ive known about no weather effects online before i had the ability to play online but it makes me wonder why not? would the snow effects cause more lag in the gameplay or what? i jus thought it would be so cool to play a game in the snow online against another person does anyone know the exact reason why there is no online weather effects and why have they not put it in yet?

at least we get 1pm, 4pm, & 8pm gametimes

for a while everygame was a 1pm start time

i know in 2k5 when you play UNranked you can change the weather

i think its because the whether really impacts the game in 2k8 so there would just be people complaining about fumbles, slipping on kickoffs and stuff like that

i'd like to see it in leagues at least..it would be cool to play in the snow or rain.it doesn't even have to be the heavy stuff..just some light rain or snow

To take this a step further, it is done to prevent latency. (or lag as most people call it) The speed of the game takes a tremendous hit when the system is trying to caculate weather effects and it gets even worse when trying to synchronize it over the internet with another system.

They tried it in 2k3 but it just proved to be too much of a problem because you cant factor in the speed of the internet and point to point connections between 2 random users. On a controlled LAN bandwidth would not be an issue.

2k4 had the best weather effects...Playing at the browns stadium in the afternoon was the most thrilling experience to date. Man I hate EA so much

It contributes to the lag in the game and some effects like slipping..
