Arkansas ready for new season
After a tough 06/07 season, in which the Razorbacks went 21-13 while getting crushed in the first round of the NCAA tourney by USC, Arkansas seems poised for a different outcome this season.
It all starts with the coach, as John Pelphrey replaces Stan Heath for this year, leaving South Alabama after coaching them for 5 years.
After that, it's down to the players. There is no doubt this team is experienced, returning all 5 starters, and holding 6 seniors on the team. With a multitude of talent and experience, this team could do some great things in the SEC, as they are the preseason favorite to win the SEC West, followed by Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Ole Miss.
"We've had this core for a while now," said Pelphrey, "and with most of them being seniors, I very much look forward to coaching this team and trying to bring home a national title."
Well, here we go (again). Hopefully I'll stay with this one :D
I think yall will like the game recaps...

Starters
Sr PG Gary Ervin 6', 79 ovr, 78 3pt, 89 handle
An inconsistent yet talented guard, very quick, but sometimes makes very bad decisions.
So SG Patrick Beverley 6'1'', 84 ovr, 83 3pt, A- potential
Easily the most talented player on the team, can score in bunches from three or slashing. Good defender who often finds the open man for assists as well.
Sr SG Sonny Weems 6'6'', 78 ovr, 75 3pt, 94 dunk
A matchup problem for many because of his ability to knock down the three, a very good slasher and high flyer who will light up the crowd.
Sr PF Darian Townes 6'10'', 79 ovr, 88 LowO, 99 block
One of the best shot blockers in the nation, a big PF who can score and rebound very well.
Sr C Steven Hill 7', 73 ovr, 95 block
Again, one of the best shot blockers in the country, the 7' monster makes opponents cringe when they go to the basket, but needs to work on his offensive game to truly be a threat in the SEC.
Bench
Sr PF Chris Thomas 6'8'', 77 ovr
Great 6th man who can come in at PF and knock down the mid-range jumper. Very athletic for his size and can do it all.
So SG Stephen Welsh 6'2'', 70 ovr, 82 3pt
Decent defender, very good shooter but not a good ball handler.
So PF Michael Washington 6'10'', 68 ovr
Not a good shot blocker, but can develop into a good offensive threat with A- potential.
Fr SF Nate Rakestraw 6'5'', 65 ovr, 82 3pt
Can't do much else but shoot right now, as he only has decent speed for a SF, but hopefully can develop nicely.
Sr PF Vincent Hunter 6'10'', 67 ovr, 70 3pt
A big man who can knock down the open three, will probably only go in games if size is needed.
First game: @ Texas (rivalry game!)

you do know the only reason why he stopped the Syracuse one is cause they are horrible in real life and he is actually just a bandwaggon fan. Now he is jumping ship.

Yes, I love those 8 seed Razorbacks! I'll jump on the train right before they lose to UNC!
EDIT: Oh, and I'll probably have to start THIS over too. I'm going to download the "rating correction" rosters from OS, and it'll be much better and realistic to play with (all the players are rated how they're supposed to be.)
So, this time I'll give ya'll a choice of who I'm going to use.
Pittsburgh
Texas
Arkansas
Vanderbilt
Clemson

Not Texas cause they're too good. Either stick with Arkansas or Vanderbilt. Pitt would be pretty cool too.

any but Texas. Vandy and Clemson are both very good, as are the other two. Vandy is good, but ur best player Foster is a Sr, so id say any of the other 3 if ur gonna stick it out for a few season

What no West Coast teams to choose from??? I so disappointed I can't even vote. I know you arleady did Arizona State, so I won't put them on the write in ballet but I am adding
Cal and Washington State to your list of teams :)
Cal would be very good. They got Ryan Anderson who is a stud and they play in by far the toughest conference :)
Washington State would be a challenge to continue what T. Bennett started. Its a veteren group of players hard to recruit to Pullman and in real life Bennett name is already being linked to Indiana so the idea of a new coach taking over isn't out of the relm of possibilitys
If you really must stick with your list I say stick with the Razorbacks

Deuce, I say you are a psychic man. If I were to do a pac-10 team, Cal and Wazzu would be my choices, and I was actually thinking about them. I'll have to test Cal out, Wazzu just has too many seniors, although I love their shooters and Low.
BTW, I'm now looking at Kentucky. They're not that good a team actually (like 82 ovr) but have some good players, and I love the tradition of them.
So, updated list...
Cal
Kentucky
Arkansas

I would've really liked Vandy, Clemson, Pitt, or Arkansas. Cal would be fine too.
