SF #1 Alex Barnett JR. 6'6 205
Alex Barnett is a junior small forward who is capable of playing positions 1-5 on the court. Barnett averaged just under 12 points per game last year. Coach Murphy said this about Barnett “He's an all-league performer on both ends of the court, offensively and defensively. He's garnered the respect of every coach in the Ivy League. We are looking to him for leadership on and off the court.” Barnett will be the team captain this year and will run the offense, every offensive possession will start in Barnett's hands.

Dartmouth Falls To Air Force Despite A second Half Comeback
The Big Green were able to keep close in the beginning of the first half. But as the first half wound down they lost focus and fell behind by 10 going into halftime. In the second half the Big Green matched every Air Force scoring run with one of their own but were unable to overcome the 10 point deficit from the first half. Andrew Henke received Player of the game, his 25 points led all scorers and was the only player that scored in double digits for the Falcons. Air Force won the game on 3-pointers, they shot 8 - 18 from the 3-point line while Dartmouth shot a dismal 2 - 12.

Dartmouth beats Northern Colorado in the Hangar Challenge
The Big Green were able to trade baskets with Northern Colorado in the first half, but trailed 34 - 33 going into halftime. In the second half the Big Green opened with a strong effort but were unable to hold back the Bears as they took the lead 40 - 39 with 11:09 left in the half. Coach Murphy called a timeout and told his players that if they wanted to win they would have to play better than their best. Alex Barnett took that to heart scoring 14 points in the final 11 minutes of the game. He finished with 34 points and received Player of the game honors, his 34 points led all scorers. Dartmouth used 3-pointers to win this one as they shot 8 - 14 from the 3-point line while Northern Colorado shot 6 - 19 from deep.

Yea, in my legacy he hit liek 5 or 6 straight 3s to come back from 10 down with under 3 minutes left to win by 2. He scored 32 i think. He avgs 27 for me. Archibeque did amazing the first game, but not so much the past 2. Mason is the all around guy averaging like 5 pts, rebs and assts, and Banks is my 2nd leading scorer. They are fun to play with, but you got a very nice W over them

Dartmouth guard Robby Pride drains a 3 to keep The Big Green in the game
The Big Green put up more of a fight than anyone would expect an Ivy league school to put up against a Big East school. Although Dartmouth fought valiantly to overcome deficits they were never able to gain the lead from the Scarlet Knights but were able to stay within striking distance throughout the entire game. Junior forward Alex Barnett lead his team with 18 points despite only playing 6 minutes in the first half because of foul trouble. In the end the superior talent of the Big East school Rutgers was just to much for the not so Big Green.

Nicholas Earl Jr. 6'3 166 lbs Manchester, New Hampshire
Nicholas Earl Jr. is a 3 star recruit out of NH. He is an outstanding mid to long range shooter. Scouts say the sky is the limit for this kid potential wise (A potential). He chose to sign with Dartmouth over the University of New Hampshire. There is a possibility he will switch to point guard after his freshman season because he is seen as being undersized to play shooting guard.
(Signed letter of intent during in season signing period)

Cameron O'Hara 6'6 216 lbs Quincy, Massachusetts
Cameron O'Hara is 3 star recruit out of Massachusetts. He is a solid all around player. He is a very good ball handler and passer, he has the ability to shut people down on defense, he is a very good outside shooter and can take it to the rim. He will be expected to replace team captain Alex Barnett.
(Cameron is 98% interested in playing at Dartmouth)

Alex Barnett dunks in two of his game high 19 points
Dartmouth came out ready to play against Quinnipiac, Alex Barnett lead the Big Green through the first half scoring 10 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Dartmouth took a 2 point lead into halftime despite leading by 10 for most of the first half. The second half was more of the same for Dartmouth as they led 51 to 40 with just under 4 minutes left in the game. Then Dartmouth went cold from the floor and Quinnipiac scored 15 unanswered points to go up 55 to 51. On Dartmouth's next possesion Alex Barnett dunked in a monster jam with about two and a half minutes remaining to make it 53 to 55. The teams traded baskets on the next two possesions and with 44 seconds left Barnett drove to the hoop with a chance to tie the game. He was mauled at the rim by the Bobcats as three players swatted Barnett's attempt sending Barnett to the ground. With Barnett on the ground Quinnipiac hurried down court and with about 30 seconds left drained a wide open 3 pointer making it 60 to 55. Dartmouth missed their next attempt and then fouled but it was to no avail as the Big Green would fall 65 to 58.

