova, and Gonzaga. He has unbelievable range and can drain the three pointer from any distance. Taylor will get minutes off the bench and will be a contributer in points.

C #55: Brian Zoubek:
Brian is a sophomore who was working hard during the offseason to improve but suffered a broken foot and his progress was halted. Brian will be a big defensive player and a key rebounder. He will start when there are players starting over 6'10" tall.

SG #2: Nolan Smith:
Nolan is a 4 star recruit that played at Oak Hill Academy. He spurned Georgetown, Louisville, and Charlotte to play at Duke. He will be the backup point guard for Greg Paulus but will play a few minutes a game. He will have to play well if he wants to get an increase in minutes, but will be an integral part of the team in the future.

SF #14: David McClure:
David is a junior, who will be called upon for his defense. He is not an offensive threat, but will make the occasional shot if he is open. He was hurt in his sophomore season and did not play much. He will only get minutes when the Devils need a defensive player on the floor.

SG #5: Martynas Pocius:
Marty Pocius is a Junior shooting guard who will not be getting much playing time at all. Unless Duke is blowing a team out of the water, you will find Pocius on the bench. He is from Lithuania and can make the occasional three, but will play only in the case of a Duke blow out.

PG #41: Jordan Davidson:
Jordan Davidson is a junior point guard, who like Pocius, will not be getting playing time unless it is a blow out.

SF #1, Justin Hawkins vs Jon Scheyer

PF #15, Herb Pope vs Kyle Singler

C #31, Hatila Passos vs Lance Thomas

Matchup of the Night:
Herb Pope vs Kyle Singler

What Dickie V says on the match up:
We have two diaper dandies on the floor tonight. Herb Pope had multiple offers to play elsewhere but chose to play for the Aggies. Next is one of my favorite diaper dandies, Kyle Singler. He is a very versatile player and can play multiple positions. I think if Kyle Singler can control the paint against Pope, I see no chance that the Aggies will win this game.

Good luck, though I wish them all the bad luck in the world this afternoon as West Virginia and Duke will battle for a trip to the Sweet Sixteen.
