Me and my buddy decided to get a friendly NFL leauge going for a site were on, he picked the Panthers (douche) so I decided to go with a team I thought had alot of promise, the Jets. can I get some help with how to set up the team?

lol I wouldnt give Pennington Leadership...have you ever watched a Jets game lately? One of my good friends is a huge Jets fan who has season tickets and that is one reason why the Jets suck, b/c Pennington always plays with no emotion, and you can tell. I'm not sure what I would give Pennington, lol but not leadership.

I think Kerry Rhodes is at least a silver.

Nick Mangold and Chris Baker are also possibilities to be made, but what you have looks fine.

I'd give Pennington the Play-action ability.

And Pace and Harris both should probably get Pass Rush Bonus.

well, i always just looked at leadership as a generic ability, but Play fake works to. Rhodes got bumped in to bronze to, I love him but theres not alot of room in Silver, and as much as I love Washington outside of returning kicks im not sure how much Id use him. Updated Jenkins based on scouting reports and Pace on his 40 time

Sorry, I don't think the Jets have a gold WR on the team. You might be able to get a silver from Coles and Cotchery is probably a bronze.

Admittedly though, I don't know where you would find a gold on that team.

Yeah, Cotchery isnt a fast guy, for sure but I think after watching alittle tape I could probably do Tough Over The Middle, Soft Hands and Magic Feet or whatever the sideline catch attribute is.

Give Faneca quick feet. Hes known for getting to the 2nd level, and quick feet helps him do that. It helps him in pretty much all of the aspects, run blocking, pass blocking, pulling, trapping.

Oh I had only seen Cotchery play once, and he had like a 65 yard touchdown on a catch-and-run slant, so I thought he was fast.

I dont know if you are playing for realism, by having the actual best players on the team or not... but having two offensive lineman and two running backs is going to hurt you more than help you. Maybe 2 HBs, but for sure not two O Lineman.

Also, Jericho Cotchery is no where near gold level, he is more like a bronze. And although I personally like Coles, he isnt a gold player either. A silver for sure, but not gold.

Thomas Jones should be a silver player. Id give him Quick Feet and Branching Tackles or Strength Bonus. (that dude has some canons for arms!)

If your going to use Faneca, he is a gold. He is a top 5 offensive lineman in the NFL, so if your going to use him make him a gold with Bulldozer, Strength Bonus, Stonewall, Brick Wall, and Stamina Bonus.

Kerry Rhodes is also at least a silver player. One of the most underrated players in the NFL.

But bottom line, if you want a productive overall team, dont use 2 OL and 2 HBs. Use 1 of each, or no O lineman at all since the generic lineman do pretty well.

Well of course he isnt in the same category as don maynard. that's not the point at all. What we are talking about is putting together an NFL team, and your gold tier players are going to be the 2 best players on the team.

Are Osi Umenyiora and Plaxico Burris on the same level as Reggie White and Jerry rice? Of course not. But they are the Giants 2 best players, so if you were building the Giants, they would be your golds.


Cotchery was clearly the Jets 2nd best player last season, and 83 catches for 1130 yards isnt exactly something to sneeeze at. So if you were re-creating last yrs team, he'd be a gold.



P.S. I'd add Justin Miller to the squad..he would have started opposite Revis if he hadnt gotten injured..give him speed.

And give Leon Washington return specialist..trust me, he'll be plenty quick.
If you are taking into account free agent signings then the golds should be harris and faneca, and cotchery would be a silver.

Comparing re-creating current NFL rosters with the legends in the game is a little silly..its not the same thing at all. You will certainly have gold tier players who are nowhere close to hall of fame caliber.
