The problems that you guys are having with the lobbies and lobby challenges (freezing when accepting a challenge, the ranking system etc.) are being addressed in a forth coming title update. Those of you who play NBA 2K8 know that there are twice as many people online and those lobbies are much more functional (and as you said online play was better for MLB 2K7). Whatever is happening in the MLB 2K8 lobbies is related to the bugs being addressed in the title update. And no, they couldn't provide me with an exact ETA on the title update or an exact fix list but it's coming shortly and the fix list is extensive, but will not deal with EVERY detail everyone of you will want, but will deal with everyone that will get it fully operational.

As for lag in the game and what the impact of the patch (currently in the hands of MS) will be on lag, MLB does not run at 60 fps pre-patch which is much more noticeable online than offline. Online, the inability to run at 60 fps results in gameplay where each frame takes 1/60 of a second when currently frames are running much slower. With 60 fps, the game advances the state of the system by 1/60 of a second in 1/30 of a real world second (that equals half-speed gameplay). Basically, with an improved frame rate, online play should see even more improvement than offline play. That and the title update should vastly improve online play. For those interested, in offline play, the game advances the state of the system by however long it takes to draw a frame which affects the "smoothness" of gameplay as you have all noticed. Anyway, I hope to have more information on this soon. Keep your eyes out for info!
