I think Spectator mode would be cool for the guys that play online leagues and tournaments. We could watch our playoffs and Stanley Cup finals. Also, we could cheer or friends on and be able to maybe input some text on signs that fans in the stands have.

Excellent idea and one that should be implemented in all online sports games. However, it may prove to be too bandwidth intensive at this point and they would certainly have to limit it to a certain number of players allowed to spectate. I still think it should be a top priority item and it would increase the depth of play immensely. It would also allow people to learn by watching others. Imagine being able to remenisce with a friend about the time he choked a 3 goal lead in 3rd during the conference finals??!!
