Im just wondering what other PS2 owners that will buy NHL 2k9 wants. I want if at all possible changes for us and i just dont mean like every yr changes in the rosters but graphic wise. This is the same with NHL 09. Both EA and 2k forgot about us PS2 owners who helped maked them so popular. And both games since NHL 08 and NHL 2k8 has given us the same game every yr only difference rosters and covers. So let me and others kno wat u want for NHL 2k9 for the PS2.

Most PS2 owners who bought their consoles before 2003 have probably already bought a current-gen console. Just like in five years or so when the next-gen consoles are out, the people who currently own PS3s and 360s will likely own their successors.
Just saying. It's not that 2K or EA have forgotten about the customers that bought their games, because those customers own current-gen customers.
As for what people want. I'm pretty sure PS2 owners would like to have everything that's in the current-gen version. What the PS2 gets is another thing entirely.

They haven't forgot about making money but have forgot to put moredate dedication to any.
That I dont understand from 2k, were not asking for a graphics overhaul, as thats not the problem but seriously they can't add the pro stick features and realistic goalie animations into the ps2 that the current gen have, why?!. The ps2 is not that terribly weak by any means so it's just a bunch of bs for them not to integrate those features.

Oh really? Look up:

Anyway Cee_Nasty, I agree that the PS2 version should have all (or most) of the features the current-gen version does. I think that in an effort to release the best possible game for 360 and PS3, EA and 2K just had different teams work on each version so the current-gen version's quality doesn't suffer.
In that sense, I think it's perfectly fine that the PS2 version doesn't match up because they're trying to push forward on the newer consoles and don't want to be restricted to developing for the lowest common denominator. But what's been happening with rehashed versions each year isn't right either. I see no reason why the PS2 version would be at most one year behind in its features, with a good number of new features from the current-gen version also making it to the PS2.
It's just slacking, to be honest. People know that the PS2 isn't the most powerful console around and that gives the impression that graphics don't matter.
That didn't really have a point, but whatever.

After the goal nets last year, the least 2k could do is send an updated copy this fall to anyone who brings 2k8 back to their local gaming store. The goal nets was completely unacceptable and my dad buys this slim ps2 for what, the ps2 and xbox could still have things added to it, its ridiculous they think that its memory issues why they can't place the goal nets in the proper position, or even update the new controls like EA did. I'll be really surprised if EA doesn't bring a PS2 version of 09 out, i know they will be having Madden for sure.

I do not want or care for a graphics overhaul; what I really want is for the actual gameplay, control scheme, AI, etc. to mirror that of the game on PS3 and 360. 2K8 was just like 2K7 was just like 2K6. I don't simply want the same game for the fourth year in a row.
But I'm just a PS2 owner, it's not like either 2K or EA care about me anyway. That's what it feels like for certain.

First thing! I simply am in disbief that I can't fight at all. The salt in the wound is that they give you the option of either having the fighting on, or off. If anyone reading this HAS SUCCESSFULLY HAD A FIGHT ON NHL2K9 FOR THE PS2 CONSOLE; please post a reply. Also, no, it's not as good as it's predessesor: 2K8 in large part because it'll make the PS3 version seem better. Don't get me wrong, it's still a damn fine/fun hockey game. All of the 2009 sports game are lackluster. If you want to see a good example of the PS2 being left in the dust, check out Tiger Woods 09. That flat out sucked!
