Hi all
Is there any way in franchise mode to tweak the stats of a certain player? I am playing as the jays, and for some reason Lyle Overbay is dropping the ball at 1st base about once per game. Is there anyway I can bump up his fielding skills? In real life there is no way he is dropping the ball once per game...

First let me say that I am sorry that you are playing as the Jays. j/k
All jokes aside, yes there is. You to the manage tab while in your franchise and then go down to rosters. You find Lyle Overbay in your roster and then press "a" for xbox and probably the "x" on a sony product. Upon doing so, it will give you a bunch of options such as releasing him, name him team captain, promote/demote, and at the bottom of the list is "Edit Player" That's what you want. Click on that and then cycle through the options until you find the defensive parts and adjust accordingly.
One tip for you.....If Overbay is in a contract year (has one year left on his contract) and you intend to keep him around, re-sign him to a longer deal before adjusting his attributes. Otherwise, he will be commanding a lot more money in his contract.
The problem too may not be Overbay. It could be your in-game sliders. Go to the My 2K tab, down to "my franchise" and then to difficulty. From there you may need to adjust your sliders to account for the amount of infield errors. Or the problem could be other players having poor defensive ratings or if you are using the right stick for you defensive throws, you could be releasing the ball too late causing your players to throw the ball in the dirt thus increasing your chances at errant throws.
Hope these suggestions help.

How are things working out for you?
As far as Lyle Overbay dropping balls at first is concerned, after playing against the Blue Jays in my Red Sox 'chise, I noticed that my first baseman was either dropping at least one throw or letting one get by him at least once every game.
I have only noticed this while playing at the B'Jays and I haven't played at home verse them yet, so I am not sure if this is a Skydome (or whatever it is called now) glitch or a Blue Jays glitch.
If the other suggestions worked for you, great! If they didn't, I think that this may be a glitch in the game. Very frustrating.

I gave Lyle maximum defensive stats using the player editor, and he hasn't dropped one ball since. :)

Glad to hear that. It's just too bad that that was what had to be done. Have you had any other problems or questions on the game? I'll be glad to help you out as best I can.
