Long Island controlled the last 5 minutes of the first half, including a buzzer beating 3 pointer at the half by Manigault to secure a 9 point lead at the half. the 2nd half started the same with it being around a 9 point LI lead. Then, LI starting missing shots they made earlier, while Army made shots they missed. Long Island Shocks St. Marys

The Blackbirds were the underdog in this game, but played unlike it. They started off wit an 8-0 run right away, but then calmed down and St. Marys came back to tie it at the half at 25 apiece. The 2nd half was close the whole way, with St Marys missing key FTs and LI took advantage with great 3 pointers and inside scoring. Eugene Rotorobai lead the way with 22 points on 4-8 3 point shooting. No other Blackbird had double digit points. Patty Mills, the upcoming PG from Australia, lead the Gaels with 11.

Jaytornah Wisseh had 5 pts, 5 assists and 6 steals, including one with 5 seconds left with a 2 point lead and passed it to Weicks, who was one of the few players who could make FTs for LI. After 3 consecutive fron 1 and 1 misses, Neicks was in the doubl3e bonus and made both FTS to take a 4 point lead with one second left to secure a 49-45 victory.

St Johns and Long Island were very close for the first half and a couple minutes into the 2nd, with St Johns having the 2 to 3 point edge. Then, LI hit a lot of 3s and hit the glass hard to go on a huge 10-0 run. The game was won at that point. Long Island Wins 61-50

I got nobody good enough to handle Beasley or Walker, but for some reason, every team i played except Notre Dame played a zone, which leaves Kotorobai open for the 3, which his his specialty and is why he scores so much. Thats my only chance since my tallest player is 6' 7" or 6' 8"

Big Comeback leads Long Island To A 1 Point victory over Kansas State

LI: 27 - 38 - 65
KSU: 37 - 27 - 64

After being down 10 at the half, the Blackbirds knew what they were doing wrong: missing open shots. Usually Kotorobai is the man when it comes to 3s, especially open 3s, but hit only one in the first half, while the only thing LI could do was get pts inside with Kellen Allen.

The 2nd half started off bad, with Kansas St getting out to a 15 pt lead. then back and forth KSU would score 2, LI a 3. when it got to within 11, LI shut down KSU and went on a big run, draining 3s and gettin layups. With KSU up 3 and Allen at the FT line, he misses both, but Ike Udanoh got the tip in to get it 2 one pt. then KSU came down and Bill Walker missed a jumper so LI could run out the clock since there was about 32 seconds left. looking for a short range shot, Allen was being dumb and standin at the 3 point line, and Udanoh was hot and killing Ryan Anderson so i gave it to him and schooled righy by Anderson for the dunk. With 9 seconds left, Walker turned it over on the inbounds and KSU didnt get a 7th fould before time ran out. LI somehow leaves Kansas State with a W

LI wins 3OT Thriller

Long Island got into a situation they didnt want to, nor expect, to get into. At New Hampshire, LI played behind for a long time, then around the end of the 2nd half, evened it out and got the score at 48, and at the buzzer, UNH misses a wide open three, a very good look. We got lucky and went to OT. In OT it stayed even the whole time and with 1.8 seconds left, LI called TO. The inbound pass was to Mattison about 5 ft beyond the arc and was a bit long. Double OT.

2OT was scary for the Blackbirds. Down by 2 with less than a minute left, Allen misses an easy hook and LI has to foul. UNH misses so they go down the court and give it right back to allen, who misses again. now there is 8.6 seconds left in a 1 n 1 situation. the UNH guard (cant remember the player) makes the 1st and misses the 2nd. i get the board and decide to skip on the Time Out, so Jaytornah Wisseh is runnin down the side, down by 3, and gets it to Eugene Kotorobai, whos defender goes for the steal and fails, leaving Kotorobai wide for the 3 and he drains it wit 0.8 left on the clock. no time for UNH, triple OT.

Triple OT started with a 3 by Kotorobai right off the bat, followed by a 3 by Cheslock on UNH. The game was then barely controlled by Long Island long enough to secure a victory, as a full court prayer was missed by UNH. LI prevails and continues the streak.

LIU beats NJIT in UCF Holiday Classic In One For The Ages

Long Island let NJIT take the lead by 3 with less than a minute to go. Kotorobai was fouled on a layup and made both FTs. LIU fouled NJIT until they shot FTs, which they missed the front end of the 1 and 1. LIU calls a time-out passed half court with 10 seconds left to bring in the rest of the starters that were out b/c of foul trouble. wit 10 left, the ball is dribbled and passed around, finally making its way to Kellen Allen who takes the short lay-up and it rolls in with .5 left on the clock to secure a victory by one point.

