It's extra cost for an insignificant fraction of the sales. Not worth it with the current state of piracy for PC games. Then if 2K were to try and protect their intellectual property with DRM, it would likely only manage to hamper the experience for people who actually buy the game and get them a ton of negative press.

Then there are people *****ing and moaning that the game doesn't look as good as game x and costs more than game y, it's just a headache 2K hockey games don't need right now.

I got no idea about what todays standards are on pc's but uh hacking, piracy justifies why EA doesn't port their ps3/360 sport games to the pc by instead dishing out ps2 versions, i don't see the need for 2k to do it anyway since they don't even have a market with sport games on the pc, and for nhl to be the first one ehm... i don't think thats a bright idea maybe the nba franchise would make sense.. $ losses + no profit and just have 200 people buy the game and 30 of those people play online eh not worth it.

Why do people bother playing games (pc exclusives excluded) on the pc if you can just buy a 'fragbox'(20-30$ ebay) and play with your keyboard and mouse on a game system.... ?
