I was pitching a perfect game with Ian Kennedy, Scott Rolen ended it a second ago with a HR, but I was working on his changeup.

I think the pitch is underrated, 2K only scored it a 51 which is pretty underated since it is well known to be his strongest pitch, so I was working to build up the rating for the pitch, I believe that helps a pitchers overall progress toward their potential, and using payoff pitches I built up the pitch rating by the 5th inning to 59.

I was intentionally throwing balls they wouldn't swing at into the catcher's glove at a point I set outside the strikezone to get the most payoff pitches. Then I looked down and noticed the changeup rating was once again in white text and back at 51.

I didn't miss any payoff pitches and for some reason the pitch reset.

Is there a limit to how high you can build up a particular pitch in one game? 10?

Not sure about your question, but on the topic of Payoff Pitches: I sometimes wish they would've kept it like it was in 2K7: if you missed one, it only dropped you down one notch instead of all the way back to the white. But then again, it was almost too easy to max it out in 2K7.

So if you miss one pitch then it goes back to white? Maybe I just missed a pitch? It wasn't on the HR, but I could've missed one and maybe not realized. I thought it might max at 10, but missing one and not noticing till after is more likely.

Yeah, I've had it go back to white after missing one Payoff.

You can build it up past +10. However, if you miss 1 it does go back to +0.

You can, just press the A button in the location you want the catcher's glove.
