View Full Version : Wind effects? Not working....just like the lack of sidespin on ground strokes...

0% swerving of ground strokes
------------------------------------

I cannot understand how proper realistic swerving of ground strokes do not appear in TS3, serves obviously have the facility to, but except for some very old tennis games from years ago, all the top latest tennis games ignore this all important factor.

Wind
-----

On top of this, I notice that whatever the wind speed is (tells u this as the each match starts, ranges from 1m/h to around 6m/h), the ball is not affected one bit, ive yet to see the ball not travel in a straight line for all strokes except serves, and that includes slices too, they all travel straight, it bugs me to high heaven this.

Surely the wind is in this game to affect the flight of the ball? Ball physics realistic? I want to be proved wrong on all the above, if anyone has seen this happen, or has seen a shot arc in flight, i simply have to know!! I was hoping the wind would at least affect the balls path, or that slices would bend, but oh no, it seems mathematics along those lines have only been implemented for serves.

Coders - Tell me it exists, please!! (did in TS2....though only for a certain risk shot)
---------------------------------------

I even would like to hear from one of the coders as to whether this is implemented properly if at all. At least in TS2 a certain risk shot that even the CPU would play would be a curved flight slice or forehand shot, but ive yet to witness this yet, and this for me spoils what is and what should be the greatest tennis sim ever.

Please please someone tell me whether this is in the game, i have yet to see it happen, as for realistic physics, and with supposed wind in the game too, its a sad enditement to code ground strokes to all head in a straight unrealistic direction.

Nadal
------

One last point for the non-believers, is that to witness this guys forehand, most of them have a wicked arc on them that bends the ball bigtime, and simulatnsouly has miles of top spin on the shots, now to have that ball movement in this is what i was and should be expecting.

It amazes me how no-one else picks up on this, i mean with FIFA 08 / PES 08 i see on other forums plenty of people mentioning how 'crosses are too floaty, or bend too much, or dont bend enough' etc, and yet tennis more and more these days is not only about top spin, the ball has all manner of spin applied to it (and yes, i know, table tennis for example would/should show much more visible spin as the ball is much lighter and every single shot dips, turns, spins all ways), and VT3, SMASH COURT TENNIS 3 (i have the Japanese version) and now TS3, have all been letdowns for this, again, they all have completely straight ball physics for ground strokes.

Im off for a lie down, its windy in here...

Super Tennis. Yet to be beat but TS3 gave it a good shot lol.
