I cannot believe it. I must preface the following by stating I am A HUGE 2K fan. I'm extremely loyal to the NHL franchise, and Civ Revolution. I'm blown away by how bad this boxing game is.

I wanted to know if this was just an issue with a sloppy demo, or is the game really this bad? I've played the demo several times, repeatedly retrying the game because I'm in such utter disbelief. In every other fight, my boxer was knocked down by a punch to the shoulder, or the wrist!! I mean, punches aren't even connecting on my and I'm hitting the canvas. I've noticed the action or framerate seems to slown down at various points for no reason, and your boxer looses responsiveness!!

I mean, I'm spoiled. I consider Fight Night Round 3 for the 360 the BAR for that all boxing games must match. This one sadly doesn't even come close. Is it just a bum demo?

I bought the game before the demo came out thinking that since it's a 2K game that it would be pretty good like most of their sports games are. I, like you, am a big 2K fan and have bought their products for years. I couldn't wait for Prizefighter to drop because 2K is the one company that I just knew would make a realistic and sim boxing game and succeed where EA has failed IMO with numerous attempts. I was shocked and really horrified at the product that 2K has put out and called a boxing game. The game is bad, period. I could not believe that 2K would even attach itself to such a horrible product considering how good their other sports games like NBA 2K8, NHL 2K8, and APF are. The game is slow, the collision detection is very bad, the fighters all fight alike, and the punching mechanics are a joke. It seems as if the game is unfinished yet they bought it out anyway. How else can they justify releasing a game in which the commentary skips like a broken record? I can see a having minor hiccups here and there, but that's just unacceptable for a next gen on a powerful system like the 360 to be doing that. As a 2K supporter for years, I have to say that I'm really embarrassed for them about Prizefighter, and I never though I would say that about a 2K game. I would like nothing more than for them to make a PF2 with Visual Concepts at the helm because letting Venom Games anywhere near Prizefighter was a HUGE mistake! One god thing about it though is that Venom is closing at th end of the month so we KNOW that they won't be involved in a PF2 if one gets made.

A straight answer to your question is., YES!

I bought it the minute it came out and still enjoy what I can do differently in this game compared to the slugfest of FN3.

Admittedly though, FN3 was one of the first games I bought with my 360. Loved it for a bit, completed all the achievements, and then traded it in for another game. I got sick of it because it wasn't a proper representation of the sport. Neither game are to be honest, but PF comes alot closer.

Anyway, i'll hold on to this untill FN4 and see what EA has improved...

i went and bought it the day it came out.....unlike many on these forums i actually reserved my opinion after i thoroughly played the game thru....

not to sound like a broken record, but the game isnt bad as they say it is and its also not as good as it should be. IMO the probs are things that should never been problems ..maybe it was an overlook in the mechanics or maybe it was rushed.

at the end of the day, this game does alot of things right and if you're into real boxing you'lll love it for that....

I just played the demo and i am so sorry to say this but... FNR3 is better in my opinion. This game seems like it wasn't fully tinkered with and was rushed. The mechanics kinda mimic FNR3 but in the worst of ways. I won't come near this game. It's like NBA Live vs NBA 2K and we all know who wins that one. Though Live is catching up in terms of overall likeability not product.

LoL @ the first two posts of this topic... I was saying the exact same thing when I saw the game IN ACTION on Spike TV lmfao! I knew how bad it was gonna be lmfao, I told yall the same thing, Venom is not VC, VC BUILT the 2K brand, they were just milking the name for money. However VC has it's own problems to fix in NBA2k9 but nothing nowhere near as much garbage this game needed to fix.

It was 2K's first real attempt at a boxing franchise and probably it's last. 2K milks that exclusive MLB deal with way too many games you have MLB2K9, Bigs, Front Office, that back yard crap game. Let me just say that I am an investor in TTWO. I hold almost 200 shares at 8-9 bucks a share. The only reason I support Take Two is because of the 2k franchises. I could care less about Rock Star and the blood and guts games. IF 2K keeps making bad games I'm gonna jump ship and pull my money out. We wan't a new football game and cleaner version of NBA2k9. The NHL franchise is strong so I give praise on that end.

As far as Don King goes? Why would you even put that piece of garbage's name on the game? He has sold his soul to the devil to be where he is. He is con man. And a disgrace to the african american dream of Martin Luther King Jr.
