Does anyone here think that momentum is over-used in this game? When I play against the computer, it seems like it is too easy for the "wheels to fall off" when I am pitching and making great pitches. On the flip side, I think that same holds true for computer pitching. If a ground out a few times, it seems like the game is coded to make the pitcher continue on dealing, but if I hit a homerun, they seem to come in droves. Let me add that it seems like this happens every game I play regardless of how well I execute a pitch and location and vice versa. Your Thoughts?

I think that momentum is very realistic. Usually in real-life when this happens, a pitcher is dominating and then there is one guy that is able to break through. Perhaps he gets a double or something. That then changes everything for the pitcher. He is now pitching from the stretch and has to be more concerned about pitch placement. The stakes are much higher now as one mistake will plate a run.
At the same time, with one guy breaking through, then sends a message to the other guys that the pitcher isn't really that difficult and that he can be hit off of. The batters' confidence starts to increase and for whatever they start to see the ball better.
No I don't think that it is over used. There are times that it does get frustrating because it seems that when the comp. gets a couple of hits they all of a sudden are clubbing anything you throw and that it is almost impossible to get them out. But then again, that's how it is in real life too.

I call the whole thing the "WTF" attribute, sometimes I wish there was a "WTF slider". At any rate on most occassions I feel the momentum is pretty accurate, but still can help think WTF.
It is really satisfying though when the momentum is going my way, you start to identify more pitches with the Batters Eye (assuming you are using it)...balls get through more holes or into gaps, etc. My only problem is that I get a bit too eager and end up running myself out of a rally.

It really does feel good when you get your swing timing down. It usually happens around the sixth inning. You can just start to drive the ball all over the place.
I was playing against the W Sox yetserday as the Twins. Livan Hernandez was on a tear then came the 7th inning threw two curves for two doubles. Next pitch fastball, GONE. Lost that game three to two.

that sounds realistic, usually it takes batter 2 to 3 at-bats to figure out the pitcher, if the pitcher is on a roll
