Haven't seen anyone else mention this, but does anyone else have the problem that during the 7th inning game recap the announcer ALWAYS says that any home run that was hit was an inside the park homer? It's very annoying!

Also, less importantly - Frank Thomas hasn't been with Oakland for a few years now - why is he still wearing a green and yellow hat in his bio pic?

I dont have exact answers but just my best guesses as to why...

1) Yes I am getting the inside the park homerun a lot from the announcers, im assuming it is a mistake and they will fix it eventually as it is not a game breaking problem.

2) As far as peoples pictures go, I dont believe it is that easy to get a picture of a player when ever they want. I'm assuming what happens is, once every year or every 2 years, every team takes bio pictures of all their players. The same pictures are used for all bios: sports games, sports programs, and sports websites. Now if someone was to be traded they wont get a new picture until these team pictures are done again. For various reasons a player could miss getting theirs done that year, hence a couple players still have their old teams hat on.

Hope this helps.

Good point, but the Jays website has had his correct picture up for a long time now:
http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=123245

And even players signed this year are correct already:
http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=150148
http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=121409

Etc Etc

I see, Very true.

I guess it depends on who has rights to which pictures. It could be a variety of things, maybe the person in charge of the bio pics for MLB 2k8 were a little lazy and just went with last years, im not sure.

You'd think they would just purchase the rights to teams photos from each of the MLB websites. And just insert those instead of just reusing previous years, but I dont know the full details of that process.

Like I said, just throwing out some suggestions/guesses as I dont know the exact answer.

2K Sports currently has the exclusive official MLBPA license, which is why EA had to stop making games. It is 2K's responsibility to be fair to the buyers of its products to use that license to the fullest extent, which would include UPDATING the pictures EVERY YEAR. It's absolutely egregious that they neglected to do so, I'm sure EA would have kept on top of this bc they understand that having an exclusive license means that you should produce only the highest quality games year after year. I'm so glad that EA will be back next year. Don't get me wrong, I have gotten to like 2K8, but there are just so many bugs and presentation errors that makes me wish there was an alternative game to buy for the 360.

Do you mean the PA announcer, or Jeannie and Steve, cause I don't think I've noticed it yet. Not that I really pay too much attention when they are talking during that time, but I would like to try and hear it for myself.
