Guidelines
Special thanks to Blue-Lightning and others for their efforts in the creation of this document.
The following guidelines are meant to help 2K Sports community members in determining what actions are not permitted on the forums. Moderators have a strict code of regulation to go by to when users fail to comply with these guidelines but are free to use some discretion. If you feel that you have been wronged, please contact the administrator, Ronnie, or a super moderator, who may elect to modify a moderators' prior actions at any time for any reason. These rules are subject to be amended, so please keep your eyes on the Announcements board. Thank you.
0.0 – General Directions
0.1 – Read Announcements
Please read all announcements and stickies before posting in a forum. There might be directions posted refraining you from certain posts or your answers might already be available. We have placed them to save you and other users time. Continued failure to do so will lead you to be subject to the punishments deemed in the stickies, if applicable.
0.2 – Right to Privacy
You will not violate a person’s privacy by publishing information that is private and personal against another member’s will. Doing so could lead to potential permanent banning.
0.3 – Post-Pumping
Do not post simply to add to your numbers. Continued attempts to do so could lead to permanent banning.
0.4 – Petitions
Please do not spam petitions to the forums. Petitions are not an effective means of voicing your opinion. If you have concerns, please contact 2K Sports Tech Support at 415-507-7750.
0.5 – Seeing Objectionable Material
Due to the real-time nature of the forums, the moderators cannot monitor all the content of posted messages and rely on members to inform them of objectionable material.

Please keep in mind that moderators cannot always respond immediately to such notices and a period of time may pass before action is taken.
1.0 – Language
1.1 - Minor Language Abuse
Description: Post contains one or several language filter abuses of the following words: damn, *******, ****, *** or any variation.
1.2 - Continued Minor Language Abuse
Description: User disregards warning in 1.1, continues to post threads with minor language abuses.
1.3 - Major Language Abuse
Description: Post contains one or several language filter abuses of the following words: ****, god damn, ****, ****, ***got, *****, ***** or any variation.
1.4 - Continued Major Language Abuse
Description: User disregards warning in 1.3, continues to post threads with major language abuses.
1.5 - Racial, Ethnic, or Religious Slurs
2.0 - Flaming
2.1 - Flaming Post
Description: User speaks negatively to or about another user in a personal or inappropriate manner.
2.2 - Flaming Thread
Description: User creates a thread with the main purpose of speaking negatively or positively to or about another user or subject (console wars, game wars, etc.) in a personal or inappropriate manner to illicit a response which leads to the eventual result of a flame war.
2.3 - Crude Flaming
Description: User creates a post or thread in which the main purpose is to speak negatively to or about another user in a personal or inappropriate manner, and the way in which this is achieved is crude, vile, obscene, and/or malicious.
2.4 – Unappropriately Directed Questions
Description: Even with the influx of moderators, it is impossible for 2K Sports to respond to every question or post. Posts asking 2k Sports questions must direct their questions appropirately. Posts titled, “FORUM ADMIN…” are not an effective way to communicate.
2.5 - Continued Flaming/Misdirection
Description: User ignores moderative actions against his/her prior threads and continues to post thread(s) speaking negatively to or about another user in a personal or inappropriate manner.
2.6 - Administrator / Moderator Flaming
Description: User creates a post or thread in which the main purpose is to speak negatively to or about a moderator in a personal or inappropriate manner. Please watch for criticism that is constructive, and refrain from banning.
2.7 - 2K Sports and 2K Sports Product Flaming - Major
Description: User creates a post or thread in which the main purpose is to speak negatively to or about 2K Sports in an inappropriate manner (i.e. intent is not to critique or vent).
2.8 - Spamming the Forum(s) with Flaming
See 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3
3.0 - Spam
3.1 - Spamming, First Offense
Description: User purposefully spams the forum(s) with threads of the same or nearly the same content.
3.2 - Spamming, Second Offense
Description: User purposefully spams the forum(s) with threads of the same or nearly the same content after a previous suspension.
3.3 - Spam Zerging
Description: User purposefully spams the forum(s) with high numbers of threads with the obvious intent to cause disruption and push other posts off the main page.
3.4 - Spam Bot
Description: User posts nonsensical or off-topic threads as their first posts.
4.0 - Trolling
4.1 - Petty Trolling
Description: User posts nonsensical, off-topic, or disruptive posts which serve no beneficial purpose.
4.2 - Continued Trolling
Description: User shows disregard for moderative actions and continues to post nonsensical, off-topic, or disruptive posts which serve no beneficial purpose.
4.3 - Habitual Trolling
Description: User shows disregard for moderative actions and continues to post nonsensical, off-topic, or disruptive posts which serve no beneficial purpose, even after receiving a suspension.
4.4 - Multiple Account Abuse / Account Names with Insults
Description: User creates multiple username accounts or setup account names with shots at the product/users in order to bypass suspensions, bans, or to manipulate interactions.
5.0 - Solicitation
5.1 - Soliciting Competing Products
Description: User promotes the sales of products in direct competition with 2K Sports in such a way as to recommend, promote, or push the competing product over the 2K Sports product.
5.2 - Continued Solicitation of Competing Products
Description: User ignores moderator's warning and continues to post in such a way as to promote the sales of products in direct competition with 2K Sports over the 2K Sports product.
5.3 - Product Solicitation Threads
Description: User creates thread(s) with the expressed intent to promote the sale of a product directly to readers.
5.4 - Soliciting Negative Actions Against 2K Sports and/or Associated En******
Description: User creates a thread, poll, or post with the intent to promote or solicit any negative action against 2K Sports or an associated entity.
5.5 - Soliciting "Forum Wars," Spamming, Flaming, etc
Description: User creates a thread, poll, or post with the intent to promote or solicit "forum wars", spamming, flaming, etc.
6.0 - Inappropriate Content
6.1 - Posting or Linking Pornography
Description: User creates a thread or post with images or movies featuring nudity or links with images or movies featuring nudity.
6.2 - Posting or Linking Racist, Hate Mongering, Gratuitously Violent/Gory, or Offensive Content
Description: User creates a thread or post or links to information with the above content.
6.3 - Inappropriate Content Bot
Description: - User creates a thread featuring inappropriate content as their first post.
7.0 - Miscellaneous
7.1 - Continued Misconduct
Description: - User has three separate suspensions for similar offenses in the past and merits an additional suspension.