Tristian Blackwood is basically Jesus on the basketball court, draining 3 after 3, shot after shot. Conn St) should be very easy. then again, all 3 losses were to those 2 teams, so im expecting to win the rest except maybe the C. Conn St a few games down the road. Also need to get this 3* recruit, the only Center 3* interested in Long Island since i lost a better 3* C earlier in the year. Anyway, nobody really says too much **** in this thread so im thinkin bout shuttin it down or not updating it as frequently or as much; as in ill prob just post the recent scores. maybe some additional stats. then when the conference tourney n NCAA tourney or whatever i make, ill add more again

Long Island Just Cant Get Any Luck In The Conference

LIU: 34 - 24 - 58
WAG: 34 - 34 - 68

After draining a buzzer beater at the half, the Blackbirds seemed to be in good shape. Boy, were they wronger than ever. Wagner came out hot and was winning by 9 within minutes. LIU was able to come back within 3 with about 4 minutes left, and then Wagner went on a streak, getting the lead as high as 15. Just a terrible loss for LIU

POG: Mundweiler (20 pts, 4-10 3PT)

Long Island Falls Apart Again, Loses to a bad team

Long Island couldnt regroup from a loss, and they lose again to a bad St Francis (PA) team. Not much to say, other than "awful". And they have great sportmanship as well, shooting and making a buzzer beater 3... to win by 13.

Eugene Kotorobai was able to hit his 3s for the first time in a while, making 7 of 16 from behind the arc. Udanoh had 12 pts. It was a close one for a while, but Kotorobai made 3s when needed and we shut down everybody... except Blackwood. He had 27 pts, shooting 6-10 from behind the arc.

well its not guarenteed yet. Im 2nd in the conference in both conference record and overall record. So i need to win the NEC tourney. But even if i dont, i still have a chance as an At-Large Team, though that is not very likely. Anyway, if i get back into nonconfernece form, i should be able to win, since i beat Kansas State, St Marys and a few other good teams. Also, next season i plan on making my nonconference schedule very tough

LIU and Robert Morris played close for a long time until the final few minutes, where it all went wrong for LIU and right for RM. Not much to say other than a bad loss that puts LIU in a bad situation entering the conference tourney.

Yea, imma need to be in top form to have a chance. Allen and Kotorobai need to be able to score in the 20s and Udanoh can get me around 12 if he starts getting hot inside the paint. Hopefully, my other bench players help out as well, even thou im more worried about defense. I usualyl guard the handler a few feet away, so enough room for an ok shot, so if i give Bradley or Crawford some space, Im done. Blackwood did it to me all 3 games, so i need to play tighter D

For someone who doesn't put up crazy amounts of points I think it might be hard if those two put up 20+ points. Then again your defense isn't that bad since you been winning of late in low scoring games. I still can't believe Kentucky made it in with that high of a seed.

Preo32
April 6th, 2008, 06:56 AM
During the season ive had about 5 games or so where both those players had 20+ Points, so it can happen. Plus, i only play 10 minute halves, so I don't usually get too many points, but occasionally its like nobody plays defense so the score is high. I know I will need Allen to dominate the inside and i have a lot of players that i can shoot 3s with so if i make them, i can win.

LIU got within 10 in the 2nd half, and then Kentucky goes on an 18-2 run. Then for about 3 minutes Long Island was able to keep it around a 20 point deficit, and then couldnt make crap later on and Kentucky racked on more pts. Geoffrey Barton
C
7' 1"

1*

Needed at least 1 Center, and the 3* i went for had another team he was barely more interested in, so this will have to do for now

Bruce Lee

6' 5"
205
2*

Not a bad shooter, and i need one to replace Kotorobai.

Maris Baldwin
SF
6' 7"
199
2*

Has size, will replace Kotorobai as starter, as Baldwin is bigger and more athletic

1 Scholarship left. Will either save for next year (if i end up leaving kind of a waste) or will use on this player:

Steven Wooden
C
6' 11"
225
1*

My Starting C and backup C graduated, so this would be the backup to Barton. I will probably end up doing it, but there are a few other recruits i may use it on

Ronald Youmans (2* PF, 6'8" 216)
Aron Thompson (2*, C, 6' 10", 234)

Thompson would be a guarentee, as i am the only team he is interested in, but its a 67%. I will have to compare Thompson and Wooden before i offer

Also, i had a player in reserves last year since he transferred and he can play this year

Eric Moore
SG
6'4"
185
62 Overall (3rd highest rated as of now) and it says JR so i gues once i officially start next season it will be SR or maybe if im lucky, RS JR

Then Bruce Lee is a 53 and, thankfully, Aron Thompson is a 64. Also, i got 3 new ppl who i think transferred from somewhere. 2 of them are like 45 and the other is a PF rated 55, so he will play. Even thou Baldwin is a 48, i took him off reserves since he is athletic and the only SF i got besides Manigault, who some games last year played better than Kotorobai, so he will start at SF. roster, lineups n schedule up soon

Long Island Loses Opener By 15

LIU: 21 - 19 - 40
ILL: 19 - 36 - 55

Long Island falls apart in the season opener against Illinois. The Illini just forced turnovers like crazy on the Blackbirds, not even giving them a legitimate chance in the 2nd half. Last year, Coach Wright lost the opener to Notre Dame by 15, so no worries yet, but they must feel a bit less confortable as they lost their best scorer, Eugene Kotorobai.

