I have been reading your legacies for a while now and I have decided to start my own. Hope you guys enjoy and any advice or sugestions are welcome.

Joe Brunk had just woken up; he had been at a party with his wife and remembered nothing. But what he did remember was what his dad had done, all the fans were cheering. ESPN did a special report on him. Then it was all washed down the drain.

10 years before his father, Willie Brunk, took an underdog AAU team from Raleigh to compete in the national championships. They ended up losing the championship game 80-52.

A few weeks they found out that Willie had bet 300 thousand dollars that the Raleigh team would lose the game by 30 or more. A kid named Johnny Jackson scored the last two points at the buzzer. When the shot went in Willie rushed the court and complained to the refs that the shot should not have counted. That is when people questioned Willie.

One week after the game on Johnny’s Birthday July 6, he was tragically killed by a gunshot to the head while walking home from his date with his girl friend, by none other then Willie. Willie was sentence to 80-Life in the North Carolina state jail.

It was an ordinary day; he got up, shaved, took a shower and brushed his teeth. Then he went to go sit his fat *** on the couch while his wife made all of the money, selling bras at a local convenience store. He sat there watching TV for the next few hours till 2 in the afternoon.

The phone rang and he picked it up and said hello. He heard a guy with a high squeaky voice on the other end, he all ready had a head ache so he didn’t want for it to get worse. So, 15 seconds later the phone rang again he said hello but it was the same guy. This happened twice more and so Joe decided to talk to him the fourth time:

Joe: Hello

Voice: Hello, this is the AD from the University of Notre Dame, Kevin White

Joe: O, Man sorry bout the trouble with my phone, it hangs up randomly; it was only $5 at Target, they had a big sale

Kevin: I don’t want to here about your shopping deals, I am here to offer you the Head Coaching job at ND

Joe was used to these kind of offers because they think he will be like his dad. But he isn’t. He is better then his dad. He is better at coaching and he will never bet on any games. Joe has gotten offers from a bunch of D2 schools and lowly D1 schools.

Joe: This is by far the best team I have gotten an offer from but I am going to have to turn it down

Kevin: I guess the 1.3 mil a year won’t be coming you way.

Joe: Did I say turn down I meant accept, you have your new Head Basketball coach Mr. White. By the way, what happened to the old one?

Kevin: You can call me Kevin. Lets just say him and a professor, at the all girls college, St. Mary’s in Notre Dame “met” each other, and Tish, his wife wasn’t happy

Joe: That is all I need. Bye Kevin

Kevin: I will call back with other information. Bye

2007-2008 Notre Dame Roster
Starting Line-up
PG: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/desmin123/kyle.jpg
#23 Kyle McAlarney 6'1 JR 80 OVR
He is by far the best 3pt shooter on the team(85). He is not as fast as I would like for a PG(83). He is probaly going to lead the big east in assits with his great passing(91). All he has to do is give it to Luke.
SG: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/desmin123/tory.jpg
#2 Tory Jackson 5'10 SO 76 OVR
He is the fastest player on the team(94). He has the best defense(80). He will not score much unless he has a wide open shot. He will be a role player for our team. He is not he starting PG because of his low passing(77).

SF: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/desmin123/zach.jpg
#33 Zach Hillesland 6'9 JR 68
This kid is nothing special. He is the worst overall in the starting line-up. He has ok rebounding(83). His best attribute is inside shooting(93).

PF: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/desmin123/irish.jpg
#31 Rob Kurz 6'9 SR 79 OVR
He is the lone Senior in the starting line-up and on the team. Overall good player. He can score, rebound, play a liite D. Whatever you need Rob has it.

C: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn216/desmin123/luke.jpg
#44 Luke Harangody 6'8 So 86 OVR
He very short for his position. The SF and PF are even taller then him. But he can socre in the post and inside(96). He is the best rebounder on the team(90). He will probaly be the leading scorer if his height does not hurt him.

