Does anyone know if they have updated the rosters for MLB 2k7? Since MLB 2k8 is unplayable online my friends and I are looking at selling MLB 2k8 and buying MLB 2k7 and playing online that way.
(And before anyone says anything, I tried posting this in the MLB 2k7 section but if you go there you'll see what a ghost town it's become).

they wont do any roster update for 2k7
why would they when they have 2k8 out that would make no sense to do that

I would really like that, but I don't think many people will be playing 2k7 online. As well, I don't think they would update the rosters at this point they, after all want you to buy their game.

Well, my friends and I will be playing MLB 2k7 online, so I don't really care about anyone else. So, no one knows the answer to this question?

By the way, just to warn you, can't 2k terminate online play of any game once the next version is out?

I'm asking because I don't know the answer to the question. I would think that's obvious.

If there hasn't been an update available online recently, I doubt there will be one for 2K7. Sorry about that, generally we find that people start playing the online game of 2K8 which would have the most up-to-date roster.

But we can't play MLB 2k8 because of the online lag. And you said in an earier post that there was no guarantee that the patch would fix the online lag. So if the online lag for MLB 2k8 can't be fixed can we get a roster update for MLB 2k7?

I will be talking to the online developer today to see if, with the introduction of the online leagues, what exactly is going on with the online play this year that is different from last year. I will report back, stay tuned.

Honestly, at this point there's not much more you can ask for. Some type of response is better than none. At least you know someone's listening. I know, with all the complainst floating around, I personally love the game. My only issue at this time is the online lag. I really hope thay can get it fixed. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I agree with you Temmpus. I appreciate a few people being open to changing their opinions around here. Like I promised in my original admin post, I want to be a resource here and will try my best to get you guys answers. On that note, I hope to have something from the online dev this afternoon. Regardless, they should get a good taste when they have their games online this weekend.

Ronnie can you please find out if theres anyway 2k can do atleast just one update for MLB 2K7. I would be happy with just one update which could be the opening day update for for the 2008 season on MLB 2K7. I made a mlb 2k7 league and have been trying to move players to there 2008 team with a extra gamer profile I have making trades with myself to get the right people on the right team to update my league rosters but the problem I have is there are way to many people missing from the last roster update 2k put out which is 9/20/07. I studied all the roster updates and all of them from 6/18/07 to 9/20/07 are missing KEY players we would need to update our leagues to make them closer to the 2008 rosters. Mainly guys like PEDRO MARTINEZ,KERRY WOOD & JOEL ZUMAYA are not even on any of these update from these dates. Please try and find out if they can just give us loyal MLB 2K7 guys some kind of update to work with. I wouldnt care if it was just only one update anything is better than the 9/20 update they put out then, they just added alot of rookies but at the same time removed so many veterans that are key players on the 2008 rosters. If we could call guys up from minors online would be the most incredible thing they could ever add to a sports title especially BASEBALL. We are so limited to what we can do with our online rosters. If we could only edit height, weights, ages and especially jersey #'s It would make online rosters updatable very easily. I am not saying let guys mess with players ratings or attirbutes cause we all know where that would go with guys making players all have 100 ratings. They could block that but atleast let us edit all the other things online for our rosters. I really love how MLB 2K7 looks and how smooth it plays over MLB 2k8. Sure the new hitting and pitching mechanics of MLB 2K8 or excellent addition but MLB 2K7 just looks incredible to me still.
Any help or you finding any info out is really appreciated. I usually talk with Christian at 2ksports but since u have been a great help on here I thought I would ask. I'm pretty positive they wont offer anything for MLB 2K7 since they have MLB 2K8 NOW but I can always hope.

I will send them an e-mail but I do think there's going to be some difficulty here. Hey, question for you guys, is this set-up like NCAA 2K7 where you can send your own roster updates online? Because that might be an alternative solution to your guys desire. As far as playing 2K7 online vs 2K8 cause of lag, I am talking to some of the online dev people in hopes of a solution. Stay tuned.

That's not a bad idea. Although, I traded in 2K7 towards 2K8. I don't think I would have a problem picking it up again.

Thanks for the quick response. Well the roster updates are like this. If you created a league today you would half to use the last roster update they put out. The only way to get a different roster update for your league is you half to find someone that created a league when they roster update came out and hope they wouldnt mind giving it to you but still on the online desk you can download any of those past updates but its only for offline unless like I said you use the last available update which is 9/20 u can do a league with that one but again theres over 25 big name players missing like B.J. RYAN,SCOTT ROLEN,RANDY JOHNSON,ERIK BEDARD,ETC....

I have mlb 2k7 now how do i send my roster updates in like you were talking about with ncaa 2k7? You mean i can update them offline then send them to 2k to have them put them online for me? or are u saying if i update everything offline can i bring them online with me? the answer is NO. Once u log into abox live and go online the last roster update loads but like i said before if u have a league with say the roster of 6/18/07 once you go in your league it will have all the players there from that particular update. Same as if you have a league with 6/18 rosters and then there was another update /11/2007 that new update with whatevernew players would not go into your league rosters u still would have the 6'18 rosters and those players not the players they added with any new update. Now if you played in the regualr lobby yes then you would get the new players from the latest update.
I hope I explained it enough.

I don't mean this as a solution to those of you who have picked up 2K8. I was just wondering for those of you who want to play 2K7 for whatever reason.

That's unfortunate. Alas, I'll inquire about a 2K7 roster update post-2K8 roster update.
