I was playing APF and I realized how many of the new "improvements" to madden and Ncaa football are already in APF! Stuff that EA is yelling about like they're brand new: clear visors, field goal nets,COMMENTATORS!!..Lol! I'm sure there are more but it kills me how much better the animations look in APF which is a litlle "outdated" by next gen standards. If 2K would simply release a patch that lets me edit all the uniforms of all the teams I would play this game until the next version comes out...hopefully there will be a next one!

some of those acheivements are so random to haha. i forgot it exacly but its like rush for 300 yards with the dolphins. or have 2 punt and kick return tds in a game... hopefully then freaking fixed the defensive AI because it was almost impossible to have 1 of each in 1 season in 08.

They didnt even release madden 2008 until after APF 2K8. That is the reason they have all the legends in 2008. They never think for themselfs, they just take what others have already done and implement it in to there game and give it a different name and call it a new feature you should get excited about LOL.

It requires the ability to think outside the box, to learn your user base, and to understand the capabilities of the company from a technology perspective with regards of feasibility of delivering complex solutions within given time constraints. I'm currently moving into the Product Architect space (business) away from the Enterprise Architect space (technology) mainly because I end up spending more time with the business already helping them avoid mistakes that would end up costing them millions of dollars if they executed on them. The business side in the technology space is pretty darn difficult, but what's truly sad is that the gaming market is a little easier in the sense that you have a TON of fans providing a lot of really good feedback with regards to what they want to see in the game making the job of the Product Manager / Architect / <insert name here> that much easier.
EA has managed to sale games based on name brand recognition alone despite a poor Product Vision and definition.
I really think that 2K Sports could tie EA in football game sales within 3 to 5 years on existing platforms if they executed the proper Product Vision. While APF2K8 was a sound game, and took a step in the right direction, it really missed the mark on many levels. Give me 3 months and I could put together a Product Vision for 2K Sports football genre for the next 5 to 10 years that builds off of APF2K8s successes while incorporating new features and capabilities that will leave football strategists salivating. :)
