Health Recovery between rounds?

Is it right, that the between round health recovery is different between Career and for Online & Exhibitions?

I completed the story the other night, and started some Live play and some Exhibition fights. It seems that the Full regeneration happens in these modes but in career it was different.

I have seen posts about Multiplayer health recovery being different so I was expecting that, but not in Exhibition mode. Some people have said this makes things better (KO's harder, 3 min rounds become different to 90 secs) but for Exhibition games???

Even in 3 minute rounds online KOs are nigh impossible. You have to fight someone absolutely putrid that doesn't know blocking is in the game.

I have not yet made an online KO. I think mabey the recovery is for online to make matches last longer (odd, but thinkable). But for exhibition too. This is my question? Why?
