View Full Version : What's the point in having an official website

We have barely over a month to go before we can get our hands on Top Spin 3, and yet the Official website consists of only a single page with some very small videos as part of the backround. I am sure that I am not the only one who finds this to be almost unacceptable. The website's purpose is to turn the hype meter way up in anticipation of a games release.

There are official websites up for games that are not going to be released for months and they are up and running with updates, photos, videos as well as news and forums and feedback. I am pleased that there have been more gameplay videos and an official trailer released but I would have rather watched them for the first time on a newly opened website that should have been up and running at least a few weeks ago if not earlier.

Does anyone have any thoughts and opinions or if anyone from 2k would like to comment or maybe give us an exact date on the opening of the website? Seriously this site should be opening regardless pretty soon anyway but I guess I am very dissapointed that it's taken so long.

Yes, we are sorry about the lack of website so far. It's a long drawn out reason why, just know that 2K is trying to get it out as soon as possible.

Thanks for the reply Ronnie. I'm sure there are reasons for the delay otherwise it would probably be up and running. For the fans though it is very frustrating with the initial delay of the game for an additional month, and then to have no official site to really go to.

keep us posted!

yeah it looks like they forgot to make that minor change. This stinks! It took me a while to find this forum and it's the only one where there is any consistent dialogue about the game. The official website would probably attract even more people to talk about the game since it's basically the hub for everything concerning the game.

The website is in approvals by sponsors. Let's hope for the best. It's been a challenge but hopefully it's almost there.

LOL you have to get approval from sponsors before you can update a website? Have to get approval from Nintendo before you can release a video, such a farce, who do we need to get permission from before we can download the demo? Mummy and Daddy?

Initial websites with potential sponsors need approvals. As of Friday, we needed one last approval. Sorry for the delay, I'll follow-up some more.

So do you have an estimated time that you will receive the approval and have the site up?

Anything exciting going to be on the website? Any exclusive videos other than the trailer going to be on the site?

I know there's a Wii video trailer in the works. There is no ETA but it is in very final approval so it shouldn't be that much longer.