Long Island kept to the same style as they did against Illinois, but took fewer 3s. Looks like it worked. Thompson had 19 pts and Barton had 15, and again, nobody else on Long Island had double digits. Barton seems to be more of a defensive threat than Thompson, but Thompson is better in the post. Barton went 7-7, but all of his attempts were either fast break layups or simple putbacks. Either way, both bigmen contributed tonight to get LIU to the Tourny Finals and their first victory of the season

:rotfl:

Tough loss in the season opener but nice win over Charlotte. I think in CincyFan's legacy Charlotte won the national championship and I had them go to the final four in mine so a win against them is apparently not easy to come by.

Time to get revenge on that recruit for not signing with you!

CincyFan
April 7th, 2008, 05:40 AM
yeah had no idea that Charlotte could win the whole thing. That is just excessively depressing to know.

I know you said Barton isn't the better offensive guy, but is he still going to come off the bench (sort of like Duncan did for XU this year) or are you having thoughs about putting him in the starting lineup?

Preo32
April 7th, 2008, 12:54 PM
yeah the reason is because Thompson gets tired faster than the rest of my starters, and i have no other center on my team. Udanoh is the starting PF, and he did great last year for me, and even though he is off to a slow start, i will keep him there for now. Barton is better than i expected, and he is huge, and whenever Thompson is tired, he goes in. Barton has even worse fatigue than Thompson, so starting both hurts me because i have no player to go it at Center. I do play both of them with about 4 minutes remaining in the game until the end (at least thats what ive done so far) and it works good, but for now, i will keep Thompson as a starter and Barton as his backup.

LIU: 26 - 38 - 64
ION: 28 - 35 - 63

The game was close throughout, as Branden Sorenson, a recruit of LIU who passed on the scholarship to go to Iona, didnt play bad, but not great. He scored 10 pts and had 8 rebounds. That wasnt enough as the Center Combo of Aron Thompson and Geoffrey Barton dominated. Thompson had 20 pts, 5 rebs and 2 stls, while Barton had 18 pts, 3 rebs and 2 stls. It really wasnt a 1 pt game, as Iona drained a 3 at the buzzer.

Total Domination. Not too much defense played at all this game, until late in the game for LIU. The Combo of Thompson and Barton is almost unstoppable, but in the Iona game they missed soo many open lay-ups it almost lost me the game. Also, Maris Bawldin (FR, 48) is playin better than a 48. good driver and i like his shot so i am 3-4 wit him from 3 (not rated high but its the shot that matters). 70 PIP is very high, but they basically gave it to me, just like i gave them the 3 (they made 9/18 3PT)

Next Up: Long Island (3-1) Vs Arizona St (4-0) In NIT Tip Off Toruney

I guess all the winners of the NIT Tip Off A, B, C and D go onto the final torunament that i didnt know about. so i have this game, then the next day if i win (i think also if i lose) against either Okla St or Florida A&M (not sure exactly who the other team is but i think its them) and then the days after than against 4th ranked Syracuse. 3 Games in 3 Days, and the 3rd will be the toughest.

LIU: 30 - 32 - 62

Long Island wasnt able to hold off a Pac-10 team, as Arizona State was a little bit better outside the paint, and Pendergraph was a monster. Tough tourney loss for LIU, but they will need to regroup in order to get ready for the next game, against Florida A&M, who lost to Oklahoma State. Playing For 3rd place.

Long Island No Match For Syracuse

LIU: 18 - 31 - 49
SYR: 29 - 35 - 64

Long Island missed shots that they can make almost 100% of the time, and it seems like thye missed them because they were playin Syracuse. Nerves more than anything. Nobody was in top form for the Blackbirds, while the Orangemen looked spectacular. Paul Harris (POG) had 17 pts, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Donte Greene had 13 pts, 8 rebs and 3 assists.

Long Island Players

Thompson (16 pts, 4 rebs, 3 stls)
Barton (9 pts, 4 rebs)

No point in putting down the team stats. it was a slaughter other than TOs and Steals. My O and D was bad, while 'Cuse was amazing. Best team Coach Wright has faced so far. LIU did have 2 games the 2 days before, so fatigue could have been a factor, but either way, Syracuse got the W

C Con ST sucks now that Blackwood is gone and Sacred Heart is awful for some reason, so those are really the 2 teams i had little rivalries. But Just wondering, has anybody ever taken a new coaching contract and then a player from their old team transfer over to ur new school. I just hate the conference so much i wanna get outta there to a more competitive competition, since i really think i may only play like 5 conference games this year

Long Island Wins Tough Away OT Game Vs Siena

LIU: 36 - 30 - (18) - 84
SIE: 34 - 32 - (15) - 81

Long Island kept the game close for a long time, despite trailing most of the game. Siena drained 3s liek crazy, and since Long Island isnt great at 3s, they fell behind a bit. They were able to somehow get a lot of steals at the end of regulation to tie it up. They also ended up with the ball with 10 seconds left in a tie game, as Ike Udanoh's buzzer beater put back didnt fall.

