Need franchise mode answers please.

My brother in law and I keep trying the whole 2 player franchise deal and it is pretty dang sweet to say the least on the toughest difficulty, increase the pitch speed to 2/3's the bar, and speed the outfielders up a tad to make it very realistic. BUT... EVERY freak'in season one of us get fired. When I pick my team... I want it to be MY TEAM... I want to stay around as long as I want and to use the minors and all that good stuff the game has to offer that I really like..
I've tried GM goals off and the re-sign no matter what option on and still got fired after making the playoffs with the padres who never get there. Please let me know how to keep my team for years and years!!! I LOVE this game, the best I've ever played, everything about it... I've played minor league baseball for 7 going on 8 years and it portrays the game of baseball very well!!!

my brother in law and I both did.. so we thought we did something wrong. re-did the whole thing and the same thing happened. he was the brewers and I was the padres. he got fired and no job offer and I got fired and offered his job. funny but it still sucked. Any ideas on what I could do differently?

maybe somehow that feature doesn't affect 2-player franchises? a glitch perhaps?

haha you're right... but our thinking was to try to do it right without a fantasy draft like we usually do. my single player franchise I'll play All the games so hopefully I don't get my tail kicked very often. Thanks bud. they should add this to their list of things to fix online though because it is a ton of fun to play against your buddies unless I'm just doing something wrong of course
