Coach Jim Boeheim steps down as head coach of Syracuse.

In a statement released today by coach Boeheim through Syracuse University he stated "It has been an honor to coach this team, but with everything that has happened last year getting snubbed by the tournament committee and then losing Andy over the summer in the FIBA tournament, (Andy Rautins Plays for the Canadian National Team) I feel it is time for me to take a break from coaching and spend some time with my family."
Syracuse officials said that they have a candidate in mind for the position and that they were going to consult coach Boeheim before hiring their next coach but declined to comment further.

Syracuse Announces Preston as head coach.

Today Syracuse University announced that their search for a head coach had ended. After the untimely retirement of Coach Jim Boeheim who led the Orange along with freshman Carmelo Anthony to the national championship in 2003. The University's athletic director announced at a press conference earlier today that Lewis Preston, an assistant at Notre Dame for the past 6 years would take over as head coach. Preston helped Notre Dame to a 118-70 (.628) mark in six years in South Bend, including three NCAA Tournament appearances and a Sweet 16 showing in 2003. Preston has had the opportunity to work with two former players currently in the NBA --Troy Murphy (Indiana Pacers) and Ryan Humphrey (Memphis Grizzlies). Both were first-round draft picks in back-to-back seasons as Murphy was the 14th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft, while Humphrey was a 19th selection in 2002.
School officials also announced that the schedule for the upcoming season would be released in a few days.

ha! yes

Some suggestions: either bench or release Wright. First of all, he's not on the team in real life so it'd be more authentic, and second, Flynn is way better (you should edit him a little if he's only a 71 right now). If you want, you can read my former Syracuse legacy...

N.I.T. Season Tip-Off
#20 Syracuse Orange Vs. Siena Saints
Tomorrow the #20 ranked Syracuse Orange will take on the Siena Saints in the N.I.T. Season Tip-Off. Syracuse comes in boasting one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. They will be led by junior shooting gaurd Eric Devendorf. This will be Syracuse's first game with new head coach Lewis Preston. Siena will be led by junior shooting guard Kenny Hasbrouck. Siena boasts a powerful offense, but will it be enough to overcome the 20th ranked Syracuse Orange and their trio of fantastic freshman?

Syracuse first game is one for the record books
Half----1st---2nd---F
Siena---26---14---40
SU -----44---36---80

Syracuse beats Siena in their first game of the season. Freshman forward Donte Greene lead the team with 26 points in only 13 min. of action, greene would only play the first minute of the second half and was given Player of the Game Honors. Greene was a perfect 9-9 from the feild and 3-3 from 3 point range, he would go 5-7 from the free throw line. The Orange shot a school record 74% from the field. Coach Preston had this to say after the game, "We played great, we definently could have played better defense in the first half. I think the real turning point of the game was the 9-0 run capped off by Donte's dunk where he got fouled.(Syracuse trailed 12-11 with just over 10 minutes to go in the half before the 9-0 run and the Greene dunk) I cant say enough about how well we played today, are shooting was obviously key to the win, but our bench players combined to out rebound our starters so we will have to work on that." Kenny Hasbrouck led Siena with 14 points and was the only Siena player to score in double figures, Edwin Ubiles scored 8 points in the first half but was shutout in the second half. When Hasbrouck was asked about the game afterwards he said "Terrible, it was all terrible our offense our defense everything."
Syracuse will take on St. Joseph's tomorrow in the N.I.T. Season Tip-Off finals.

Syracuse wins second straight behind Greene and Flynn's strong second half

Half-------1st---2nd---F

Paul Harris had an off night going 2-7 from the field scoring 4 points and grabbing 3 boards. Rick Jackson was solid off the bench again grabbing 7 rebounds to go along with his 6 points. Coach Preston didn't have time to comment as the team had to rush to make their trip for their game against Dayton on Friday. Pat Calathes was the leading scorer for St. Joseph's with 13 points. Pat was asked to comment about the game "We just couldn't get our offense going, they are a great team, theres a reason they are ranked #20 in the nation and they should probably be ranked a little higher than that."
Syracuse will face Washington next week in the semi-finals of the N.I.T. Tip-Off.

Syracuse uses a strong second half to beat Washington
Half----1st---2nd---F
Wash.--27---26----53
SU-----33---39----72

Washington hung close with the orange in the first half by causing turnovers, but in the second half the Orange's balance of talent would prove to be too much for the Huskies. Syracuse outscored Washington 39 to 26. Syracuse converted 20 of 21 free throw attempts and cruised to an easy victory. Paul Harris scored 12 points and collected 10 rebounds and is the first Syracuse player to get a double double this season. Donte Greene received his fourth consecutive player of the game award. Quincy Pondexter led all UW players with 11 points.
Coach Lewis Preston Had this to say after the game "We really improved from our last game our rebounding was excellent and we were boxing out a lot better. Now thats not to say we dont have things to work on from this game. We committed most of our fouls in the first half which helped keep Washington in the game, so we will really have to work on committing less fouls and less stupid turnovers."