In OT, it was close throughout, but Aron Thompson and Geoffrey Barton kept it a game. With LIU up one with 2 seconds left, Eric Moore missed the 1 and 1 fron end, and Barton had a putback at the buzzer to win the game by 3.

Yeah Im on a 7 game winnings streak so thats good. But its funny because last season i relied on 3s to win since Kotorobai was amazing at 3s, and now that hes gone, the other players i shot threes with seem to have gotten worse at them. Its gotten better since the beginning of the season, but i wont be able to win if i cant make open threes. But now that i have 2 big men (6'11" and 7'1") I rotate them for each other and they dominate. Its much more fun that jacking up 3s like i did last year. Im hopin i get a higher seed in the NCAA tourney and can advance a few rounds because that may be the difference of Coach Wright staying at Long Island or not.

Long Island Too Good To Be In The NEC

LIU: 32 - 30 - 62
SH: 23 - 25 - 48

Long Island is keeping it hot, winning their 24th game of the season over Sacred Heart. SH beat LIU 2 times last year, but this season is different for both teams, as LIU is the only team that may not even need to win the NEC tourney to get it. Of course, that is the main goal. Coach Wright actually wanted to say something to the reporters after a game for the first time since he became the coach. Here is what he had to say:

"We are the real deal. We don't need the NEC. In fact, i say we just switch Seton Hall and LIU into the others conference and then its all good. I have respect for Seton Hall, but its just a figure of speech. WE ARE TOO DAMN GOOD TO BE STUCK IN THE NEC."

Harsh words from Coach Wright there. After asked about their only conference loss to Mt St Marys, here is what he said.

"Some games you are just off. That was the case. Mt St Marys was the better team on the court that game, and we were not. Its how basketball is. The better team at the moment wins. We had some injuries, but no excuses. Dont Expect any more conference losses."

Anyway, back to the game.

I mean, we can compete with them if we play our game the way we need to. Easy there coach, your getting a little bit to confident in your team. You've had a great season, don't jinx it by saying something you will regret. 28-4 is awesome, and I am sure even if you don't win the tournament your pretty much a lock anyway.

LIU Gets To NEC Finals

LIU: 34 - 29 - 63
SFP: 19 - 33 - 52

Long Island, again, dominated the game against a fellow conference team. St Francis PA played great in the 2nd half, but the 1st half is the reason why LIU won. Coahc Wright had this to say.

"I feel that we can win the NEC Championship game. I don't know who we play yet, but we have one conference loss, and we beat that team twice since. So whoever we meet in the finals we hae beat. It's lookin good for us. Also, 30 wins in a season and 20 conference wins in a season is huge, no matter the team or conference you play in. That is our goal: win the conference championship game so we get 30 total wins and 20 conference wins, and of course the trophy for winning the tourney."

LIU: 38 - 39 - 77

First of all, lets get to the Player of the Game: Aron Thompson. After recording 2 pts and 2 fouls in the 1st 2 minutes, he was taken out for the rest of the 1st half. With LIU up 6 and not even having Thompson contribute, they knew they were in good shape when Thompson came back. Thompson had 18 pts in the 2nd half, giving him 20 for the game. He shot 8-8 FG and 4-4 from the line. Just a great game by Thompson.

Robert Morris kept it close in the first, but LIU took a big lead early, which is why they lead by 7 at the half.

Coach Wright was asked about the game and the NCAA toruney after the game:

"Well, we accomplished some big things this season. 30 total wins. 20 conference victorys. An NCAA Tournament bid. This in only 2 seasons. I am having fun at Long Island University, and I hope we can play more than one game this season. Last year after getting blown out in the first round, we felt like this season could be magic. It was better than expected. Starting 4-3 and winning 26 of the next 27 is something I could never imagine. I feel like, with a 30-4 season, we deserve at least a 3 seed. I am 99% sure we won't get it, but i think we are good enough for that seed. I think we will end up with a 5 or 6 seed just because of the conference we play in. Well, we have 5 days until selection sunday, so hopefully the committee can look at our resume and give us the seed we deserve. We had a great season, one that nobody expected, and we feel that that can get us far into this tournament."

Coach Wright the day before the Tournament and after knowing his team got the #6 seed:

"Well, I'm not surprised, as i said we will probably get a 5 or 6 seed. I think we deserved higher with our record, but what can you do? We had a tough non-conference schedule, and i guess since we lost to both ranked teams we played, it didn't help us. Either way, a 6# is great considering its a reverse from us barely making the tourney last year. I do not think it is fair, thou, that they have 2 of the top 10 Mid-Major teams face each other in the tourney. It makes me think the bracket is set up to get rid of the mid-major teams ASAP. I dont like it, but at least we will have a good competitor. I would have been much happier playing a team from a big conference but didn't do great than play against a great mid-major team. James Madison is definetly better than every other team in the NEC, and probably one of the 5 best teams we will play up until this point, so expect a close game."

