I'm trying to play my friend during franchise mode and it would not let him play the "CPU" team??? Every other baseball game, football game or hockey game I've ever played lets a human control the opposiing team during a season. Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to play online. We just want to have a 2 player franchise...and have him control the opposing team for my franchise anc vice versa. Is this possible? And if so, how?

That's not what the OP asked. Try again.

Yes, this has been a sore spot for many people the past 2-3 years. 2K is going 'EA' on us!
(EA's motto: You paid for it, sure, but that don't mean ****. We'll tell YOU how we want you to play the games we make. Like it or lump it; either way you WILL buy it.)

So i take it, its not possible? I was hoping I was overlooking some settings or something.

the only way 2 players can play eachother in a franchise is to start a 2 player franchise.

We have started a 2 player franchise. We each can play our own teams' game against the CPU, but we haven't been able to control the opposing team.
I'm not sure if im making myself clear... so in other words: Im the Reds, he's the Tigers...so when when my Reds are playing some random team (i.e. the Cubs), we want my friend to be able to be that team. But at the team select screen before the start of the game, we are unable to move the 2nd controller icon to the opposing team. If this is something the game just can't do, thats fine. Just curious if it is just a setting or something we are overlooking.

when will a comapny...i guess 2k at somepoint realize that not only do i wanna play 2 player franchise but i want multiplayer franchise online. There has to be a way to make it happen. integrate it into leagues or something. If I have 8 people i want the rest fo the teams to be CPU and have multi year franchise...*sigh* its sad no one has tried yet.

i dont think its that no one has tried but you have to remember what your asking is almost impossible. Where would they host all these franchises as well as leagues and such. Trust me if it was as simple as yous ay they would have ad it done 2k has always been above the curve as far as online sports gaming is concerned.
They may not always hit a home run but more often then not their online options have been great.
