If the people with a PS2 had broadband they should be able to play Xbox players. I dont know why Developers havnt thought of this.

that does suck. WHy can't xbox and ps2 players share the same servers. just a difference in hardware right? This is like if someone is playing counterstrike on a AMD and they can't see another person playing on a Pentium. But i'm sure its more comlicated then that but there should be a way around it. Cross-platform online gaming experience.. DOPE.

Anyone out there hooked up to the network on their college campus? If so, I'd like to get on ANY server, actually just the PS2 one, but does anyone know what I might have to do. The connection test always times out. The FAQ's on the site don't cover this at all. Please help.

Xbox Live is a closed network. Xboxes are not allowed to communicate with any device that is not another Xbox or a server at an MS datacenter. Believe me, it's been thought about, but with with online support being so different between the two systems it's just not possible at this time.

Whats up fareal is xbox live needs to just be free and broadband only....take a lil slice of the ps2 life .... its not that i don't like ps2 but i felt 2k3 on xbox more than on ps2 , i only bought the ps2 one to go online with... Microsoft has enough money if not just from its computer resources they could let a few things go free 8)

MS online plan does suck, in need for speed underground and final fantasy 11 ps2 players can challenge PC players.

no... ps2 and xbox users are on two different servers. The ps2 server, gamespy, are free of charge and tend to be less appeal than the x box live server. (which you have to pay a monthly/yearly fee)

Xbox would lose alot of money if this would happen, the reason xbox charges is because they have a quality server.

yeah...id rather pay 50$ a month for these high quality lag-less servers then not pay and have POS servers like the ps2 does

If I had to pay $50 a month... or even 50 a year...
I'm not sure I would ever play online...

As long as they're free, I'm straight.
