Im not sure but I think 2k8 was out mid september last year.... or was it august?

it comes out oct 2nd every year sumtimes the 3rd counts on what tuesday the 2nd or 3rd falls on.

Each year is different. It depends on how fast they can go gold and it also depends on other factors including the competition (EA's Live release), what the surrounding weeks' releases are, and how much promotion can get done.
Also, it's not always on Oct. 2 or 3. 2k5 - 2k7 were around September 25 and before that, ESPN NBA Basketball (2K4) was released at the end of October (around Oct 21).
History itself shows that there is at least a one month window of release dates...

It officially drops October 7th for sure, cause I went into EB Games 2day 2 see if they had the demo disc... Don't forget 2 get the insurance policy 4 your game if it gets scratched up from playing it 2 long;)...

Yes it comes out October 17th...It has it on the 2K sports website.