Dartmouth Vs. Siena
Dartmouth established an early lead behind Alex Barnett who scored the first 13 points for the Big Green. But Barnett's excellent play was more of a curse than a blessing as everyone else on his team struggled to score throughout the entire game. The Big Green took a small lead into halftime and knew they would have to play even harder in the second half if they wanted to win this game. But they didn't and they were outscored by Siena 42 to 29 in the second half and were never able to get it going. Kenny Hasbrouck caught fire for Siena, scoring 14 of his 18 points in the second half. Alex Barnett was the only player for Dartmouth that reached double figures. In what will forever be known as "The Steal" Michael Giovacchini drives to score against Princeton
Dartmouth and Princeton battled in this game like they were playing for a national title. Princeton came out hot and jumped out to an early 15-5 lead. But Dartmouth would comeback with a fury going on a 20-6 run to make it 25-21. The teams would trade buckets for the rest of the half and Dartmouth would take a 36-32 lead into halftime. Dartmouth Junior Captain Alex Barnett scored 23 points in the first half. In the second half Princeton would come back to tie the game and the teams would trade baskets until just under 1 minute remained. In college basketball or any level of basketball for that matter certain players are presented the opportunity to be great, Michael Giovacchini was offered that chance in this game. With about 50 seconds remaining and Princeton leading 60-59 Michael Giovacchini was given his chance... Noah Savage attempted a cross court pass to Kyle Koncz, Gio caught a glimpse of Savage throwing the pass and jumped in front of the ball. He poked it ahead of himself and drove as hard and fast as he could to his rim and with 33.5 seconds remaining he dropped in a layup over TWO Princeton defenders to give Dartmouth a 61-60 lead. On Princeton's next possession they missed a three and were forced to foul. Alex Barnett calmly hit 2 free throws making it 63-60. Again Princeton rushed down court and missed a contested three and again they fouled Barnett who again hit 2 free throws to score his 39th and 40th points of the game a career high for him. Barnett would also be named Player of the Game. Dartmouth would walk away with a 65-60 victory.

Box Score

Half--------1st---2nd-- F

Princeton Key Players
Noah Savage -F- 23 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Kyle Koncz -G- 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Zach Woolridge -C- 9 points, 11 rebounds

Dartmouth Vs. Penn
Dartmouth would dominate this game from the very beginning and Penn would never be able to overcome the deficit from the first half. Alex Barnett was unable to capture the magic from the Princeton game where he set a career high with 40 points. But thats not to say that Barnett didn't play an outstanding game, he did all the little things for his team and filled up the stat sheet. Devon Mosley was named Player of the Game.

Dartmouth Boasts One Of The Most Talented Starting Line Ups In The Ivy League
Dartmouth has found their starting line up. Coach Murphy has been experimenting all season with different line ups and after the recent performance of his starters he has decided to stick with this starting line up until they show otherwise. The Starters are PG (#25 Above left) Michael Giovacchini who has played strongly as of late and scored 17 tonight against Brown. Devon Mosley SG (#30 Above middle) has played solid all year but has found his outside shot recently which has lead to much of the teams success. Alex Barnett SF (#1 Above right) who by far is this teams best player and is a candidate to be a first team All American. Jonathan Ball PF who is a bit undersized at 6'4 but plays much bigger and is constantly making hustle plays. Adam Powers C He is actually a PF but has been starting at center because 7'0 C John Marciano struggles when he starts and plays much better coming off the bench. Darmouth dominated this entire game, Brown was never able to get it going as they shot 18 of 47 for the game. Alex Barnett had a double double in another strong performance and was named Player of the Game.