Next Game: N.I.T. Season Tip-Off Final
#21 Syracuse (4-0) VS. #9 Texas A&M (4-0)

CP: Well I was nervous, we were only up 4 but when Carter missed that 3 and we got the rebound and they fouled I had confidence because I knew my guys would hit the free throws."

OR:Coach what did you think of Josh Carter?

CP: Well you have to give the kid credit, he went out and with a broken finger still managed to perform well. He really put the team on his back and carried them in that second half.

OR:Coach Donte Greene won his fifth consecutive player of the game award and was named the N.I.T. Season Tip-Off player of the tournament."

Syracuse runs up the score on UMass behind a strong second half

Half---------1st---2nd---F
UMass------ 28----23---51
Syracuse----34----43---82

Gary Forbes was on fire in the first half, scoring 19 points and hitting 4 3-pointers. The second half however was a completely different story, Forbes would only score 3 points in the second half he hit a 3 late in the game but was unable to regain his form from the first half.
Four Syracuse starters would score in double figures lead by Donte Greene's 22. Greene received his 6th player of the game award, scoring 18 of his 22 points in the second half.

Orange Report:"Coach what are your thoughts on the game tonight?"

Coach Preston: "Well I thought we played well... in the second half that is, I'm really disappointed that we were out rebounded again tonight. In the second half we did a much better job of everything rebounding, ball control shooting and especially defense. If we wouldn't of stepped up on defense at the end we would be looking at a very different box score."

Syracuse Key Players
Donte Greene - 22 points, 4 steals, 3 blocks
Paul Harris - 20 points, 8 rebounds
Jonny Flynn - 14 points, 8 assists, 6 steals

UMass Key Players
Gary Forbes - 22 Points, 5 rebounds
Papa Lo - 10 points, 9 rebounds

Coach Preston: "Yeah its just a sprained ankle he should be back at 100% in about a week."

Orange Report: "Coach you play Virginia on their homecourt on wednesday what is your strategy going into that game?"

Coach Preston: "Well Virginia is a very good team probably the best team we will have faced so far this year. That said we are gonna stick to our gameplan and run the ball as much as we can."

Bruce Clemons is a 3 star 6-8 222 lbs. SF at Warren High. He is the 18th rated SF in the nation and the 104th rated recruit overall. He averaged 15.1 points 8.1 rebounds 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game in the summer A.B.L.
Bruce chose to sign with Syracuse on the first day of the in season signing period.

Orange Report: "Coach what can you tell us about the recruits you signed for the upcoming season?"

Coach Preston: "Well they are both very talented players and they have earned their scholarships. Jordan is a lightning quick point guard with an outstanding ability to get the ball to his teammates and Bruce is probably the most underrated recruit in the nation. Bruce led his ABL team in every statistical category. He is an excellent shooter and is an athletic freak. Im really looking forward to getting these guys on the court next year."

Syracuse bounces back against Rhode Island

Half---------1st---2nd---F
Rhode Island-32----43---75
Syracuse----47----48---95

Syracuse would come out firing in this one hitting their first 3 3 pointers, they would go 6 of 12 on 3 pointers, a vast improvement over the 1 of 14 they shot from 3 point land against Virginia. Donte Greene led the team with 32 points and 7 rebounds on his way to his 7th player of the game award. Eric Devendorf played a great game as well scoring 22 points and dishing 4 assists. Jonny Flynn and Paul Harris would both score 10 points in the second half and Scoop Jardine scored 9 off the bench. Defense was a problem again for Syracuse in this game as Rhode Island connected on 10 3 point attempts. Jimmy Baron of Rhode Island was unstoppable hitting 6 of 8 3 pointers on his way to scoring 20 points. Will Daniels also played good for R.I. scoring 18 points grabbing 4 boards and dishing 5 assists but his game high 4 turnovers really hurt his team.

Syracuse Key Players
Donte Greene(P.O.T.G.) - 32 points, 7 rebounds, 0 turnovers
Eric Devendorf - 22 points, 4 assists, 2 steals
Jonny Flynn - 10 points, 6 assists, 1 steals
Paul Harris - 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block

Rhode Island Key Players
Jimmy Baron - 20 points, 3 assists, 0 turnovers
Will Daniels - 18 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists
Joe Mbang - 12 points, 5 rebounds

Hey to anybody who is following my legacy and is interested in real life college recruiting I went to the Nike Hoops Summit today and watched the top high school(soon to be college) players in the nation play on the U.S. U-19 national team against a group of select International U-19 players. Let me say UCLA is gonna be pretty good next year as 4 of the ten players on the U.S. team are headed to UCLA. If anyone wants to create these guys as recruits to use in your legacy let me know and I can hook you up with their info and I can give you an idea of statistically what kind of player they are.

