With both men moving up in weight to 135, and both fighting champions, what would the lightweight rankings look like if they both win? Joel Casamayor is the the ring champ, so if Juan beats him, then hes the ring champion. Manny is facing David Diaz, who is probably the weakest champ at 135. So if Manny wins, I cant see him being ranked any higher than 3rd or 4th in the division. That being said, did Juan just outsmart Manny by basically forcing Manny to come to him for a third fight ? Manny told the public after the 2nd fight there would be no 3rd fight, but if Juan wins, and is considered the ring champion, I dont see Manny walking away from a third fight. What a smart move by Juan, Casamayor is slipping very fast, and I think Marquez will outwork him, and beat him to the punch all night long.

Definitely Marquez would be the Number 1 guy in the division if he beats Cassamayor. But I think it might be a tough fight. Joel is a tough vet that will do whatever it takes in order to win the fight. He is on the downside of his career and I agree that Marquez is the faster fighter. But Joel still has a bit left and can make it a long night for Marquez with his counterpunching. But I see Marquez winning this fight by Unanimous Decision, setting up the inevitable third showdown with Pac-Man. I would love to see that fight. I'm sorry, but with fights like that, Cotto vs. Margarito and others, boxing is far from dead.
