Great fight and a great show of determination by Margarito. I don't see anyone beating Antonio unless he is totally lackadasical and gives up too many rounds a la the Paul Williams fight. But I don't see Margarito making that mistake again. I would love to see Margarito against Mayweather. Mayweather doesn't want any part of Margarito because he knows that Margarito would walk him down and knock him out.

I dont know man. Floyd can run for forever. I think that fight would amount to the boringest fight to watch of Margos career, and would probably result in Floyd winning a UD by running and potshotting the much slower Margarito. In my mind Cotto poses more of a threat to Mayweather than Margarito does, despite the outcome of Saturdays fight.

I agree that Cotto would beat Mayweather as well, but to me even though Mayweather can run forever, he does take a lot of punches to the body, which makes me think that since Margarito (and Cotto) are great body punchers, they would wear him down and possibly take him out late. One thing is for sure. Mayweather will not trade with either fighter. The bicycle will be out for sure.

Dissagree simply because peeps need to realize that floyd is not a runner but is a perfect example of to hit and not get hit when your the smaller man.
I dont understand the term runner ? Its a ring that can be cut off real easy by just taking side steps and your right there with your opponent. Margarito did a horrible job cutting off the ring against cotto but cotto defense isnt nearly as good as mayweather so the peeps that think margarito will land the same shots on mayweather that he did on cotto really need to watch mayweathers movement.
Cotto would get hit too much against mayweather coming in, and the only difference between cotto and margarito is that margarito will still come after getting tagged by mayweather and cotto would have a boxing clinic put on him .
Margarito would still come forward against mayweather but that doesnt mean he beats him , i think margarito will give him hell but mayweather too quick and would get in and out. Plus the way margarito cutt off the ring vs cotto makes my decision rather easy cause mayweather is much quicker on his feet than cotto and much quicker with his hands and trust me dont beleive other peeps or fighters that say MAYWEATHER has no power .
His speed and accuracy equal power that frustrates opponents .

Mayweather is not much faster than Cotto with his hands, and Floyd doesnt throw combinations like Cotto does. He does have better agility than Cotto, that cannot be denied. To think that Cotto would just sit back and let Mayweather pick him apart and pot shot him is ridiculous. Margarito broke Cotto down because of his tenacity, and size advantage, Floyd has neither of those advantages against Cotto, so Cotto would try to bully him like his previous 32 opponents. I think that Cotto would corner Floyd , let his hands go(mostly to the body and elbows), and not let Floyd clinch.
Earlier I said that I thought Cotto would match up better against Floyd than Margarito would. But I am changing my outlook, due to me watching the Margo-Cotto fight 4 times(lol, I cant stop watching it). Margarito would do basically the same, except he has 0 chance of getting hurt by Floyd, so he would throw caution to the wind and outdo his old compubox record(most punches thrown in a fight). Floyd would be in serious trouble if he ever faught the larger, busier, iron-headed, and very determined Margarito. Margarito has wanted to fight Floyd for how long, and Floyd has basically ignored him, or written him off. That would ignite Margarito if he ever got the chance to fight Mayweather, and he would put on the most tenacious show of his career. Floyd usually doesnt throw while hes being thrown at. He cant beat Margarito throwing 50-60 punches per round, cuz Margo would be throwing 120 per round.

how so very true. king of kings, you can say what you want about mayweather being the best, but the problem is, your boy will never prove it. Didn't do it when he was active, won't do it retired. Must suck that the guy you think is the best, is only thought of that way because of his penchant for never taking a risky fight. God that's gotta suck to hear that over and over and over and over because it's TRUE!

Risky fights ? How bout your boy go to 154 and loses again to Santos ? Santos isnt even the best at 154 or even top 3 and he lost to him. THE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT YOUR A MAYWEATHER HATER AND A MEXICAN FIGHTER LOVER and thats the bottom line.
Risky fights... Mayweather beats DLH at 154 which is regarded the best at that weight till now and lets not forget he fought a VERY SMALL MAYWEATHER JR. who once started at
130 !!!
Risky fights.... Coralles when undefeated and top of his game was pounded by PBF .
Risky fights... PBF beating castillo in a tough first fight and then rematching him to show everybody that he took the risk and just beat castillo again.
Risky fights...PBF has beaten champions in 5 different weight classes something MARGARITO WILL NEVER DO CAUSE HE WILL STAY AT HIS WEIGHT AND TAKE THE ADVANTAGE of being the bigger GUY IN HIS WEIGHT and use that advantage !!
You talk about risky fights then tell margarito to stop picking on smaller fighters and go in different weight and try to beat the champions there when he cleans out his division , SOMETHING MAYWEATHER has done in his original weight which is cleaning it out and then moving on !!
Oh wait margarito tried that already against SANTOS and lost ...HAHAHA