LIU: 38 - 31 - 69
JM: 27 - 38 - 65

Long Island took a big lead early on, but slowly, James Madison was able to close the gap with 3s, while LIU missed easy baskets. In the end, LIU's steals and FTs sealed the deal as the Blackbirds advance to the 2nd round. Coach Wright had this to say:

"I am very proud of this team. Of my team. We were able to overcome last season's bad loss, to the team that calls this court home (Played at Kentucky; lost to them in the tourney last year) and were able to leave this game with a W. We struggled for a bit late, as James Madison took a one point lead with just over a minute to play, but these kids didn't give up. We won't give up. Give us Louisville and we will fight."

LIU: 31 - 29 - 60
LOU: 23 - 28 - 51

Long Island took an unexpected 9 point lead into the half, but of those 31 pts, 22 were from Aron Thompson. He was unstoppable. Of course, Louiville doubled him up early in the 2nd, but other people contributed to get a lead. Later on, Louisville was on a comeback, getting within 1 point many times, but Thompsons 5 ft hook to take a 3 pt lead sealed the deal, as Louisville never scored again. Thompson also blocked a 3 that coulda have gotten the game within 2 a minute after his basket. Coach Wright after the game:

"We played a hell of a game out there. Louisville is a great team, but Aron Thompson was phenomonal. He couldn't be stopped. He scored 35 of 60. He was needed out there as much as possible, and we got him out there for 3 quarters of the game, so all in all, a great performace and we are proud to be in the Sweet 16. I said we should have been a 3 seed, and I think we may have proven ourselves by beating a 3 Seed."

STAN: 33 - 40 - 73

Long Island keeps it rolling, as they beat Stanford to go the the Elite 8. The first half was close until Long Island started pressing and forced a lot of turnovers and scored on them to get a big lead at the half.

The 2nd half was very different. Stanford drained 3s like crazy, even taking a 3 point lead at one point. It was close for a while, and then LIU forced Stanford an over-and-back and scored when they got the ball. Ffree Throws down the line sealed the deal. Coach Wright was asked about the game afterwards.

"Man, I am surprised how well we are jelling right now. I mean, the big men are contributing very well and the key players are all stepping up. I have never been so proud in my life. Long Island in the Elite 8. God, who woulda thought. I'm not even sure this is what i signed up for, but that's what makes me go home and sleep well at night. Elite 8

1st Half

The first half started off terrible for Long Island. Aron Thompson had his first foul 17 seconds into the game. He had his 2nd in 32 seconds. Coach Wright needed him in, so he kept him in. Thompson recorded his 3rd foul 1:13 into the game, and had to sit out the rest of the half. he had 0 pts and 1 rebound at the time. Miami (FL) was playing great basketball, leading the whole first half. Long Island kept it close throughout, as Ron Manigaults lay-up at the hall time buzzer made it a 2 pt game at the half

Halftime Score: 34-32

2nd Half

The second half was a different story. Geoffrey Barton went on a tear with Thompson out, scoring basket after basket. Soon, LIU was up by 5. Aron Thompson entered the game with 6 minutes remaining and he went on a tear while Barton sat out as he was tired. Long Island was able to shut down the inside game of The U, and advance to the Final Four

Coach Wright after the game:

"The Long Island Blackbirds are in The Final Four. How many of you beleived we could do that at any point of the season before the tournament?" Nobody says anything. "Good. I like that we fly under the radar. People think that our record is good because of our conference. Well, did other teams in bad conferences dominate their conference liek us? No. Nobody was even close. We lost 4 games this season. We are good enough to compete. I mean, I understand we are the underdog now that we are in the Final Four, but does anybody think we can win it all? Not too many people think so. But the only people that need to believe that is this team and I. If nobody else believes we can, then fine. But my team does, and that is what is driving us to all of these victorys. Now, we have to play USC. A damn good team. OJ Mayo is amazing. I wish he had left after his frosh year so we wouldn't be in this spot, but thats how the tournament goes. I don't care who we play, we will compete and, hopefully, luck is on our side."

Coach Wright after an amazing season:

"Best season of my life, as a player or coach. I mean, I've said it thoundsands of times, but who expected us to be here? It's just amazing. I am proud of this team, and I hope that Ron (Maigault) and Tyrone (Mattison) have a great future, as they will be sorely missed. Next season, this team feels it can go all the way. Coach Wright Press Conference

Reporter: Coach Wright, after a great season with Long Island, do you plan on leaving for a bigger conference school?

Coach Wright: Actaully, I looked at the offers I was given, and i wouldn't have gone to a much bigger conference. I got a few offers from Big Sky schools, MEAC, SWAC, those kind of conferences, and i have made my decision. I felt that of all the offers i recieved, I wasn't going to somewhere that would benefit me like LIU has. LIU is a great team and I love coaching them. The schools i was given offers from were all decent teams. So I can go to a decent team in small conference, or stay with a great Final Four team in a small conference. Seems simple to me.

