Why was this game released for?

This game was clearly not ready as we can see in the "offline" and "online" features of the game. How dumb is 2K? Don't they have people test these games before they're released? So much for next gen..RBI Baseball on NES that came out in 1987 is more next gen than this piece of cr*p.

You kind of have to do a double take and work your brain to answer. I think those of you peeing your pants over the games problems don't factor in the pressure a company puts on developers to get a game out. Now, the direction of the game probably could have been better, but I'm sure there was a lot of burden from "up top" telling developers to get it done faster.
