Hi!

Me and a friend just started playin` 2K8 after playing EAs NBA-Games for many years. We are a little amazed how HARD this game is - even at skill-level Rookie we still have huge problems winning our games.

So we started a two-player franchise-game to get some more practice and to improve our skills. :)

The franchises are the Celtics (my friend`s) and the Sonics (my team).
We have chosen to make a fantasy draft and after some more trades we have the following line-ups:

Celtics:

C - Andrea Bargnani
PF - Kevin Garnett
SF - Peja Stojakovic
SG - Michael Redd
PG - TJ Ford

Bench:
Spencer Hawes
Jason Smith
Quentin Richardson
JR Smith
Damon Stoudamire
Eddie Jones
Doug Christie
Brandon Bass

Sonics:

C - Samuel Dalembert
PF - Ben Wallace
SF - Tayshaun Prince
SG - Manu Ginobili
PG - Chris Paul

Bench:
PJ Brown
Al Thornton
Shane Battier
Damien Wilkins
Earl Watson
Robert Swift
Thaddeus Young

First I had Arenas instead of Chris Paul in my line-up, but I was constantly unsatisfied with him and so I traded him for Paul, Battier and a first and a second-round Pick.

We had something like the 7th and 8th pick overall. So, what do you think of our line-ups? Is there someone in there you would suggest to trade? How would you rate our teams?

Celtics: need a back-up PG
Sonics: need better offensive post

Sorry, my mistake...

I forgot to mention Damon Stoudamire on the Celtics roster! :o

Concerning the Sonics:
I like having a well-rounded, defensively strong frontcourt and so I am quite satisfied with what Dalembert and Wallace contribute to my team effort. Also Brown and Thornton are filling in quite well when I need them. But I`ve got to admit that offensively I am much more using my guards than establishing a lot of post-game.

So which offensively strong post-player would you take into consideration, Jet?

So let me give you a short update of our franchise-game...

After struggelingfor the first 8 - 10 games me and my friend both are getting used to 2K8. Slowly but surely. Meanwhile we are close to the trading-deadline so we mixed up our line-ups:

Celtics:

C - Andrea Bargnani
PF - Kevin Garnett
SF - Gerald Wallace
SG - Rip Hamilton
PG - TJ Ford

Bench:
Spencer Hawes
Brandon Bass
Quentin Richardson
JR Smith
Acie Law
Allan Ray
Eric Snow

Sonics:

C - Samuel Dalembert
PF - Ben Wallace
SF - Tayshaun Prince
SG - Manu Ginobili
PG - Chris Paul

Bench:
PJ Brown
Al Thornton
Jeff Green
Damien Wilkins
Brevin Knight
Patrick O`Bryant
Thaddeus Young

We both also got some Picks in these trades, including one I got that will very likely be in the Top 5 Picks. :)

So because we are quite close to the trading deadline I thought there still may be some potential to improve our teams, although I am quite satisfied with my team (now on a 12-6 record) and my friend (11-10) recently traded Stojakovic and Redd for Wallace and Hamilton which seems to turn out as a good move... he just had to change something after loosing 3 in a row.

So is there something special we should change about our lineups? I was looking for a better Postplayer but it`s not that easy to find one that isn`t to expensive to trade for. Is there someone special I maybe should look for?

I don`t see the Celtics team that much better. Sure, they have a better frontcourt and maybe the team has a little more depth... maybe it`s because they had a pick 2 or 3 positions earlier, maybe it`s because I was satisfied with my team like it was and could trade for some picks while my friend had to use much of his own draft-picks in order to get this line-up.

Anyway... It`s not leading into numbers...
We are through the regullar season now and my Sonics are 20-9, seeded second in the West, while the Celtics went on a late 2-8 record and were eliminated from playoff race just before my friend`s last game on the last day of the season.

`Cause I didn`t want to play through the playoffs on my own in a two-player-game we started a new Season with very similar line-ups... ;)

So after i went 10-1 in the first games of our new season I decided to start a association modus on my own - at difficulty starter `cause my numbers steadily increased... :)

Because I am a Sonics-Fan for some 12 or 13 years by now, I decided to start without a fantasy draft this time, tryin` to get the best out of the Sonics line-up.

After some trading I achieved to get a - in my mind - nice line-up that looks quite similar to the one in our two-player-modus...

It was important to me keeping Durant on the line-up although it would have been easy to improve the team a lot by trading him. I just wanted to keep some kind of "Sonic-feeling" by not trading Durant.

So here`s my team:

C: Samuel Dalembert
PF: Nene
SF: Tayshaun Prince
SG: Kevin Durant
PG: TJ Ford

...and the bench:

Chris Wilcox
Lamarcus Aldridge
Thaddeus Young
Damien Wilkins
Lou Williams
Jason Smith
Daequian Cook

I started 5-2 into the first season, the highlights was beating the Raptors at home by 42 points.

So what do you think of this line-up? I am looking to improve my PG-Position but that will probably take until the next season because I already put in some picks to put together this team.

Youve got a BIG team.... it is a pretty good line-up
