Well... hopefully he will comeback for just one more season.
Oops! That wasn't nice.

Its cool but I also think its a little weird since he isn't playing... its like NCAA where you can't really play with the guy on the cover every year.

At least this way he avoids the curse.

It probably means he would never be in APF if there is one made next year.

U know that may have been EA's intentions all along. They were probably saying somthing like "hey lets put Favre on the cover so he has to sign with our bussiness and he cant go to 2K's APF"

:rotfl: He'll break his leg on his rocking chair watching a made-for-TV movie. I'm sure of it.

Not necessarily. He could have a Ben R. accident or something.
Maybe he hurts himself skiing or ice skating.
If not then there is no curse to avoid, because the curse is suppose to apply to whoever ends up on the cover outside of Madden of course. But who knows maybe he too was experiencing some pain we don't know.

I think EA's intention was to sign pump legends because that was one of the major things they added last year to deter from APF2K8. Now that 2K9 has been sidelined indefinitely and a legend coverboy, Madden now has everything to entice people away from the APF brand. So you'll most likely see Madden advertising the legends they have signed as well.

Well after I thought about it again, being associated with that joke of a football game is a curse in itself.

eh...i'm a packer fan and i hate ea but he deserves it. I haven't seen a white dude on the cover....ever besides madden himself (im black btw but it needed the diversity)

When you say diversity to you mean an old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era? :D

Im so glad it's a Packer. Maybe now the curse will just go to the Pack instead of Brett since he isnt playing.
I was relieved to see it was Favre because I truly thought Devin Hester was going to be on the cover... Im so glad he isnt. If the curse hit Hester I'd be a very sad Bears fan.

Also, for those who care about NCAA I've heard:
PS3: Matt Ryan
360: Darren McFadden
Or it could be vice versa.

I'll rent it. By the sound of things they're actually adding a whole lot. Whether or not that means there actually improving the gameplay is a different story, though.
I wonder if they will actually make Brett look like himself in the game. The last couple of years they haven't even been close.
EDIT:
I agree that Favre was EXTREMELY deserving to be on the cover. I am really glad he made it because he's by far my favorite player ever.

Wow, amazing..I just saw the trailer of Madden 09 reviewing the history of Brett Favre. The game show madden game clips i believe since 1992 to 2008 and the game mechanics and camera views look the same since 1992 to now? Come on Backbreaker you are a must buy now

Brett Farve's been hinting that he wants to come back.....i personally think he just doesn't want to go through training camp again. Anyways, I think the packers will make it to the playoffs and Farve will play...but then not win a SB and the curse will live on.

They should have paid tribute to his memory and also donated the money to his daughter's fund, and put Sean Taylor on the cover. It would have been awesome, as a Skins fan, even though Madden is trash.

You better get on your knees and beg forgiveness.
An insult to God like this could bring you some unwanted surprises from this day forward.

With all respect to his family and the fans, how long does this go on?
I would hope his daughter trust fund is pretty well stacked.
I mean he did put money away for her too right?
The team has done some things and so has the NFL.
While it would have been nice, I just think after a while it starts to go over the top.
