So for anyone that read my posts earlier, basically the game started freezing every time it would start to load into a game, no other time, not at startup, just when it starting loading a ball game. I went and got a new copy since it seemed no one else had this issue. Also all my Franchises had damaged files and couldn't be loaded after freezes in loading franchise games.

With this new disc, i open it up, put it in, after clearing all memory of 2k8 and the 360's cache. I start an exhibition, it freezes at the initial 2k logo, earlier than before.

I have emailed and called the right people who do tech support for this game, and as it would go, open 9-5 PST for phone calls, I call 4-5 times between the hours of 12-3 PST, and no one picks up >.< my email hasnt been answered, at all.

So now I'm wondering if there is anyone who has had this problem, all my other games work fine, and I'm wondering if anyone has a fix, or if I just got screwed out of 60 dollars completely, because Gamestop wont let you return games that don't work, just exchange them for new ones of the same copy, which is what I did... And it still doesnt work, so, I need some help, because I don't feel like getting ****ed about wasting 60 dollars for a broken game, and the time, I'd rather just get it to work. Can anyone help?

Bump, I really need some help here, I can't be the only one in the world having it freeze every time for 360.

Can someone help me, this is really getting annoying, I spend 60 bucks, they dont make a game that works for the people who pay for it, starting to think I should demand a refund from 2k itself, like that would work.

To be honest . Your console is probably slowly dying and sports games are more taxing than most on the system. The game itself is not causing the freezing on its own. Oblivion did the same thing to be shortly before my second consoles death.

My last one died less than 6 months ago, this really isnt worth the trouble of getting it replaced every 6 months when things are unplayable basically for 2 months, and my warranty is probably over, guess thats the end of the 360. Ill just buy a PS3 somewhere down the road that doesnt break every half year...

i'm having the smae issue, but not at as high of a rate. usually i can play a game and then the after an inning the players will just freeze. The same thing happened with me on college hoops. My xbox starts making a clicking noise and then i get a disc read error. no other games but 2k games do this for me.

I posted this a few days ago (although I think I did it in the wrong forum. Here is the link to the entire thread as well if you want to read the few replies I had):

http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1724256

I've had probably 4 or 5 game freezes in the last two days. Out of 10-12 games, 4 or 5 were cut short due to complete freezes.
My xbox is not overheating, I have an external fan cooling it. My game disc isn't scratched I checked. It's really starting to irritate me.
I cannot recall every game freeze. I would have paid more attention had I known it was going to be a regular occurance. I can say it has never happened before inning 4. One e it froze up when one of my batters came to the plate starting the 5th or 6th inning... One time it froze right when the ball landed after I hit a homerun bottom 6th inning. One time it froze 2 outs into the top of the ninth. These are the only 3 I can remember for sure. All happened during franchise mode.
Another one happened during exhibition mode.
I will start to see if I can see any patterns but so far I've found nothing.

Anyway the game freezes. Holding down the Xbox button on the controller does nothing. Opening the tray on the xbox does nothing. The screen remains the same even after closing the tray again (with the disc still in it). The only way to restart is to power down using the power button on the xbox 360.

Anyway... I just want to find out if I'm the only player experiencing this with the xbox 360.

Now I have some updates to my situation. I cleared the HD cache as suggested. It worked for the games that I played that day. The next day I played some COD 4, and then I played MLB 2K8. My 2nd game froze when I played following COD4. I then cleared the cache and played 5 games without a freeze (I could've played more, but I went to bed). The next day I played 7 games of MLB 2K8 with no freezes. The next day I played a few minutes of Orange Box. I then played 3 games of MLB 2K8 and my 3rd game froze. So, once again, I cleared the cache and have played 7 games without a freeze.
Here's my theory on it: clear the cache, and play MLB 2K8 freeze free UNTIL you play another game. Then you must clear the cache again before playing MLB 2K8.

Bottom line is if I am paying $60 for a game I feel I shouldn't have to do all this "voodoo" to be able to play my game. But until (if) there is some fix this is what I suggest to people with freeze problems.

I have a problem with freezing occasionally also. We are told to exit out of VIP to fix our framerate issues, but then we have to deal with constant freezing and no saving of games. Great remedy!!

The freezing and saving games are two issues. To save, log back into VIP when you need to save. For freezing issues, please refer to the freezing thread and what SOL said. Thanks.

i just posted same thing today its getting beyond annoying....

so i called support:) 1-415-507-7750

they told me it could be a corrupt data file in my franchise file... the first suggestion was to erase my files and start over... the second was to see if the system locks up during exabition games... (doesnt help because most of the time it locks up in franchise menu)

i was also told to check my disc for scratches... i didnt see any

last i was told to try it on a different system. thats just lame

how do you clear the HD cache?

What does clearing the cache do? I have the same problem with freezing. I have about every 3rd game freeze on me. Most of the time it is while i am doing something complicated like making a double switch. the last one froze as i tried to load my throwing meter before the player actually caught the ball. THe CPU had a runner on 3rd and I was trying to preload my throw home, the ball froze in mid air and my game was wasted! AND I HAD AN ALBERT PUJOLS CARD COMING! DANG IT!