Syracuse hot shooting leads them to a win in their first conference game
Half------1st---2nd-- F
St. Johns-26---24---50
Syracuse-43---39---82

In a mostly one sided game Syracuse would win handily over rival St. Johns who has so far this year failed to impress posting a (4-8) record. For Syracuse its was their sixth consecutive win after losing to #20 Virginia on a controversial call. The Orange opened the game on a 19 - 4 run and never looked back. Eric Devendorf and Donte Greene lead the team in the first half, while Jonny Flynn lead the team in the second half. Greene lead the team in scoring with 22 points and 5 rebounds and was awarded player of the game honors. D.J. Kennedy seemed like the only player for St. Johns who was trying to win the game. He scored 14 points and made hustle plays all game long. The play of the game was by far the best play I have ever made in this game. Paul Harris stole an inbound pass, flicked it behind his head to Sean Williams my backup center who reverse dunked it over the player who inbounded the ball. It was so amazing.

Syracuse Key Players
Donte Greene(POTG) - 22 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks
Eric Devendorf - 20 points, 3 assists
Jonny Flynn - 17 points, 4 assists, 3 steals

St. Johns Key Player

Syracuse gets the win behind a strong second half effort
Half------1st---2nd-- F
Rutgers---30---23---53
Syracuse-31---41---72

Syracuse is rolling now with their 10th straight victory, their latest win coming against Rutgers. Rutgers would put up a heck of a fight in the first half before rolling over in the early minutes of the second half. Syracuse made several adjusments to their offense and defense at halftime and it really paid off. Syracuse opened the second half with a 19 to 6 scoring run. Donte Greene scored 19 points in the first half including the teams first 13 points. In the second half Paul Harris, Eric Devendorf and Jonny Flynn led the team scoring the bulk of their points in the second half.
Syracuse next couple of games will be very difficult as they face #21 Villlanova and rival #20 Georgetown in the next few days.

Syracuse Key Players
Donte Greene(POTG) -F- 29 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Paul Harris -SF- 14 points, 7 rebounds

Jonny Flynn -PG- 11 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals

Syracuse wins by hitting triple digits
Half------1st---2nd-- F
Villanova-40---41---81
Syracuse-42---58---100

Syracuse is still rolling with their 11th straight victory, their latest win coming against Villanova. Donte Greene set a career high with 42 points in a game that featured two of the best offenses in the country(Syracuse ranks #1 in the nation). Villanova played a great game but in the end wasn't able to keep up or contain anyone in a white uniform. Four players scored double digits for Syracuse. The orange hit triple digits for the first time this season and seemed to score at will against the lackluster Villanova defense.
Syracuse next game is against rival #15 Georgetown.

Syracuse Key Players
Donte Greene(POTG) -F- 42 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Paul Harris -SF- 14 points, 9 rebounds
Eric Devendorf -SG- 17 points, 9 assists, 3 steals
Jonny Flynn -PG- 11 points, 6 assists
Arinze Onuaku -C- 2 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists

Villanova Key Players
Corey Stokes -SF- 34 points, 3 rebounds
Corey Fisher -G- 8 points, 12 assists
Scottie Reynolds -G- 10 points, 4 assists

Cincy has his sliders posted in the General Forum with a thread called things to know about CH. They are for 13 min halfs on MOP, he also list several good ones available on 2k share for other difficutlies.

Personally though for me. I have found that for some reason my last several games the computer FG% keeps going up

Yeah I dont get it i was playin on all-american for 4 games and then on my 5th one the comp just all the sudden started playing insanely good like only missing like 1 out of every 10 or 15 shots so I stopped my legacy and I have been testing my sliders in exibition games. It is so dang frustrating tho

If you're still having problems with sliders, check this out.

Link (http://www.operationsports.com/forums/college-hoops-2k-sliders/244242-your-guide-better-sliders.html)

Mainly, this section...(in parentheses is the sliders that will affect it. The numbers are what your numbers should be around)

FG Attempts = 48-62 (GAMEPLAY- minutes per half)
FG % = 37-48 (SLIDERS: SHOOT- Inside, Mid, 3pt, Dunk, Layup)
Assists = 8-18 (SLIDERS: ATTRIBUTES- Offensive Awareness)

It's a great thread, and I told Cincy to add it to his thread on things to know (which he'll do).

I have bad news guys.................
I accidentally saved over my legacy:( So just a recap of what I remember:
I lost like 5 of my last 8 and finished second in my conference. Then I lost my first game in the Big East Tournament to Georgetown. But In the NCAA tournament I was boss, I won every game on my way to a championship(which I beat Memphis to win and Donte Greene was the freshman of the year and a second team all american he averaged about 24 points per game. So Im sorry to everyone who was following but Im gonna start a closed legacy next so anyone who has a closed team that hasnt been insanely overused let me know so I can get my next one started.

It sucks this happened but thats what I get for lookin for a job I guess lol But Im gonna start a new closed one so if you have any suggestions let me know.
Just a little more detail on what happened I went to look for a new job today and when I got home I was super tired so I was playin one of my other legacys just foolin around and I saved it right over my Syracuse legacy so from now on Im gonna make two copys of my legacy so this doesnt happen again.

Yeah, I've done that before, so now I save two copies of my legacy in addition to a third copy which I update every season.

Yeah it was the noobiest thing I have ever done I have no idea why I didnt save more than one
