Very nice. Throws my plans to buy 09 into question. Online Be a Pro is still quite compelling, though...

online be a pro sounds cool, if hockey buds of mine join in also. . .

So 2k has a 6 v 6 mode online... im wondering if you just meet in a lobby and play against whoever. NHL 09 also has a 6 v 6 mode where you and your buddies create your own team.. create a player each then play against other teams. Which sounds better?

How can anyone say which sounds better when we don't know all the details about forming teams in the 2K version? The way you word it, you make EA's version sound better, but that's assuming the 2K version.

It would be alot nicer if we had a touch more info from 2K on their version. It's all skepticism now; I just hope 2K has a pile of information to drop their customers otherwise they might not get many people to try out VC's new game...

Yeah, but I actually enjoy playing 2K hockey. If both have 6v6 play then I have little reason to bother with 09, which I won't have too much fun with if it's like 07 and 08.

i agree with king. if 2k doesnt like how everyone is hyping the ea pro mode more then 2k's, then give us a reason to OHH and AHHH over 2k more. personally besides a zamboni race (which will wind up not being that big a deal after like 5 times) and a TON of wii info, there hasnt been much word about the new 2k game.

This is not coming from an EA Fanboy but just info I have read an video's I have seen. I been getting the 2K games actually, had 2K7 an have 2K8.

2K has 6 vs 6 online play using NHL teams like you do know with 3 vs 3, 2 vs 2 etc is what I get from info available. Hope it is better then this but we got no info other then it's 6 vs 6 online with 12 diff consoles.

EA has EA Sports Hockey League which is 6 vs 6 also but with tons more features in it. You create yourself as either a forward, defenseman or goalie with your name on jersey an the number you pick on there as well. You can create your own team with up to 50 other people on it or join one that is already created via friends list or by getting asked to join. Each player on the ice has there own camera, it's a 3rd person style one and there is also an arrow on screen that shows the puck location relative to you when puck isn't visible on your screen. You progress by getting experience an points that you can apply to the skill set (6 for forward. 2 for defense, 3 for goalie) of the player type you picked at player creation.

That is all info I know an from just that the EA 6 vs 6 sounds tons better but we'll see when games get released.

Nightbird said exactly what i meant before.. ive been with 2k hockey since 2k5 and i have high hopes for 2k to deliver because 09 looks really really good from what i see. but if 2k9 is at least like every other year plus better animations such as maybe hits being little nudges sometimes compared to complete bull dozers every hit, then i will still buy 2k9. we'll see when the demo comes out right????

6v6 is more better than 6v6 ? You need any leagues for this? Why? 6v6 and 6v6 it is the same future for both companies definitely because on 2k you can do online leagues too !
