For some apparently reason EA really wants Take Two. It just came out of the blue oneday or when GTAIV was starting to become the focal point on all games and websites. But why now do EA want to buyout Taketwo.. I mean they want to make a Hostile Takeover and even putting a Billion dollars to the side to purchased Take Two. Why Now? and why they seem to do whatever it takes to purchase this company?
Maybe its a Hidden Agenda that only EA knows about that has yet to surface. Could it be that maybe the NFL Commissioner made it clear to EA that this would be the NFL last exclusive offer and that all companies will have the right to use the NFL logos, names, etc for a set and reasonable price.
EA now knowing this and before the news comes public from the NFL when the contract is up. EA decides to go No Holds Barred and take out Take two their main competitor before they have the chance to make a NFL game. EA knows that GTAIV will be a big hit and some success of the game will be devided onto the other and future games like 2kports and more. This success could boost 2ksports marketing campaign and maybe sign more legends.
I believe EA knows something is going to happen that will not go into their favor towards the NFL aggreement and if Take two gets a chance to make another NFL game it would spell lost for EA sports. But by buying Taketwo it would solve everything....Ever wonder why now EA was so intent on buying Take two? The Hidden Agenda will come to light....in due time

There's no hidden agenda. EA was trying to take over Take Two before GTA IV dropped to cash in on it's success. They still want to buy the company for the future revenues the various developers can potentially generate for them. And they would eliminate sports competition with their own games. No hidden agenda there.

i understand your way of thinking but why would the NFL extend their NFL license agreement with EA till 2013 just months ago, then just months later decide that this will be the last license agreement when theres still 5 years left before the agreement is up??? EA is trying to purchase T2 for two reasons. 1, because it will give them a stranglehold on all professional sports games, 2 because they can. the catch is, will the FTC allow EA to aquire take two. if you have read my other posts you will see that the FTC made an agreement with EA to hold out for at least 45 days on a T2 buyout so they can investigate it and look more closely to make sure it is not a monopoly. The only way t2 wont be bought out is if the FTC can provide a strong argument that if EA buys out take two than they will have control of all the Pro Licensed sports games, which would be eliminating competetion, which would mean a monopoly. If they find evidence that they can prove EA is trying to buy T2 just to get rid of competetion than the deal will not go through, and EA will have to leave T2 alone.

The decision in the next 45 days by the FTC could be the fate of future sports video games. lets all keep our fingers crossed that they do the right thing. That goes for everyone who is a NFL 2k fan and has been here in support of take-two, 2k sports, and in support of a freedom of choice in video games. Much respect for all of you.
