Why else would they give a kicker (S) stamina if they didn't want you to sub him in at his normal position of RT. He was a pro-bowler at the position for Cleveland as well as the place kicker. I got a negetive because I had him subbed. LOL
Your thoughts. It's like getting an extra player.

It's cheese....just because, he played that position in real life does not mean you can sub him in there.
The game has different build and mechanics for different positions.
For example:
- Video game: put a WR @ TE and he blocks as good if not better than a TE.
- Real life: put a WR @ TE and expect him to block lineman and LBs and he will get pulverized.
This is why out of position subs are considered cheese.

If he played there in real life its fine some people need to get a grip. Only cheese around here is the cheese coming out of their ears. Were talking about a O lineman jesus get a grip.

Although out of position subs are a pet peeve mine, Shouldnt the d-lineman be able to pulverize a kicker playing on the Oline anyway??

Not if hes kicker that played O line That would mean hes probably big.
But yeah I dont see an advantage of playing kickers on your line. LOL

If he is an older player that played along time ago, he might be small compared to O-lineman these days.

OK, using this logic.....you could put players anywhere you want because, before they got to the pros they probably played nearly every position on the field.

If there is no advantage then there is absolutely no reason to do it.

I think todays players get over rated by alot of people especially compared to the old players. I think the old players were ALOT tougher, durable, and nastier than todays players. IMO most of todays players wouldn't last a season playing against old school players (especially with old school rules).

I can agree with that to an extent.
But, todays players are much bigger, stronger and faster.

Of all places, I really don't see any harm here. He has stamina, you get a better place kicker, and to be blunt, it just seems like a SMART pick to me. I would cry more about someone like a certain gold TE that is also a kick returner. :P
Not to name names, of course. ;)
That said, I'd be interested to try this sub out, just for grins to see how well he holds up over the course of a game.

Did I mention the rash of WR's being subbed in as DB's I've been seeing lately? No?
That is far closer to sanity that a kicker on the O-line. :)

i cant believe people here would even consider this cheese. putting lou groza on the o-line is garbage. he will get flat backed on run plays and pass rushers will rip around him every time. i dont even know what to say..
putting a kicker at anything else does more harm then good. this applies to most positions. the only difference are similar positions. for example, putting a fullback at halfback. or putting a tight end at wide reciever. or putting a DE at DT. OLB at ILB, etc. but putting a QB at safety, CB as WR, K as o-line, etc ive tried before (all of those combos) and its utter garbage. if someone does that youll be glad they did, because the QB cant run, the CB cant catch, and the kicker will get flat backed.
and about lou groza. he should be able to be put in as a tackle. giving a kicker stamina bonus infers that. just like giving steve tasker special teams demon and big hit infers to put his *** on special teams. lou groza is in the hall of fame. he's in the hall of fame PRIMARILY because he was a tackle. he was a prototypical tackle of the day. he was 6-3 240. hall of famer art donovan was 6-2 260. lou groza could more then hold his own against lineman. but its just not represented in this game. put him in the game as a tackle. the game wont instantly recognize this hall of fame tackle, he'll play like anyone would expect a kicker to play at tackle- like crap.

Last night he took out greg loyd on a block. He has an Oline number in the 70's, he has the weight and height of a lineman. He went to the probowls as a lineman. 9 in all. He is a hall of famer. He just also happens to be one of the greatest kickers of all time. The designers made him to do this. I can't believe people are having a hard time with this.
I don't complain when you guys sub your precious TE at FB or your TE at WR.

If the guy played that position a majority of the time, there shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't care either IF the game did this type of substitution like it should.
Ok. He played this position in real life.
Does another kicker who DID NOT play this position provide similar playability when substituted in????
If so, that is the issue, because it means the game gives general attributes and in most cases boosted attributes to be successful in that position.
If we are going to want and welcome whatever substitutions then there must be penalties for playing out of positions with regard to peformance. Once that happens then nobody will matter because there will be players who can play 2 positions well like a CB in at WR while others will not play it well. We ain't there yet.
