I have found the formation, play, and setup to run this in All-Pro Football. It is very effective and relatively easy play to run, it can free up a lot of options for your offense, if you can execute this play. This is the setup on offense that i used to run the Power Sweep -
G- Paul Hornung - HB
G- Russ Grimm - G
S- Joe Delamielleure - G
S- Daryl Johnston - FB
B- Jesse Sapolu - C

By the way receivers - possesion, runningbacks - power, o-line - run block.

It might be helpful to throw in a bronze QB. To find this play you must go into playbook manager, and look under the formation SPLITBACK. The formation under splitback that you want to go into is SPLIT PRO. Now when you are there scroll down threw the plays until you find one called STRONG TOSS SWEEP. This is the power Sweep. Now go into practice mode for a little bit to understand the blocking on this play. It shouldn't take that long to under stand the blocking, once in a while the play will be blow up by the defense, but 9/10 times the play works flawlessly. Try it out for our self and tell me how it worked for you.

I have been practicing with a new team that utilized a Gold Tackle and a Silver Guard. I practiced a lot with it, and the thing I noticed the most was just how plain stupid the Guard behaved. On any pull they rarely blocked their man, even with a Silver pick on a scrub D-Lineman. WHEN they get their block, and a big emphasis on WHEN, they dominate. As a blocker for the QB, they are awesome, but they really struggle in the running game due to the AI logic.

Now, Tackles, that's a different story. I had a LOT of success with a Gold / Silver Tackle, who many times bowled over one DLineman, and then quickly ran ahead and got a 2nd tackle. With a Gold / Silver Tackle / Guard I put up 150 yards with a scrub HB (Pittman) averaging nearly 20 yards a carry. I doubt this will hold up online though, but I'm willing to bet I could still get a good 100 yards against most players with this build.

Yes this has been my experience a lot. Why waste a pick on an O-line if they will still act the same as a generic. very disappointed in this part of the game. I looked forward to dominating with the run with Alexander, Hutchinson, Mack Strong, and Walter Jones. With that combination that should be almost unstoppable.

Yeah, I was amazed at one point when my Gold Tackle and my Silver Guard double teamed a Bronze DLineman, when the Guard was supposed to pull and make a block. *sigh* Very frustrating when they do silly things like that instead of running the play as designed.

I actually think that the best blocker in this game is a RB. Matt Snell.

He's certainly the only back ive seen in this game have any clue to the concept of pass protection.

Yea I love Matt Snell! When I go to a power running game I use a 2 RB's and he is one of them with a FB and 2 TE's. Power I with that lineup kills :)

I tried your play you posted about and that play sucks! The Strong C/T Toss Sweep works a lot better :)

Not like I didnt have good players to run it either.

G: Walter Jones
G: Mack Strong
S: Shaun Alexander
S: Matt Hasselbeck
S: Steve Hutchinson

That play is garbage :(

Here's the thing, generic WRS cannot BLOCK. with this mean is cbs and safeties will be running them over and will get a hand on your hb to slow them down for the gang tackle.

Personally if I was going to use a run only team the HB would have to be a workhorse and I would have a Tight Ends.

G - Mike Ditka ( he's a beast period)
G- Otto Graham ( best qb in the game)

S- Billy Joe Dupree ( amazing blocking te)
S - Matt Snell ( best blocking fb/hb)

B- Christian Okoye ( his shoulder charge can knock down ANY defender 1 on 1)

Now pray on defense
peace

I think you can put a servicable D on the field still if you used Eric Green instead of Dupree, considering you have ditka and his leadership.

That would give you 2 silvers on D. Someone could go with say, Bethea, and Barney..so they have at least a fighting chance out there.

Yeah, good choice.

Eric Greens only ability is bulldozer, and he's really great at blocking.

So yeah 2 silvers on defense makes plenty sense.
