Straight from the PM for Top Spin 3:
In TopSpin 2, a power player could win against the AI in offline mode, but not against a ball control player in online competition. Thus ball control always trumped power and effectively negated a power build for online competition. This has been remedied for Top Spin 3.
In single player you're no longer forced to switch sides after every couple of games and continue to play from the bottom of the screen.
Another issue was cut scenes after every single point, no matter how unimportant or poor the point was. These can now be buttoned through and there are options for replay mode that will make this a non-issue. Thank you.

Well, I'm glad they fixed the speed attribute. You couldn't compete online without having your player's speed maxed out.

ronnie, why the freakin game is delayed, that's what we want to know.

Here's the PR about the game delay:
Top Spin 3 will now be shipping June 23rd. This extra time will be used to ensure that Top Spin 3 contains the intensity and authenticity that has become synonymous with the 2K Sports brand.
There was a need for some small fine tuning. Honestly, it's 2K's pattern to not hold games much longer than their production finalization so there's no window when some minor tweaks need to be made. Those release dates come way early and aren't changed until absolutely necessary. Sorry for the convenience, but if those few weeks make a game that looks really really good absolutely great, I think it's worth it.

As far as game play questions, I'd rather do a QA with the PM like we are doing for Prizefighter. Please stay tuned for that.

Thanks for clarifying the first, for me it was something which would have probably made me decide not to get the game (or wait for it to be in the bargain bin).
Not sure exactly what "options for replay mode that will make this a non-issue." means but it's not so important as the changing sides thing :)

And not as important as being able to button through everything.

I built a power player in TS2 but couldn't use it at all online due to the crazy angles the ball control players were able to hit. I would have been playing online more, but I wanted to play with my created player, but couldn't. That's awesome about the power player, because it fits the style I tend to play in real life. :)
New Questions
1. Will we be able to import our player from Top Spin 2 into Top Spin 3? If so, will they maintain their attributes from the previous game?
2. Will we be able to challenge calls?
3. Can we use an existing player in career mode (such as Federer, Nadal)?

Well you can click through the cut scenes in TS2 but it's still:
1. extremely tedious
2. interrupts the flow of a match
3. reduces the impact of cutscenes on important/contentious points.

Thanks for the info! Great improvements there.
I will probably play this game for a long time so 1 month delay is fine with me if that makes the game better.
But about a QA- Please don´t bother if you will have the same type of questions as in the Prizefighter QA.That was just pointless and ridiculous.

I like top spin i think it's a very complete gameplay wise game but i would love for them to add 4 packs of DLC it would pay for itself if you released one every two weeks or month. Personally it's frustrating that a game that only comes out every 2 or 3 years can't sign more players for once i'd like to be able to play a 4 round tournament without adding girls. This is how i think you could package more players and make money with this list of stars.
These open so many different kinds of matches and even better make doubles that much more fun with these great pairings 2k could easily make it's money back with the release of these players. If they cant i sure hope that they have alot of spots for created players

Well it's up to your two mods, Valdarez & anESPNfan, to gather questions for a QA and then get it approved by you all. Like the second round for PF, I want to get 15 that most of you all can agree on. Thanks.
