View Full Version : Who would rather this game be fixed than have new features next year?

I just read a post and thought about this....
I personally would much rather have this game polished and lookin all purdy next year opposed to 2K trying to add some "new" feature to make the game better.
Anyone else with me on this? This game has enough features but fails to roduce....so just fix it.
Also I hate it when a company takes away something that works!

There are plenty of features in the game now, and I really like the new mechanics. I would like to see all of these polished up and a lot of the bugs and issues resolved for next year. If they just focus on fixing and tweaking what they have now, and don't add anything new, then next year's game could be really, really good. We'll see.

It may need some polishing, but overall it is a very solid game.
This is the problem that developers have when they have a very short window to get a game out. When we think of non-sports titles, they take several years to develop even if it is a follow-up to a previous game. (e.g. Halo, COD, GTA)
Granted we may say now that we wouldn't mind having a new baseball game come out every other year provided they kept up with the updates for the opposite years. But based on the demands from the consumer and problems that are experienced during gameplay, waiting two years is not realistic. If 2K or EA would wait two years to address major glitches that can not be fixed in a patch, they would lose a lot of consumers. Granted, it may not be as many consumers they would lose in turning out a product that may be lacking year in and year out.
It's a fine line with really no right answer.

Things that need to be fixed because of the complete incompetence of Ben brinkman:
1. TINY TEXT. . SO LAME AND STUPID.
2. THE AUTOMATIC MEATBALL WHEN YOU PULL BACK ON THE SWINGSTICK AND
IT AUTOMATICALLY GOES ALL RED AND ITS PRETTY MUCH A HR. THAT ****ES
ME OFF BEYOND BELIEF. I JUST GOTTLA LAUGH ABOUT IT.
3. MAKE IT SO WE CAN CHOOSE WHO WE PLAY FOR RANKED GAMES. KEEP IT
LIKE IT WAS IN 2K7.
4. WHAT HAPPEND TO THE FEEDBACK SYSTEM? HAVE THE FEEDBACK DISPLAYED
NEXT TO THE GAMERTAG.
5. ON THE INFIELD AND OUTFIELD SHIFTAGE, HAVE YOUR SELECTION INDICATED
WITH LARGE(LOL) TEXT.
6. WHAT UP WITH THE PITCHERS CONSTANLY GETTING INJURED? IT HAPPENS
TOO MUCH.
7. MAKE IT A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT TO HIT A HR. STILL TOO EASY, EVEN WHEN
ITS NOT A MEATBALL.
8. MAKE IT SO WE COULD ACTUALLY READ A PITCH, NO TIME TO READ PITCHES,
( ONLINE PLAY)
IF THEY FIXED THESE ISSUES, AND POLISHED THE GAME UP A LITTLE MORE,
I THINK THIS GAME WOULD BE THE BEST GAME EVER.
IS THERE EVEN GONNA BE A 2K9? I DON'T KNOW.
I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION. . . WHY DO THEY TAKE AWAY WHAT WORKS AND
REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING THAT DOES'NT?

Honestly I would rather have a detailed INSTRUCTION MANUAL that doesn't sell this game short. There is much nuance in this game that people can't appreciate because they don't know it exists.

cant believe you guys have fallen to the point that you want mlb 2k8 in 2009, not that 2k will be around in 2009 cuz EA will have full control (thank God)

I can live with the game as it is. However, if they do not fix the online play for this game there is no way I would buy MLB 2k9 (not that it matters since EA will own the company by then).
