2007 Season:
In Tom Reney's second year as Rangers coach, his team made significant strides. Coming off an embarrassing playoff loss to the Devils a year ago, the Rangers were looking to make it back to the playoffs for the second straight year. The Rangers finished the season with 94 points and found themselves with the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference. This gave them a match-up with the three seed Atlanta Thrashers, champions of the Southeast Division. However the Rangers made Atlanta seem like the lower seed as the swept them with ease and move on the play the Buffalo Sabres. The Rangers ended up losing the series in six games, with Chris Drury playing a major role in the Rangers defeat. It is ironic that now, here in October, that Drury will now be looking to take the Rangers back to the playoffs for a thrid straight season.
