I see I can use the L-R triggers to the Batting (classic) but how do you select it?

Once you're in mlb2K8's menu (tab) system, It's located in your VIP settings..

I can toggle through with the triggers, but can't figure out how to lock in the option. I always end up with Swing Stick whether I want it or not...

You have to hit the start button once you've chosen the options, and it'll ask if you want to save.

Tried the start button, no change. it's not in the VIP settings either. I just want to set the classic controls. Overall, it's too much. This is the last 2k game i waste money on.

Wow, new controls are too much???? Thats insane, but I guess to each his own. In my opinion the new controls are the best thing about the new game. No more button baseball for me as it seems like a regression. I would say though, dont rip this game based on your assumption of the controls as thats very petty.

If its button baseball that you want than I think you may want to check out The Show on the PS3. Other than that, your only other option would be to step back to earlier baseball titles on the 360 and the original Xbox.

Took me a while to figure this out too. You can't do it from inside your franchise mode. I have an XBOX360, bought the game last week, tried to set up a franchise and proceded to get my butt kicked in the first inning because I couldn't even figure out how to throw to the bases... I'm used to pushing 'B' for first, 'A' for home, etc.

I looked in the directions and saw that I should be able to, but like dkc said, all I could do was see the various possibilities but no way to permanently select them so I put the game down and went and got drunk and played another game for the rest of the weekend.

Then the other day I picked it up again, turned on the XBOX, signed into my profile and fired up the game. From the title screen of the game, you select your 2K preferences and the controller setting will be in there and you can change them and save them...

THEN you go into your franchise mode and you will see that the settings for your controller have been saved to classic.

Hope that helped.
