what happen to 4 min majors, getting kick out the game, 2min more if there blood for something like a high stick. hitting the goalie after the play is dead. to many men on the ice.

these things are apart of hockey so i don't see why there not in the game. if your going to play a rank sim game all the rules should be there not just the ones you like.

Yeah, i really hope these rules are in the game. I think at this point hockey should be much better.

Some rules and penalties are left out so as not to mis-represent the league. I don't think we'll be seeing 4 minute majors, game misconducts, or blood anytime soon, because the NHL probably doesn't want the devs to show that. It's the same reason why you don't see technical fouls and flagrant fouls in the NBA games (with the exception of defensive 3 second technical foul calls).

The too many men on the ice call would be hard to do, I think, as it would have to be a completely random thing to happen, since the game handles line changes pretty well. And if it's completely random, then the player might be mad as they had no control over it. When it happens in real life, it's a mental breakdown for one moment, or over-eagerness. But, in a game, it might come across as something cheap done by the computer to put you at a disadvantage. It's also why you don't see palming or hand checking in basketball. How do you put something like that in the game and not make it seem like a cheap random occurrence.

Now, if there was a "be a pro" type of mode where you controlled only one player, then it could happen if you got on the ice too soon during a line change. That would be in your control as to when to get on the ice as you see the other player approach the bench.

Just to clear something up, 4 min is a double minor, 5 min is a major. :p

Seriously though, NHL 09 has both 4 and 5 min penalties for highsticking and have added a "stick lifting" feature.

Too many men would be stupid. It'd probably end up happening all the time and knowing 2K games they'd freeze.

How I miss the days of the 10 min misconduct for checking the ref into the boards. :D

Next somebody will want to include a Sean Avery rule ... and it doesn't take effect until the second round of the playoffs. There's a limit to what these programmers can do. And, when they try to do too much, promblems usually arise.