6th Man
SG #20 Jonathan People 6'3 So 70 OVR- Fast and an average score(mid 70's in all shoot)

Bench:
SF #1 Tyrone Nash 6'8 FR 66 OVR- B- Potential
SF #42 Ryan Ayers 6'8 JR 65 OVR- 73 3pt

Kevin: We would like to welcome Joe Brunk. He will answer questions that you guys have about the team or any other matter that you would like to address.

Joe: Hey, First I want to say that I am sorry for going off on one of the reporters the last time I was here. Lets get this thing rolling. Ask an question you want I will try to answer it with the best of my ability.

1stReporter: We see that the tallest player in the starting line-up is 6’9. How do you think you will matchup with some of the teams in your conference or other teams that have a tall line-up? Like Georgetown. Will you address this problem with recruiting?

Joe: The only team I have looked at is Long Island. However, to answer your question, we only have a short C. The power forward is 6’9 and so is the SF. Therefore, we do lack a tall player but we have three decent sized players out there. I do not know that our height is a problem, yet. I cannot tell because we have not played a game yet. What I can tell you is that I will address any problems with recruiting. Next!!

2ndReporter: Who are your assistant coaches going to be? Are you going to keep the ones that are there?

Joe: Well let me introduce the two of them. The first one, sitting to my left is Marshall Christensen. He was the assistant for my dad’s old team. He was a great teacher (A-) to the kids that he coached. He will be my main helper with the recruiting (B). The second one sitting to my left is Jerrod Northern. He was the other teams coach in the championship game that my dad lost. He will mainly help me with setting up my defense and running the plays (Both at B-). He will also help me keep my guys in line and out of trouble (B-).

1st Reporter Again: There were reports that the Oreo and Keebler companies have paid the University to advertise them any way they can. Are these true?

Joe: Yes, they are. They put down the Oreo stickers down yesterday during our practice. They are in two corners of floor. The Keebler Elf occupies the other two corners. There are also banners and advertisements all around the arena. Where ever you look you see sweet looking cookies

1st Reporter Again: Are your players slipping on these stickers like we see in the NCAA tournament?

Joe: We are lucky to have a great arena maintenance staff that the slipping problem is not a problem.

Kevin: Thanks for coming; he has to go prepare for our first game against the Long Island Blackbirds.

I dont no if the cookie thing is exactly legal. Since a company is sponsering a college. I guess it is the arena. But I dont know?

Long Island Blackbirds @ Notre Dame Irish

No Height Vs Even Less Height

1st Half
The game began with a 6-0 run for the Irish. Luke Harangody, who ended up with 22, made the first basket of the season. It was between a 4-7 point lead for them until the Kyle McAlarney hit a 3 with 4:42 left in the half. This made it a 10-point lead. The Irish went in up 31-23 at the break. Harangody lead all scorers with 12 at the break. The stifling full court trap was winning had forced 7 turnovers already.

Reporter Jimmy Dykes caught up with coach Brunk after the first half:
Jimmy: Coach, you outrebounded the Blackbirds 11-6 in the half. How do you think they did?
Joe: We Rebounded OK, we could do better. There tallest player is 6’7, we should have 15 rebounds and they have like 3

2nd Half
The Irish led the whole half but the lead shrunk down to 1 with 9:42. Kotorobai hit two threes to keep his team in the game. The Irish fought hard but the Blackbirds kept fighting harder. McAlarney turned it on as he hit 11 straight points for the Irish capping the 15 point lead. That was the turning point for the Irish as the lead never got to be single digits again. The final score 71-52 in the Irish’s favor.

Coach Overview:Well I am very disapointed to say that we lost that game. I think that they are a very good team, especially at 3's. They made it rain tonight shooting 8/12. I no most of those were contended but we are still going to work defending the perimeter. I am happy to see that my team has overcome there height differrential. They have out rebounded every team so far. Harangody has his first double-double in tonights game. He had his first great rebounding game and I think there will be many more to come.