Reporter: Well, what if you had been offered the job at a big conference school, say a Big East or Big 12 school.

Wright: Well, that didn't happen, but I would have had to look at the situation they were in, but as of right now, i feel Long Island University is the place for me. No more questions.

Aight Im back. It was the 2ns time ive taken it so i wasnt really worried or anything since i knew what to expect. Anyway, ill have the updates one here as soon as i am able to play cuz i got a story bout my and my 360

My dad was mad that on my report car (back in January) said i tried "at a minimum level" in physics, so he took my xbox away. basicallt he packed it up back in the box and put it next to the TV. He said ill get it back at the end of the school year (June). A week later, we had a snow day, and with both my parents at work, i hooked the xbox up to the other (and not HD) TV inmy basement were my broken ps2 was hooked up. Well, my parents barely go in this room, and since my xbox is an elite, i hid it behind the ps2 and nobody ever sees it. also, i packed a bunch of big books into the 360 box. so its now been about 2.5 months and my parents havent noticed yet, so i cant play when they are in the other parts of the basement since that room is useless since it only has "a broken ps2". so i play at nights and when they arent home.

So the update will probably be tonite

desmin123

Superjames1992

Man, I could never get away for doing stuff like that. I stay up on my laptop late, but not too late since my mom gets up a lot during the night to use the bathroom and will notice the light on in my room. I definitely could not hide my Xbox like that since my mom cruises around the house a lot, so who knows when shw might show up, plus we don't have a basement. I wish I had a third floor or basement, though, since I would definitely would stay up late there since I would be able to be far enough away to play my 360 and stuff.

Have you ever been close to being caught playing your Elite?

1st, i am planning on putting the xbox back the weekend before Finals. that way i won be distracted and also cuz thats the last week of school so ill have it back a week later

2nd, i almost got caught the first 10 minutes of hooking it up. i thought my mom had gone to work, but she left late so she came down and says "why are you already playing the Wii at 7 in the morning. go to bed." so i just turned the TV off and went to bed. and there have been more times. usually i get the system or TV turned off in time, and i hide the controller, and im not even supposed to play any games during the week. my dad came down and he say i just turned the TV off. he asked me what i was doin. i just said "playin the Wii" I also have the Wii on the same Tv as the broken ps2, mybro basically plays that i just said i was for a little bit. thats the excuse. ive used it about 4 times, so its all good. I never play when they are down in the basement, and i can hear them come down the stairs, and the TV is near the computer, so i turn off the TV, hide the controller, turn up the music (cuz u can hear the 360) and then just pretend like i was on the comp. i had it all planned out

o yeah. the only problem is that, right next to the TV, theres a little cabinet i lay my legs on, and one day i slipped and my foot went thru the wall. i got it covered up (as of now) with cardboard and i have a chair with a blanket in the way of that so if you look into the room, you cant see the cardboard. this happpened a little less than a month ago. im going to tell them about the whole as soon a i get my 360 "back" cuz if i tell em now, they will probably move the crap around it, and then theyd find the xbox. it was all bad luck the day i broke the wall. so yeah i got some crazy **** happening with this

Recruits / Transfer Players That Choose Long Island

C Kevin Sow ***
7'
257
Africa
65 Overall

Just a slightly better rebounder than Aron Thompson. Sow may be the starting PF, or back-up PF to Udanoh, as Barton will still be the back-up C

SF Shantay Greenleaf **
6' 8"
215
New York
54 Overall

Good shooter (71 3s, 73 mid) and dunker (84). Will be starting SF, as Maris Baldwin is not as good, so he will redshirt this season. Greenleaf replaces Manigault at starting SF, and is looking to become the main scorer beside Thompson. Eric Moore is looking to be that as well

PG Miles Beatty Transfer
6' 2"
231
JR
New Jersey
69 Overall

Now my highest rated player, he is a good 3PT shooter (80) and quick. If Coahc Wright stays next year, and with Jaytornah Wisseh leaving since he is a senior, Beatty will be the starting PG. Of course, he has to sit this season out

I created 2 Very Good recruits hoping to get them. 1 is a 5 Star Center who is 7'6", but now UCONN offered him a scholarship. The other is a 3 star SG named Ransom Mosley. I need him cuz 2 of my SRs are SGs, but i think he is going to Syracuse. i got 3 scholarships, and ive offered both those players one. if none of them sign with me, which they probably wont, ill prob end up with 3 world players, or maybe a 4* from the US

Coach Wright Wins His First Season Opener

LIU: 36 - 31 - 67
UNM: 26 - 27 - 53

Coach Wright gets his first season opener victory after losing it both times the past 2 years. Coach Wright:

"We play good teams in the opener. Notre Dame beat us by 15. Illinois beat us by 15. This is the first time our opener was a home game, which i think gave us the edge. I am a huge fan of New Mexico. Actually, its my alma mater, I grew up in Brooklyn, then in grade 11, our family moved to New Mexico and i went to UNM. I love it. I moved back here to coach my old high school, which is why i have this job. I got the upmost respect for UNM, and i hope we can see them in the NCAA tourney."

