I don't think sliders will help your homerun problem. You really need to get good at pitching to alleviate the issue. Have you tried practicing pitches in the in-game pitching tutorial?

Here's a 2K made video to help you: http://www.operationsports.com/viewvideo.php?id=757916&no=1&outof=1

The pitching tutorial will give you feedback on effectiveness (very important), gesture, and release timing. If you master these mechanics, you will no long have a homerun issue.

Sliders will help though. Move the AI's contact and power bars down. Or checkout the AWESOME SLIDERS topic on page 2 of these forums.

Not saying it wouldn't help at all, but giving up 10 homeruns a game on the pro level is a lack of pitching ability.

Yeah, it's got to be your pitching. Once you get it down, the AI will be lucky to hit 1 or 2 homers per game. Until you get better, try playing Rookie. But definitely take advantage of that pitching tutorial. You can throw as many warm pitches as you want, and you can use it any time during a game.