Not throwing combinations doesn't mean one wouldn't have the ability or capacity to do that.
I think that Cotto is tailor made to for a straight right and a left hook to the body or head. Mosley landed that punch a lot on Cotto. Cotto would put up a good effort but I think Floyd's accuracy and speed would win out in a UD or late stoppage.
Not sure who said, but Floyd would probably pot shot his way to a UD or Antonio. The referee would be very important. I'll tell exactly what Floyd would do. I the middle of the ring he hits Margarito with anything everything he wants. As soon as they get near the ropes Floyd ties him up. Margarito would probably get frustrated and it would cost him in the end. Margarito has all of the intangibles but application I just don't see it happening.
We'll never know what would happen if Floyd stepped in the ring with either and it ain't gonna happen because Floyd ain't coming back. Cotto's loss to Margarito solidified it.

Not even at the lower weight classes did he clean a division out. Like I said, must suck. Santos was stopped on a technicality. If you had actually seen the fight, you'd know exactly how it played out. But since you didn't and just parrot somebody else's arguments, its understable. BTW, didn't Santos just win a Jr. Middleweight title against Alcine? Yeah, he looks pretty bad, huh?
Me, a mayweather hater? Sure, if you wanna call someone who doesn't like him or his style of fighting a hater, then yeah. I can at least acknowledge that he had skill. Too bad he didn't prove it.
#1: Dlh, best at 154, til now? You are a boxing fan, right? LMAO @ you even suggesting that.
#2: Corrales-Yes PBF beat him to a bloody pulp. This was when i thought that PBF would actually do something or be somebody. pretty nice win and career defining win, lol. corrales, in subsequent years would prove to be less than GREAT.
#3: Most people think he lost the first fight to Castillo, me included. Most people think he ran the second fight and won on UD, the way he should have done the first. Great, so he can move away limiting the amount of times they trade. How awesome, lol.
#5: DLH @154? JOKE. BALDOMIR AND JUDAH @ 147? JOKE. GATTI @ 140? JOKE. Castillo @ 135? LEGIT! Genaro @ 130? LEGIT. Still, where is casamayor, freitas, johnston, spadafora? Anyone, anywhere?
Lastly, MAYWEATHER, has never ever ever ever ever ever cleaned out a division. I don't know a better way to put it. NEVER! You aren't a boxing fan, that much is obvious. You are a johnny come lately mayweather fan.
Have fun with that.

He's right. One of the main reasons I think a fighter would hop divisions is to challenge himself each time. Especially if he had already cleaned out his original weight class. Floyd didn't do that. Corrales and Castillo were tough. Chop-Chop held his own and actually wobbled Floyd a little. Floyd himself called Gatti a C fighter. That's not a challenge. Judah was the recognized champ and had all of the tools to beat Floyd so I don't think you can say him fighting Zab wasn't legit. But all things aside he has never cleaned out a division. i think he should have made his career at 140. He still would have had his speed and pop at that weight.

Floyd was an amazingly talented fighter who deserves his props as such. He beat some very good fighters and a couple of great ones. But what I have a problem with is that Floyd calls himself the greatest of all time and yet didn't even fight the best that were availiable to him. That's my problem. I don't mind that he retired, if he retired because he just doesn't have boxing in his heart anymore. I think he had a special career, that's for sure. But when he goes around calling himself the greatest annoys me because there was Margarito and Cotto staring him in the face and he took money (allegedly, I read) to avoid AM. Mayweather is an all time great, I'll give him that. But not the best of all time, not even close. And yeah, maybe running is a strong word. But some of Floyd's fights were boring because he just refused to take any chances and do just enough to win. So by running, I mean throwing one punch at a time and moving around the ring quickly, doing just enough to earn a decision. And while I have said that I have no problem with fighters moving up or down in class to fight the best, Floyd left weight classes when there were good fights to be made. Margarito is going to stay in the welterweight division because it so happens to be the deepest weight class in boxing. So the big fights are there. Basically, it's Floyd's attitude that annoys a lot of boxing fans because he talks a big game and then avoids and retires when there are big fights to be made.
