View Full Version : A demo would help!

Because those who might be on the fence or who are casual gamers might find a demo to be the thing that propels them to buy the game. Of course this is what demos are for. I can understand games like GTA and Metal Gear not needing a demo since their fanbase is so large but for a game like Top Spin 3, I would have expected a demo just to give people a taste of what they could have if they buy the game.

The date is not set in stone. It should be right around release date, probably slightly after is my guess.

I think that it is a horrible decision. There are a lot of people -some of them are friends- who are not sure about having this game, and once they release it they will forget about it or use their money to buy "Alone in the Dark", "NCAA Football" or something else.
Really, with all my respects, but it is a very dumb move.:thumbsdow

I did not confirm that it would be after. It's still up in the air. The game is strong enough that whatever decision they make as it pertains to a demo will be forgotten post-release anyway.

Hi Ron. I am getting this game regardless but the 2k staff should put out the demo 1 week prior to release to generate buzz so that people will like the game assuming the demo/game is quality. Releasing the demo afterwards makes it look like it wont be a good game and people should buy it on name alone. I think everyone at 2k and take2 understands that.
I know you arent confirming or denying when the demo will come out. just my 2 cents.

I completely agree with emelki1968 and stoutman11.
I don't think 2K hasn't put much effort into convincing people that the game is worth paying 60 bucks for - delayed trailer, delayed website and up to now still few information / screenshots about the game. A post-release demo won't help at all. Tennis games are not very popular to begin with (compared to NBA, FIFA etc.). Top Spin 3 has some great features but seriously, beside those who are lurking on this forum and closely follows the development of the game, not many people know about these great features. If Top Spin 3 wants to set itself apart from the other Tennis game then it should generate some serious buzz - and the best way to do this is a superb demo before release.

I trully believe that the game will be very good, and I certainly will buy it -as well as I always buy the amazingly good NBA2k's games-, but there is not buzz around this game with less that a month to be release, and a good demo will make people realize what they can get. Publicity, that sells game! Look at the garbage NBA LIVE 08 and they sell more than NBA2k8. Why? because they spent a lot more money than 2k in that aspect. A demo is the best publicity that you can give to the mainstream people.
P.S. As always I apologize for my English