Alex Barnett put up another solid performance this time at home against Yale
Dartmouth played a solid first half but in the second half Yale would make a strong push. With Yale only trailing by 3 with 1:45 remaining Eric Flato dibbled the ball up court and as he turned to drive Devon Mosley poked the ball away and drove it down court he went up and dunked the ball and got fouled! He would hit the free throw to make it 79 - 73. Yale wasn't done yet though as they rattled off 5 straight points making it 77 - 79 with just over 30 seconds to play. Alex Barnett would hold the ball until about 10 seconds were left, he then drove to the hoop and with 7.9 seconds remaining he made a driving lay up. 7 Dartmouth Vs. 10 Utah State
Dartmouth finished the year 20-4 behind their new head coach Dan Murphy. He coached the team to a 14-0 record in conference play. Last season Dartmouth went 9-18(4-10 in Ivy Leauge) so the turnaround has been a pleasant surprise for the Big Green fans as they didn't expect much in Coach Murphy's first season. Dartmouth is ranked 8th in the Mid-Major poll and has received a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament.
The Big Green will face Utah State who are ranked 3rd in the Mid-Major poll. Jaycee Carroll is Utah State's leading scorer at 22.1 ppg.
Dartmouth Junior Captain Alex Barnett finshed the season ranked 2nd in the nation scoring at 25.1 ppg, he also averaged 6.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Barnett is the favorite to win Ivy League player of the year and is likely to be named to either the first or second All American Team.

Mosley also did a great job on defense holding Utah State's leading scorer Jaycee Carroll under his season average. Alex Barnett scored 24 points and had this to say about his teammate "D-Mo works hard everyday and is by far the best shooter on our team, his stats don't really show it but he plays like this every game he just got more opportunities to shoot in this one because the other team under estimated him." Dartmouth tries to upset #2 seed Michigan State

Saying Dartmouth came ready to play would be an understatement, saying they came to win, now that would be right on the money. Dartmouth opened on a 13 to 2 run and scored the first 8 points of the game. The scoring duo of Devon Mosley and Alex Barnett proved successful again as they accounted for 40 of Dartmouth's 72 points.
While on the defensive end a combo of Michael Giovacchini and Marlon Sanders proved effective as they held Drew Neitzel to 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting.
One of the main reasons Dartmouth was able to win this game was the turnover margin. Dartmouth forced Michigan State into 12 turnovers while only committing 5 of their own.

Dartmouth came into this game with high expectations as well they should after knocking off #2 seed Michigan State. By halftime those expectations had been wiped clean. USC jumped all over Dartmouth from the very beginning. Opening the game with a 19-5 scoring run. Dartmouth would trail by 10 35-45 at the half. OJ Mayo came out even stronger in the second half and helped keep his team cool despite the small runs Dartmouth was making.
Dartmouth chipped away until there were only 6.8 seconds remaining and they only trailed by one 67-68. Now on the play before Dartmouth would get the ball, OJ Mayo shot a 3-pointer despite the fact that the shot clock had been turned off and all they had to do to win the game was hold the ball. Alex Barnett grabbed the rebound and immediately called a timeout. So with 6.8 seconds remaining Dartmouth inbounded the ball Barnett threw it in to Marlon Sanders who threw it right back to Barnett who drove hard and pulled up for a mid range jump shot with 0.6 seconds remaining....
He was fouled by Keith Wilkinson and would have 2 free throws and a chance to win the game!
He stepped up to the line... first shot up and swish nothin but net
He stepped back to the line........
Second shot up and Swish again nothin but the bottom of the net!!!!
USC inbounded the ball and threw up a prayer but the ball fell short and Dartmouth was movin on to the Elite 8.

Dartmouth takes on #1 seed Kansas

Would Dartmouth be the next Cinderella to make it to the Final Four!? That question you can say was answered to the sound of an emphatic NO!
Kansas showed why they were given the top seed in this tournament by starting the game on a 12-2 run and leading 43-19 at halftime. Their star players were in full effect by half time. Meanwhile Dartmouth's stars Alex Barnett and Devon Mosley were nowhere to be found. Barnett and Mosley combined to score 10 points in the first half. While Barnett would be able to do some scoring in the second half it would never be enough as the Kansas Jayhawks would roll to an easy victory and punch their ticket to the final four.
After the game Dartmouth's coach had this to say: "I'm proud of my guys, we really struggled in the first half but instead of giving up they fought hard and outscored Kansas in that second half. And while I wish we were headed to the Final Four I couldn't be happier with the season we have had and also how hard my guys have worked."

(Signed letter of intent during in season signing period)

wow, nice win against USC! Tough loss against a deep Kansas team. You got all the way to the Elite 8 though. I'm thinking about starting a legacy, but I don't know if I have the time to post. How long does it usually take you?

You should def post a legacy it makes the games worth playing and as long as you schedule tough opponents it keeps you interested. It usually takes me about 3-5 minutes per post sometimes a little more or less but usually about 3-5 minutes.
