Online Leagues Are Now Up - 3/25/2008

Ronnie i have a serious question that i think others also want to know, if you created a league before the so called "patch", will you need to create another league to ensure that there is no problems with the draft, etc.?

Hey sorry I missed this earlier. It might go through an update later, but for the most part, we've heard people pretty happy that you can alter so much and change things about your own page. You will notice a couple changes as you dig.

There are some great league examples of years passed. I don't think I mentioned a new style, all I said was that they were being tested.

a couple quick suggestions, if they ever do an update to the leagues this year or next.

add in the option to input 3 and 4 game series' into the schedule. I know the option is already their, but to manually input the whole schedule literally takes me three hours.

Secondly, divisional races in the game. There is no separation on the leaderboard in leagues. Tell them to make it look like the real thing. Other than that, thanks for all the updates, bud.

we know there is a roster update coming up around opening day possibly, if we create a league now does the roster being used kick in once u create the league or once the league is full and u activate it..i ask this as i dont want to start my season up until the roster is up

Online Leagues will NOT adjust for every roster update. There are many reasons for this, the most notable that the leagues can do this if they so chose. If we were to just automatically do this, it would create a large league player drop when a big trade happens that makes you lose your best player (think about fantasy leagues). Also, it would cause coding issues with leagues that are drafted. Hope this helps.

ok my league is not a draft setup as we will be using regular rosters, so going by ur answer im presuming it is the same with regular rosters that it is effective when u activate the league which is the same as when u activate the league if u were setting up for a draft time/date

Cant edit injuries from the website? That's disappointing. I still have 3 teams that are screwed bc of the fatigue glitch. 2k said a few days, its now almost been 2 weeks and still no solution or follow up.

I always shut injuries off in my leagues, and make a max inning rule for relievers. 5 man rotation also.

The only real way to make a statement is to not buy the game. Unfortunately, even if you convinced everyone on these boards and everyone on the OS boards to do this, I don't think the statement would be enough as you're talking such a small % of the overall population of people that actually bought this game.

However, according to Kush Gamer, who used to frequent the OS boards, he said a lot of pressure was put on the development team by the executives to score high on reviews. Obviously, this game got pretty much hammered this year from every major reviewer, so maybe that will be the motivating factor for them to actually put out a game next year that works the way it is supposed to out of the box and not make their paying customers sit around for the better part of a month waiting for a patch to make the game play the way it was supposed to.

Regardless of whether or not you think The Show is better or not, the review scores tell a one sided story when looked at from a high level. You have one game scoring in the 6's and 7's and the other in the 8's and 9's. 2K will have to close that gap.

It doesnt matter if ronnie talks to them by that time, your draft WILL NOT START!!! i have tried several times to start a draft, but it continually does NOT start, even if Ronnie contacts 2k developers, it will not be fixed by 8 tonight, sry for the bad news

Alright I got the official word:
Some of the new stuff that IS implemented for the online leagues has made it go a little haywire. They are working to try to get the drafts and game stat updates up. As you can see, the website is fine and you aren't having problems accessing your leagues. The information isn't lost, it's just a matter of getting the drafting back up. I am sorry for those of you who have to push your draft leagues back but it is necessary for the new changes. Thanks for your patience, hopefully it won't be long at all.

i tell ya the one thing i do hope for is what banky mentioned the other day where they put up divisions and can generate schedule depending on your numbers, if there is one part of being an admin i hate is doing up a schedule lol

fingers cross Oh my God dude it's the biggest pain in the *** when starting a new season as you 1st have to draw up a draft list for the schedule and then edit the web!

I have templates I use from past leagues ranging from 4 game per week series against same team of 2 on the road 2 home, 4 all home or road then 2nd half reverse and for the new season 5 man rotation 3 either on the road or home next 2 reverse!

People take Admins like us for granted and then after we give chance after chance then fianlly have to give a boot we end up the bad guy with ugly posts plastered around the boards!

I set up a test league and noticed that the timer is broken!

I wanted to set it for 3:00 AM @ 2:50 AM and I kept getting this Error: Date/time selected is in the past. Please select again.

It would make me pick a start time @ 5:00 AM the earliest even though it was only 2:50 AM.

I did not set a time after this as I'll wait for the timer to be fixed 1st!

I'm suggesting 2K Sports be more consistent and more cohesive in their branding. I love the new "I said 2K, K!?!" campaign, but when you play their games, there's no sense that they are part of one brand that is 2K. From different menu systems in all of their games to additional features that are bugged, they just need things to be ironed out. For instance, Brinkman at one point talked about the menu system in MLB 2K8 being similar to other 2K Sports games. Obviously, that's not the case.

It's not good when the only consistent with your games is that online leagues never work properly. Again, 2K has been my choice for gaming because I feel they bring more to the table, but they just lack reliability.

A major problem that I am having is actually being able to see what leagues I am in on the 2k site. I am in two league's, one of which has started, the other has not. When I log into 2ksports.com, neither league is listed under "My Leagues", and furthermore, when I try to join/create league, I am hit with..."Invalid Title".