Coach Wright Interview

Reporter: So, what do you think about your team this season? Do you think they can get back to the Final 4?

C. Wright: Well, after watching them against UNM, i noticed one thing we are much deeper at. That thing is scoring. We don't have to rely on Thompson always scoring 25 points for use to have a chance. Sure he had over 20 the other night, but Sow and Greenleaf did as well. Greenleaf is a great shooter, so expect him to put up big numbers as well. Eric Moore is lookin great considering he started last year terribly. Wisseh is the leader of this team. He doesn't put up the stats, but if it werent for him, I don't think we would be where we are. Now, can we get back to the Final 4? Sure, why not. We did last year, and i think we are deeper than last year. Our Frosh are Sophs, we got great new freshman that will help us, and we now have 2 senior guards starting and I think they will take this team to an even greater height than last year.

Reporter: Okay, fair enough. Well what about your job? Do you plan on staying after this season? What if there is an opening at UNM, your alma mater? Would you leave LIU?

C. Wright: We've played one game and already questions about where I will be next year. Damn. Hey, this is the team i am the coach of. It's as simple as that. As for UNM, they are a great team and I root for them, but c'mon. 1 game and I'm on the hot seat. UNM may not need a coach. And what happens if all of a sudden, out team gets plagued with garbagenitis and we end up wit 3 wins all season? LIU may not want me, and I may be back in HS. Hey, you never know. How about we hold off those questions till the end of the year.

Reporter: So, is that a maybe?

C. Wright: Security, get these reporters out of this room.

wow a 7'6" center. Apparently your team is lacking height that you had to go create him. I say if you don't get him you have to play against the team next year just too see how good you really made him.

i actually have two 7' footers and a 7'1 guy but hes rated 51 and the other 2 are rated 65. the 7'1 is a Soph and one of the 7 footers is a frosh and the other is my star. a soph. i just wanted to make a person as tall and good as i could think and see if i can get him. and no matter what, whichever one, or both probably, that i dont get, im playing them next year, whether Im still at Long Island or not

Pre-Game Interview

Reporter: Coach Wright, how do you think your team pairs up with Oklahoma State?

Coach Wright: Well, I think that we are better than them. They are well coached and they play well, but not too many teams have beaten us in Long Island since I got here, so I think that changes how we pair up with them.

Reporter: Any starting line-up changes in the near future?

CW: Well, I think the line-up we got now is great. I dont see any reason to take anybody out of it while we are only one game into the season. We'll probably end up with some slight changes before conference play, but maybe not.

Reporter: How is recruiting going? What kind of players are you looking at?

CW: Right now, we got 2 players we have offered scholarships. Both are from NY, and they can help us a lot if we land them. One is a 7'6" beast names Virgil Robins, but he also received an offer from UCONN. The other is a SG that will most likely replace Moore next season. He is a 3 star, Ransom Mosley. Good shooter, quick, versatile, a great guy that we could use. He received a scholarship from Syracuse, so it's all up to him who he chooses. We are hoping they make a decision during the in-season signing so that if they pass on our offer, we can spend the rest of the year going for players more likely to come to LIU.

Reporter: Good luck against Oklahoma State

CW: Thanks

Long Island Is Rolling

LIU: 44 - 36 - 80
OSU: 32 - 39 - 71

Long Island was on a roll in the first half. Everybody was making shots. At least the LIU players. Oklahoma State struggled in the 1st and for most of the 2nd. LIU slacked off and slowed down a bit, and OSU came back, getting within 4 points late in the game. LIU woundn't let this game slip away, as Greenleaf dominated with his amazing crossover to the rim for the reverse slam, and LIU never looked back.

Next Up: Long Island (2-0) Seeks Revenge Against The Team That Beat Them In Last Season's Final 4, #7 USC (2-0)

LIU is on a one week, 3 game road trip to California. They face #7 USC, #15 Cal, and San Diego.

Coach Wright On The OSU game:

"That was the best first half I've seen this team play ever. Greenleaf was on a tear, Thompson and Sow were great down low, Moore, Wisseh, and Lee were contributing great. It was amazing. It goes to show we are the real deal, and we will do whatever it takes to get our revenge against USC. And Thank God OJ Mayo left for the NBA, because I really don't want to face him again. He is a tough match-up for my team because of his height. They now have Angelo Johnson at PG, and he is under 6 feet, so that makes it easier on us that we don't face a PG as tall as our SF."

Coach Wright Being Interviewed In SoCal About LIU's 3-Game California Road Trip

"This team needs a big challenge. They need to know just how good they are. I feel that playing 3 games on the other side of the country and having 2 of the 3 games against a ranked team can help us inprove because we haven't beaten a ranked team during the regular season. That is one of our season goals. Another is make it back to The Final 4. Another is land a 4* or better recruit. I think even two of those 3 would just show how much we can contend, and how much we actually do contend."

