I posted this a few days ago (although I think I did it in the wrong forum. Here is the link to the entire thread as well if you want to read the few replies I had):

I've had probably 4 or 5 game freezes in the last two days. Out of 10-12 games, 4 or 5 were cut short due to complete freezes.
My xbox is not overheating, I have an external fan cooling it. My game disc isn't scratched I checked. It's really starting to irritate me.
I cannot recall every game freeze. I would have paid more attention had I known it was going to be a regular occurance. I can say it has never happened before inning 4. One e it froze up when one of my batters came to the plate starting the 5th or 6th inning... One time it froze right when the ball landed after I hit a homerun bottom 6th inning. One time it froze 2 outs into the top of the ninth. These are the only 3 I can remember for sure. All happened during franchise mode.
Another one happened during exhibition mode.
I will start to see if I can see any patterns but so far I've found nothing.

Anyway the game freezes. Holding down the Xbox button on the controller does nothing. Opening the tray on the xbox does nothing. The screen remains the same even after closing the tray again (with the disc still in it). The only way to restart is to power down using the power button on the xbox 360.

Anyway... I just want to find out if I'm the only player experiencing this with the xbox 360.

Now I have some updates to my situation. I cleared the HD cache as suggested. It worked for the games that I played that day. The next day I played some COD 4, and then I played MLB 2K8. My 2nd game froze when I played following COD4. I then cleared the cache and played 5 games without a freeze (I could've played more, but I went to bed). The next day I played 7 games of MLB 2K8 with no freezes. The next day I played a few minutes of Orange Box. I then played 3 games of MLB 2K8 and my 3rd game froze. So, once again, I cleared the cache and have played 7 games without a freeze.
Here's my theory on it: clear the cache, and play MLB 2K8 freeze free UNTIL you play another game. Then you must clear the cache again before playing MLB 2K8.

Bottom line is if I am paying $60 for a game I feel I shouldn't have to do all this "voodoo" to be able to play my game. But until (if) there is some fix this is what I suggest to people with freeze problems.