"Godawful" Performace Leaves Questions For LIU

LIU: 31 - 28 - 59
USC: 32 - 37 - 69

LIU had a lead for most of the first half, and then ended up giving it away. They were down by one, again vs USC, at the half. The 2nd half was no different than the Final 4 game. USC went on a run, and it was too late for LIU. LIU went on a run at the end to make it only a 10 point loss, but it seemed much worse. Coach Wright:

"Godawful. That was the worst 2nd half I have ever seen. Sure we had 28 points, and half of them were in the final 3 minutes. What about the rest of the half? Our defense was off and it looked like we didn't even care. I am going to have to get it through these kids' minds that they need to work to succeed. Man, I am very dissappointed in our teams effort today."

LIU Can't Hold On

LIU: 38 - 33 - 71
CAL: 43 - 33 - 76

After keeping it close in the first half, LIU had a good chance in the 2nd. They were able to take a lead late in the game and keep it for a while. Cal was hitting so many threes, that it ended up making the game what it was. LIU wasn't able to hold on late, as they came down the court looking for a 3, Wisseh didn't want to take it but, even thou nobody was behind the arc, passes it and turns it over. Cal made both FTs and there wasn't enough time for a chance. Coach Wright:

"We at least tried this game, not like in the USC team. I was proud of our offense, but our man-to-man D wasn't great. We left Cal open too many times behind the arc, and they responded. We lost to 2 ranked teams within 5 days, so now we need to know how to improve so that next time we play a team that high in the ranks, maybe we can pull out the W."

LIU Player Stats

Pre-Game Interview

Reporter: Coach Wright, after two tough losses to ranked teams, what are you going to do to get your team on the right track?

CW: Well, I think I need to push them harder. They were fine offensively against Cal, and they were ok in the 1st half vs USC, but i think I need to get them in better defensive shape. We get a lot of steals, but most of them are on passes, not from a dribble player. We don't play great on-ball D, and we need to work on not giving up offensive rebounds. Thats what we need to work on.

Reporter: What do you think of your freshmen, Shantay Greenleaf and Kevin Sow, so far this season?

CS: They are playing great. Sow is coming off the bench when Thompson is tired, and we aren't losing too much because he reminds me a lot of Thompson. Greenleaf is a helluva shooter. Best we have had since Eugene Kotorobai. Kotorobai is a better shooter, but Greenleaf will get better throughout his career here, and he is much more athletic than Eugene, which will make him a big threat in a few years. You know both can score, as they are 2 of 3 players that average double figures. It's really amazing what talent we have here. Next year, we will be even more talented, even though Jaytornah and Eric will be missed.

Reporter: So, now that your goal of being a ranked team is basically gone, do you still think you can achieve the other 2?

CW: Well, some team we play down the road could become ranked, like LSU, so you never know, but i still feel this team is talented enough to get to the Final 4 again. I know we have lost to USC two times already, and Cal barely got us, but if we can contend until the very end, we have a shot. As for getting a 4 star recruit, that is less likely than us getting to the final 4. We have a 5*, as I have mentioned, that we offered a scholarship, but it isnt lookin good. We have a great 3* we want, but its lookin slim as well. If we don't end up with any 4 stars, I guarentee you, All of our recruits will be good. I don't care as much about how good they are out of HS. I care about how good they are when they play on this team. That's all that matters. Aron Thompson was a 2*, and he's a beast. Greenleaf a 2*, Sow a 3*, and Barton was a 1*. He sure as hell doesn't play like he is a 1 star. Plays above his rank. That's what we need guys to do, and so far, it's working out. Any More Q's? Alright, I'm out.

LIU Plays Awful

LIU: 24 - 28 - 52
Dep: 25 - 32 - 57

Long Island didn't stick to what it is used to, shooting 3 after 3 after 3, and not making very many at all. And by not many, I mean 2. 2 three-pointers and they shot a lot. Depaul didn't play great, but Long Island was just being plain dumb. Coach Wright:

"I don't know what the **** we were doing. We don't ever, EVER, shoot that many 3 pointers in a game. I told them to keep it down. They wouldn't. It was close at half, and I told them again. Go Inside and get the easy bucket. They shot less, but we were just stupid. WE lost that game because we didn't do what we do best. Awful. This is disappointing. I dont know why we shot so many three's. I don't even want to look at the stat sheet. I will probably kill somebody if I do."

Just wondering, since i am starting a new legacy, which of these two teams would you like to see the most

Northern Colorado
Sacramento State

Both in the Big Sky (More interesting to me than NEC) and I like Sac St, and idk much about the other team. N. Col has a better starting line-up, but Sacramento State has better players, but a lot are guards. Colorado has no height thou other than one player. i will listen to what ppl have to say, as i have to go somewhere soon, and i will start the legacy tonight
